I understand that the space gray and especially the 256gb configuration is more popular this year... I am completely at peace with that.

On the other hand, I am not okay with the amount of posts I have read about people that have ordered the same exact configuration iPhone X (SG 256GB) as me, ordering the same way with AT&T and/or their 'premier', also having ordered (10/27, 8:18am Est.) after the time i had ordered... with them receiving an update past 'in progress' and/or their phones being shipped already and also some receiving theirs.... It is very discouraging... and this whole process just seems screwed the eff up
Its a disgrace that AT&T is still not shipping orders from 10/27 as you said others got the same model ordered even after your order was in. I would call them and complain. Unless you are taking a huge corporate price break like I am (and stuck with AT&T Premium), you could cancel and take your chances with an Apple reservation.

AT&T is still quoting me mid December, even though I ordered on 11/3 and Apple is now only quoting 2-3 weeks themselves. If I had a 10/27 order I would be totally hacked off at this point.

64 GB SG is what I have coming. I did have three pre-orders including one with 11/3 delivery canceled before the 11/3 order that just shipped. This has been a frustrating experience as a new customer.
FWIW, the 64GB are more readily available now, if you dont want to keep jacking with AT&T's mess of an order system - you could take your chances with an Apple In-store reservation. In CO where I live, there were lots of 64GB at Apple stores this AM for reservations depending on where you live.

I’m pulling for all you waiting for the phone . Just know that it’ll be well worth the wait when you get it in your hands .

Cheers

Got my phone and now it won't activate. I'm an hour from my AT&T store. I'm about to return it and go to verizon. AT&T rep was useless

Mine didn’t activate either at first . Tried the activation number and then tried doing it on their website. Just give them a call and talk to a customer service rep. Worked fine for me after I called .

It was a SIM problem, had to go to walmart and spend 10 bucks on a prepaid one. I'm trying everything here. I can't be without a phone and I have plans in the morning

Damn man. Sorry you’re going through hell, I would of just given you a sim. Not send you somewhere else to buy one. That sucks . Hope things start to smooth over for you

The worst part is, I have a stack of them laying on my desk but that's also an hour away

Pre-paid card wouldn't work so now I'm screwed until tomorrow afternoon. Excellent.

A “go phone sim” or a regular sim shouldn’t matter . I’ve given customers regular SIM cards for their prepaid phones before and vice versa.

But I could definitely be wrong , I’d just say wait till tomorrow and try one of the sims you have on your desk. Did the rep in store check to make sure the IMEI was changed to the iPhone X IMEI and it still wasn’t set to your old phone?

I haven't been in store, when I said rep I meant online AND on the phone. When I go to the store tomorrow, it will be fixed.

Did you really order on the 28th and not the 27th? Was it via AT&T site or Apple? I ordered same phone the 27th at 6am via AT&T site and status is still "In Progress." When I call support, they tell me the same status and that all phones are according to when order was placed? NOT!!! I am seeing many people here getting their phones ahead me. Happy for all of you. Pissed at AT&T though.

I am happy for you but this is so frustrating! I ordered the same gray phone at 6am that day via AT&T site and status still "In Progress!" Support keeps saying they are being shipped according to when the order was placed but this forum has lots of evidence that this is not the case. I have used AT&T for years, also have DirecTV. Do you have some special relationship with them? I am trying to figure out the factors involved since Customer Service knows nothing.

No I ordered on the 28th. I went into the AT&T store to place the order.

I wanted to share my experience with delivery from AT&T via Premier. This is how my orders went:

Line 1: Silver 256gb
- Ordered at 3:36a (ET) on 10/27
- On 10/28, ATT website showed a delivery date of 11/3
- Rec'd shipment notification on 11/1
- Delivered on 11/3

Line 2: SpaceGray 256gb
- Ordered at 2:30p (ET) on 10/27
- On 10/28, ATT website showed a delivery date of Dec 4 - 18
- On 11/4, ATT website showed a delivery date of Dec 4 - 11
- Rec'd shipment notification on 11/14
- Delivered yesterday, 11/15

Honestly no idea how some people get earlier shipments than others, just wanted to share my info.

That's so strange.... your Line 2 is almost exactly what happened to me, but I ordered at 2:30pm on the 28th. So we ordered 24 hours apart, and received our phones only 2 days apart.... not sure, but we may be in the same pattern for whatever algorithm AT&T is using.... info below

Space Grey 256GB
- Ordered at 2:30p (ET) on 10/28 <--------
- Gave me an initial shipping date of Dec 4-18
- On 11/4, ATT website updated shipping date to Dec 4-11
- Rec'd shipment notification on 11/15
- It just arrived in Nashville an hour ago (I live in Nashville)
- Scheduled delivery tomorrow

Apple Store App is the best way to preorder atm. Then Apple.com, going through a carrier usually makes the wait longer.

I was30 minutes late to order, tried Apple, not working too well. Went to ATT and ordered slate grey. It was at my doorstep on release day except wrong color, silver and with my wife's phone number. As I had sold my old phone, I told ATT I wanted the correct color. They kept denying me and then wanted me to bring the phone in, offload all my data, get a loaner and come back when the new phone arrives in a month and a half. I told them that would not work and I should not be responsible for something that was not my fault. I finally got a chat representative who saw that my concerns were addressed. Correct color phone is coming and i am using the old one which I will return to them once the replacement arrives.

Ordered, Space Gray 256, 11/6, original ship date mid December, bettered to 12/5-12/12. Notified - shipped 11/16 for delivery 11/17.

Was this from AT&T direct or Apple? Premier Business customer? I have the same config from Premier ordered 11/3. Still showing mid-December no movement at all, in process.

I didn't get my Premier order in until 11/3 so seeing that you ordered way before me doesn't give me much hope. Even Apple is now quoting only 2-3 weeks ship. At this rate, new orders placed TODAY on Apple direct would probably arrive faster than what AT&T is doing. Most of the Apple thread is quieting down from the pre-orders, so most of their 10/27 orders have been fulfilled it appears.

If it wasn't for the fact that I had to do Premier through my company, I would have gone to Apple. They are getting most of the phones, and the carriers are getting last pick. Carriers are always the slowest route anymore and should be avoided unless you HAVE to go premier on a corporate responsibility device.

I also had to go thru Premier because of our company. I know if I could had ordered my phone without using Premier I would already have my phone. I am starting to wonder what the advantages of Premier really are.

The only advantage of it is the business cost negotiation of equipment pricing which is why I went this way. But, it appears to be slower as the poster said above - he ordered the most in demand model on 11/6 and already shipped and arrived. It could very well be that Premier(Business) is fulfilling slower than a Consumer (non-business) order, given AT&T it would not surprise me.

Kind of funny that AT&T is still quoting 4-5 weeks on their site for a Black/SG 256GB - Dec 18th-Dec 26th ship for orders placed today. This is double Apple's new estimates of 2-3 weeks. Mine placed on 11/3 still hasn't budged since order, still showing Dec 11-18th

That and the fact they are getting half the revenue for some - we are grandfathered so the 256GB model is $699. Maybe AT&T wants to ship the full price units and short change the businesses who have grandfathered pricing in order to boost initial revenues....
