I ordered a 256 silver on 10/27 at 8:30am CST and order status is "In progress". It used to be "preparing for shipment". We'll have to wait and see....For those of us potentially just past 11/3 delivery, let’s track our progress here.

Have you contacted them? I’ve gotten those on past orders and if you don’t contact them your order will be canceled,they usually give 7 days for you to contact then cancel the order but even if it says in progress believe me it won’t ship they will cancel it if they don’t hear from you so give them a call usually it’s to verify your identity or something so if you haven’t contacted them I would call as soon as possible so you keep your nov 3rd delivery date.
happened to me. had to do with their system not sending me the terms and conditions that i needed to sign. once i got that sorted it was fine.I was on a cruise ship in the Caribbean and ordered via ATT about 3:20am EST. I got the email about contacting them or else they'll cancel my order. No idea what the issue was, but it says Nov 3 delivery date. Showing "In Progress." I don't feel good about this. I ordered through Apple and got a delivery date of Dec XX, will cancel that one if ATT comes through.

I am working from home on Friday myself and hoping mine gets delivered earlier rather than later. Sometimes on I-day it is around lunch time and others it is after 4.
definitely wasn't insinuating anything at&t agents say is true. I agree they will probably ship Wed/Thurs.10:45am order for a Silver 256. Date range is 11/2 to 11/10 and still "In Progress". Just got off chat with a agent and I was assured my phone will ship on 11/2 and be to my porch on launch day. I know you can only trust about .0012% of what the chat agents say but, it's better than bad news to the folks in the 11/2-11/10 boat.

I don't know when it started, at least five years ago, but Apple the shipper requires a delivery attempt at the delivery address before they allow changes to the shipping directions.
It makes it harder to fraud the delivery and that's easier to do then you'd like to know.

This is basically how I went about my pre-order. It was very smooth, and I worried I’d done something wrong. I had no issue.So, I'm curious if anyone has been reading any reports anywhere on this but I'm curious about a couple things related to AT&T's new method of preordering. First, how I did it was I logged into my account and left it at the upgrade page at 9:00pm central. Set my alarm and came back about 1:50am and the screen was now on the AT&T count-down Iphone X preorder page and jumped right to the count-down at 2:00am. It said it was holding my queue and I had a 4 minute wait. I never touched the screen-no refreshes. Ordered and done with a confirming email at 2:09.
It seems to me that AT&T's method of telling me I was in a queue and showing me a timer kept me from killing their network with refreshes. The question I have is whether my logging in early and leaving it there put me higher in queue and/or not refreshing the page kept me in a better position. It seemed to work very smooth to me, but I see others had a number of issues with their place in queue being cancelled and other delays. I wonder if refreshing was one of the problems for them. Or possibly having multiple pages open under the same account in different queues was screwing things up for them?
BTW, I did the same thing with Apple.com, both on my computer and on my iphone. Didn't get into the apple store on either until at least 15-20 minutes after launch
