Mine came with a return label and strip of tape but no instructions. I just called AT&T and they said to use that label, and box the iPhone X came in. Said be sure to get receipt from USPS just in case. Sending in phone only, no accessories.
I ordered at 7:59 EST so I hope mine ships soon. I am checking the Apple store hourly to see if they get any stock.
Which version did you order? Mine is the Silver 256.
I ordered the Space Grey 64. Not sure if it matters but mines also being shipped to my local AT&T retailer instead of my home.

So I tried to order a phone through Apple and they say I am not eligible for NEXT. Meanwhile I can order though NEXT on ATT's website. Anyone seen this before? What's up with that?

I know I've tried and they told me that unless they miss the ship date times that they couldn't do anything.

Was going to send mine back in but got $480 from GameStop for my 7+. Will pay off the remaining balance and still make a little profit. Also, was very hesitant to mail it in because of exactly your situation.Interesting..the printed instructions I got with all three X’s said specifically do NOT include anything in the box except the old iPhone...no accessories, no SIM card, no packaging. Make sure the iPhone is wiped and Find My iPhone is turned off.
The instructions did say get a receipt from USPS.
You will probably get a text from them once they receive the iPhone. My advice is to keep that text!!! One year I got the “We got it” text, then 10 days later got a “We DIDN’T get it, and we’re charging you for the remaing Next balance” text. Wtf?!?
I went to the local AT&T store and showed them the ‘We got it” text. After making a few calls they credited my acccount for the full amount. Whew!!
I also have December dates. I ordered at 3:30am eastern and got a November 3rd date. Then I got an email at around 7am with the December dates. I’m a Premiere customer and this is the price I pay for getting a pretty good deal on my monthly plan.
They said two things to me on the phone today. First is that it was billing related and that it was declined then reprocessed. Then that person’s supervisor told me that it had to do with a team that sets the phone up for activation having to “push” the order through. I didn’t know what to do and they weren’t going to fix my delivery date, so when my car infotainment system restarted in the middle of this conversation with ATT, I just let it go lol.That's my case exactly. I saw the phone I preordered available at an Apple Store at 6am on Saturday but decided not to be that guy.
It's more of a concern of further screwing things up, not being able to get it canceled, the hassle of having to return a phone that I was unable to cancel, something going wrong with the Apple order again.
