Estimated ship dates 11/2-11/10 just updated from "in progress" to "preparing to ship." I no longer have the option to cancel my order either! Maybe these are finally shipping out!! I was getting ready to cancel and just head to my local apple store!

Not to burst your bubble, but my SG 256 (10/27 3:34 ET am preorder) with a 12/4-12/18 ship date has been in "Preparing to Ship" mode for days....
I just got an email that says my phone is available to ship earlier and it changed to “backorder”. It shows the ship date of late November now instead of December. I thought it went to backorder when it was getting ready to ship?
I've always ordered through AT&T. If you're doing AT&T Next and go through the Apple store, do they take your old phone on the spot or do you have to ship it back to AT&T?

Mine also says backorder when I do *6737 but my ship date is set for late November. Is it shipping early?
If you're going to go to The Apple Store make sure you complete your order online and make a reservation window. There we about 100 people in line for walk in's at my local store. I had a pickup appointment and walked right in, was out with my new phone in 13 minutes.
I’m waiting in line to pick up my reserved phone right now and it looks like it will take about an hour of waiting. Ugh

Well, talk about a pleasant surprise. As of yesterday, my order (placed around noon on order day through Premier) still showed an estimated delivery between 12/4-12/11. Just a couple of hours ago I got an shipment confirmation. My phone is in Fort Worth and should arrive Monday!

We don't really know but ive read other peoples shipping after it changes to backorder.
My ship date was 11/02-11/10. Several days ago the status changed to preparing to ship/backordered on *6737 and until I received it (yesterday) the ship date hadn't changed. So I would say if your phone is preparing to ship/backordered, that means it's on its way to you and you can disregard the ship date

I was told I couldn’t add a line at the Apple Store. So I went to ATT first to start a line and then placed an order for pick up at the Salem,NH Apple Store. I ordered at 11am and had a 130-2pm reservation but didn’t get the phone until 250 or so. No one was able to just walk in and pick up.
How long did it take from "preparing to ship" until you received it? Mine just switched over today and its being shipped to my local AT&T store.

Starting to get a little annoyed . I’m still on “in progress” 11/2-11/10. I’m hearing people getting their phones when they had a later date than me :/

I missed it by 20 minutes. The time I spent arguing with the AT&T receptionist who kept saying they don't sell Sim cards.
I’m WAY past annoyed. I tried to order at 2 AM however Apple and AT&T servers kept erroring out. I gave up an hour later and went back to sleep. Then when I woke up Friday I decided to see if I could order one. Order was placed at 6:59 AM Central time. I am still stuck in “in progress”. People that ordered after me or didn’t even preorder at all have their phones. I am flat out pissed!

There was some for most of the day in the 12 near me. It updated around 7 this morning. Unfortunately I had to go to AT&T first to get my line freed and missed out.
MIne finally switched to “preparing to ship” earlier today. Hopefully yours switches soon!
