Carrier AT&T Pre-Order and Dispatch Thread

My earliest delivery is Dec 4. Yesterday was Nov 15. So it takes 19 days for USPS to deliver an iPhone? Sheesh.
I didn't get my Premier order in until 11/3 so seeing that you ordered way before me doesn't give me much hope. Even Apple is now quoting only 2-3 weeks ship. At this rate, new orders placed TODAY on Apple direct would probably arrive faster than what AT&T is doing. Most of the Apple thread is quieting down from the pre-orders, so most of their 10/27 orders have been fulfilled it appears.
If it wasn't for the fact that I had to do Premier through my company, I would have gone to Apple. They are getting most of the phones, and the carriers are getting last pick. Carriers are always the slowest route anymore and should be avoided unless you HAVE to go premier on a corporate responsibility device.
I wanted to share my experience with delivery from AT&T via Premier. This is how my orders went:
Line 1: Silver 256gb
- Ordered at 3:36a (ET) on 10/27
- On 10/28, ATT website showed a delivery date of 11/3
- Rec'd shipment notification on 11/1
- Delivered on 11/3
Line 2: SpaceGray 256gb
- Ordered at 2:30p (ET) on 10/27
- On 10/28, ATT website showed a delivery date of Dec 4 - 18
- On 11/4, ATT website showed a delivery date of Dec 4 - 11
- Rec'd shipment notification on 11/14
- Delivered yesterday, 11/15
Honestly no idea how some people get earlier shipments than others, just wanted to share my info.

This is absolute BS. My USPS didn’t receive it and said it would be here tomorrow. I’m fuming, this is ridiculous. I’m tired of this ****
Talked to an ATT CSR for the hell of it this morning. Asked them the same thing. The only thing they could tell me was that some orders got caught up in a systems glitch. From what I have read there doesn’t seem to be any pattern to the glitch tho. I ordered a Silver 256GB at 7:56AM on 10/27. Got a delivery window of Nov 2-10. Got it on the 6th. Ordered an SG 256GB 6 minutes later and got delivery window of Dec 1-15. Has been In Progress since the 27th. I see some folks didn’t get there phone until today despite having the same Nov 2-10 window as me. Some folks have had theirs sent early and some have received theirs without getting no change in the notification. I just wish there was some sort of recognizable method to the madness.
The Space Gray 256 GB was the most popular model this year and due to limited production yields, other configurations were fulfilled faster.

That's horrible man. I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe you can head over to the post office when they open in the morning to pick it up?
I was planning on getting there at 8am and just picking it up, overslept so I had to wait till noon for it to be delivered to my house. I remember at an old apartment I was staying at, my mail didn't come till around 4pm each day. i had a game I ordered, so instead of waiting for it, I just headed over to the post office with my ID and order number when they opened and they just gave me it instead of waiting.

Yes, that is well known. What is frustrating to many is the sequencing of orders. The timing of an order placement is not corresponding to the delivery date, as many SG 256's have been shipped to those whose order date is later. Appears Premier customers have more slipped orders than most in the small sample here. Whether it's FIFO or LIFO it's FUBAR for many.
I just don't get what is so difficult about shipping an item in order from when it was placed. We all have documentation of it so what's the issue? we shouldn't have to wait this long for our devices especially if we got up early to preorder. If its after preorder day? fine. I totally understand. There should be no reason as to why some people are getting the phone before someone else when they placed the order later.

Honestly what the hell...
I pre-ordered my iPhone on AT&T business premier at 8:18am Eastern time (5 hours after pre order started) on 10/27/17. Model: Space Grey, 256GB. My order is still showing in progress... how in the world would you get your phone already shipped when you ordered on the 3rd? Yet I ordered the 1st day of pre orders..... this is such nonsense.... AT&T is horrible

Yeah but it kind of depends of the model/color he's talking about. The 64 Gig Silvers are becoming pretty available now. Every Apple store in Colorado had them this am. The 256GB SG (which I also ordered) are still pretty limited. It appears more demand for SG than Silver and 256 definitely more in demand.
I understand that the space gray and especially the 256gb configuration is more popular this year... I am completely at peace with that.
On the other hand, I am not okay with the amount of posts I have read about people that have ordered the same exact configuration iPhone X (SG 256GB) as me, ordering the same way with AT&T and/or their 'premier', also having ordered (10/27, 8:18am Est.) after the time i had ordered... with them receiving an update past 'in progress' and/or their phones being shipped already and also some receiving theirs.... It is very discouraging... and this whole process just seems screwed the eff up
got mine at 2pm! well thats the end of the ride. its kinda fun waiting for it tbh. well thats that until next year
Yeah it was definitely a rollercoaster ride to say the least. How are you liking the phone? I’m loving it besides my otterbox doesn’t seem to play well with the phone . I can’t get the volume rocker to work while the case is on. Works fine without the case
On Monday I posted on this forum that my shipping window was only 13 days away, that it would open on 11/27.
At 3:33 today I got a text that my iPhone X had been shipped!!! Wahoo!!!

i didnt think it through and had to get a case with one day delivery on amazon so have not taken the plastic it came with. so cant really comment on the feel till the plastics off but phone's screen is definitely amazing quality. it kinda feels like a small S8 with IOS on it which is a good thing
Yeah, I’m coming from the 7 Plus and this phone is so much more comfortable to use .
I’m rocking it without a case currently until I get my case figured out. Feel hefty (in a good way). You going with a screen protector ? I immediately put a tempered glass one on it after I took the plastic off haha
64 GB SG is what I have coming. I did have three pre-orders including one with 11/3 delivery canceled before the 11/3 order that just shipped. This has been a frustrating experience as a new customer.
