Just an update from me.
I ordered from AT&T as a line upgrade for the 30 month finance plan.
I ordered at 3:45 PM on 10/27.
Originally received an estimated delivery of 12/4-12/18. This past Saturday it changed to 12/4-12/11.
Yesterday it changed status to preparing to ship in the evening.
Overnight it was shipped and is now on the FedEx truck for delivery today!
Very happy and hope others get theirs soon.

Good to see orders starting to ship. Gotta admit that I’m surprised mine hasn’t had any movement after seeing people with much later ship dates receiving theirs. All I can say is that I will never preorder with ATT again. I would much rather get a later ship date from Apple than have ATT do this to me again. I feel like they intentionally stated earlier ship date just to get the sale.
 
Lol so still in process for my 6am Eastern 2-10 delivery window. I bought a 64gb locally a few days ago but wasnt sure if that was enough but it is so I canceled my 256 I ordered online.

I sent the phone back in its box with accessories,I traded in the 8 plus and I couldn't see just throwing it in the box with no protection as it might end up broken so I put it in its original box for protection,guess I should of kept the accessories.

I wrapped mine in some bubble wrap to avoid cracked screens. I’ve done that every year and all has been well (knocks on wood).

I like that I end up with extra cables and chargers, they come in handy. I sell the extra Lightning EarPods on eBay.

Extremely happy for everyone getting their phones, my anger isn’t towards you in the slightest.

If I preorder early , then I expect the damn phone maybe a day or two after release date. Hell I’d expect it on release date.

AT LEAST update my info from “in progress”, then I know what’s going on.

I still have a delivery date of 11/27-12/4 here, hoping to get moved up soon.

Wonder how Apple decides to give ATT more or if they prioritize from their own store, etc. If they prioritize their own shipment im not even sure how i could get mine by 12/4 since the demand is this high.

Excitement has definitely dropped and that has caused me to consider cancelling my order. I’m happy with my 7 plus and don’t NEED a new phone, but I want a new phone.

Do you actually think any of you would be happier if you saw the word "in progress" change to "backordered"? I think you would be just as ticked off. The wording "in progress" simply means "backordered". Simple.

No one will be able to escalate my call past the heavily accented offshore "customer support specialists" My blood pressure will rise, my disappointment will deepen, my local Apple and AT&T stores will not have any stock showing every morning at 6am. I will be unable to cancel my AT&T "pre-order"

This gloom and doom will magically vanish if I get a shipping notice before Friday. But that is feeling increasingly unlikely.

My X is scheduled to ship in mid-December. Checked on ATT site today and it says "preparing to ship" with the same mid-December shipping dates. Called ATT and rep. said it really isn't shipping. It is their way of confirming that is the model I wanted. Oh, well. I got excited there for a moment.

I’m to the point where I feel the same way. I truly believe there is a “black hole” of sorts for some orders and they are just out there on space and will get overlooked continuously.
 
As long as it’s working with no physical damages you would. It would have been $400 but if you are their elite pro member you’ll get an additional 20% more, so $480. The membership is $30. So in actuality, $450 if you purchase their membership.
I can confirm this. I called them last night and they said $480. Cash!
