I cancelled my SG 256 order placed on 10-27@3:43 am CT, after it’s been stuck in progress (11/2-11/10) for a week, and placed a reservation to pick one up at the Apple store today. F*ck AT&T’s preorder system.
Every Apple store in dfw has stock in both colors and both sizes available for all carriers. Either the supply shortage rumors were grossly exaggerated or the sales were not what was expected and perhaps they priced these at a point that there is some resistance. I’m betting the former. Regardless just cancelled my Apple store 11/17-24 order and my AT&T 11/2-11/10 order and reserved a 256 SG for 10am pickup.

I also cancelled my order and doing pick up at Apple Store as well, what a joke that this is more possible. Good luck to everyone else. The availability was there in two local stores for my model and I took the risk of cancelling my order and my upgrade line came back immediately and placed a reservation today at 5pm. Seems online ordering is NOT the route anymore for this game.
I ordered two phones around 4:57am Eastern, one at 4:54 and the other at 4:57 to be exact, the one ordered at 4:57 shipped last night and the 4:54 phone says Preparing to Ship. The one that's shipped says it will be delivered by FedEx on Monday.
I stopped by one of my local AT&T stores yesterday just to see what they'd say about stock. The sales guy told me that they didn't receive any X's at all and don't expect any until Monday at the earliest.

So I was in the 11/2-11/10 shipping group still showing In Progress. I took a look at Apple's website and it showed my model 256GB silver available for pickup today. I got on with AT&T chat, confirmed my eligibility would immediately return and canceled my preorder. The rep stayed on while I ordered through the Apple Store app, took about 5 minutes and my eligibility was restored. Got my pickup window for 10:00 right when they open.

I just did the same thing. There were several Apple stores in the area with a SG256 so I cancelled my preorder 11/2-11/10 and I'm picking mine up in an hour at Apple
Had ship date of 11/2-11/10 still in progress, checked stock on apple store. 5 stores in Houston had stock so scheduled a pickup for today. Woohoo. 256 silver. ATT preorder cancelled!!!
I have an ATT business account. Just ordered the 256 Silver over the phone. Was given a shipping within 20 days estimate.

I just did this and I have a pickup scheduled in 2 hours!!! Been sitting on "in progress" since the 27th. However, it wouldn't allow me to use my upgrade on At&t Next through Apple. So, I just bought the phone outright and I'll sell it when my preorder gets here. Thanks for the heads up!
Good for you. The first people buy it thinking it will change their life and then they realize it is just a phone

I am super glad that Apple has in-store stock even the day after launch. I even just checked the site out of curiosity and saw 5 different stores in my area (DMV) with 256 SG available.
None in the Silver though, which I am realizing might be the darling now? Not that I don't understand. It's beautiful and I can't stop looking at it.

My Silver 256 has a shipping estimate of 12/4-12/11, which is fine with me. I have the 8+ so I'm not in a huge hurry to get the X. However, my status has changed to "Preparing to ship". But I'm going to try to tell myself to expect it next month just to avoid getting too anxious.
DFW area Apple stores are now all sold out of ATT models. They were available in all except Fort Worth this morning...even Austin. No longer the case. Will be curious to see when these stores get a refresh of stock. Will it be Monday or later in the week?
I called up AT&T to confirm how activation worked since I was going to activate the X on a different line than the upgrade I used and, after seeing it mentioned in this thread, I asked about the BOGO offer. They gave me a free 64GB iPhone 8 with a new line! So we’re going to change a phone number once it arrives and we delete one line, but otherwise, thanks for helping me get a free second iPhone!
My local stores (Salt Lake City) all have stock as of right now. 1 store has all 4 configurations in stock and ready to activate. Seems super strange to me...
Good day my Apple friends. Glad to see that many have received their iPhone X and some are receiving shipping notifications. Like some, Im still awaiting mine as I am in the Nov 2nd to Nov 10th group. Ordered the iPhone X Silver 256 @7:01AM. Attempted to order at 3:00AM but had problems so I went back to sleep. So tempted to cancel order and do Apple Store pickup like many are doing. But, Im going to wait it out. The past few launches I have ordered around that same time and have received shipping notifications the Saturday after launch. Hoping it plays out the same way.

Just got an email from AT&T that they are able to ship my iPhone X earlier than promised. So instead of shipping 12/4-12/18 it is now supposed to ship between 12/4-12/11.
Not much of a difference...
