I saw that the 6+ SG 64gb was available for pickup in the 5th Ave Apple store (im in Brooklyn). So I cancelled my pre-order and have it for in-store pickup today. I'll leave in a bit. Why did I pre-order at all?

Are you a new customer or are you upgrading your old phone? They told me it'll take 24 hours for my upgrade eligibility to show up again
 
Well friends, I finally got my phone and am good to go. Those of you who are stuck, I would strongly encourage you to look into canceling your pre-orders and checking out your local apple store. I did that this morning and there was not only plenty of availability but I was able reserve one online and after I got a text confirmation that my phone was ready, I showed up and was 5th in line and had phone in hand about 15 min later. I will never ever ever ever ever pre-order from AT&T again.

What kind of line was yours.. a NEXT or a normal line? I'm hearing so many differing replies as to if they can or can't do a NEXT line.

It doesn't take 24 hours. They told me 3-5 days... just goes to show how all over the place AT&T is.

I wasn't NEXT. I did a 2 yr upgrade and I guess I'm a "Premier" customer. I did hear people on here mentioning that was an issue. On the apple site when you go to order you are asked if you want to do a 2yr plan or change to NEXT.

I cancelled online and after a few emails my eligibility was back instantly.
 
For people that canceled their att orders, how long did it take for your upgrade eligibility to show up on your account again?
 
I'm not sure if RadioShack takes preorders. The AT&T rep told my wife that every iPhone that comes to the store must be used for those who reserved. I hope that's true.

Were you able to snag any yet?

I got a call from radio shack in montehiedra thru have iphone 6 available but no 6+
 
Congrats!! I'm waiting on confirmation for my 128 GB space gray plus myself. When did you place your order and when did you receive confirmation from ATT?

I placed my order before the official preorder time. I got the "Thank You for your Order" email at 2:00 Central, and I got the "You recent Order Status" email later that morning at around 5:30.

Original shipping estimates were 10/13-10/22, then bumped up to 10/2-10/13, now I'll be getting it Monday!
 
see i did in store pick up paid like 649 for a plus 64 gig... I'm just going to get att to not charge me the 40 bucks a month and revert me back to my old plan since they couldn't fix their site and order process
 
Holy Jesus!!!! One of my orders just changed to shipped! No tracking number yet, will post pics when I get one! WOO HOO keep the faith.

Hello all! Supreme lurker here. Been with this thread since day 1. First post. Just want to give some hope to all those that still have a 10/2 - 10/13 "ship date". I am a premier customer, ordered 128gb SG 6+ about 30 min into the preorder. Initially received the 7-14 business day email, then the bumped to 10/13- 10/22 email. However got moved back to the classic 10/2
HAD LOST ALL HOPE
However, I just got a text from ATT w/ fedex tracking number for MONDAY 9/22 delivery!
There's still hope guys :)

Jrnation: In store they can? Because I have been hearing multiple reports that they can't and it has to be done through you all. The last rep I talked to say for anything NEXT related it has to be done through you.

So... from the sounds of it.. if you can find one at the Apple store.. get AT&T to cancel your preorder and then reserve your Apple store phone.


Edit - its funny to see how quick this thread is slowing down. With each person that gets an iPhone the replies quickly drop.
 
Just got my iphone AT&T in-store walk i (reg. - not the plus). Didn't want to wait. Successfully cancelled my pre-order premier online but my current att-next installment plan at AT&T corp. store said may take 3 days to fix to reset my eligibility. I decided to just buy with no contract...rep at store said no additional line needed and I can keep my phone and continue att-next payments or return to stop payments (All because bought with no contract).
I decided to not get the iPhone 6 plus. Delaware AT&T corp. store only had iPhone 6 128 gb models - two silver and five gold. Probably gone now. I got the silver.
 
One down, one to go!

6+ 64g SG - ordered before midnight, confirmation email received before midnight.

You ordered at 12:30PST and got a tracking number??? When did you get your first confirmation email?

But you can't do next plan at Apple correct?
 
Jut checked 3 local apple stores and all have plenty of 6 in Stock. 0 6+ at any of them.

I am not going to settle for the 6 because of ATT crap.

I'll wait it out and get the one I want.
 
My 6+ preorder was "preparing for shipment" in the 10/2-10/13 range like everyone else. This morning I got a fedex tracking number. It will be here Monday.

Note that my order was a premier order. I was also one of those people whose order was "canceled" (the reason being I was ineligible for upgrade, which was incorrect).

128GB space gray 6+, premier order placed 11:54PM PDT Sep 11. Order confirmation received 12:10AM PDT Sep 12.

LOL. I just got two emails from ATT. One saying my premier order is canceled and one saying my premier order is shipped. Both containing the same order number. ATT's systems are messed up.
 
I just tried to do it via Apple's website and it said they couldn't process a Next order (not a new Next customer, I'm an existing one).

Just to clarify, has anyone been able to cancel their ATT preorder and upgrade their Next account to the iPhone 6 in an Apple store?

Nope. I canceled my order with AT&T AFTER I was told I could do it at the Apple Store. Same thing; if you're existing, you're SOL.
 
But buddy, here is what I didn;t thin about when you said that... you're paying for your phone twice. With the NEXT they charge you monthly for the phone.. but don't charge you up front or an activation fee. If you get the new phone from Apple under a 2 year upgrade you're playing an activation fee and the $299 or whatever for the phone you want. How would you get the money back? AT&T wouldn't refund it since you got it from Apple.

ATT will credit you. They are very reasonable about it. Remember there isn't an bogus $40 activation fee with ATT next.

You aren't going to be double charge for it. They will refund you the subsidized price you paid. And put you on installment plan.

Oh the humanity...

So after much deliberation i cancelled my att premier order for iphone 6 plus 64GB space gray, since i got in within mins of pre-order launch and today i'm seeing apple stores getting inventory for them scattered about. Figured instead of reading so many people getting tracking numbers not only today but throughout the week, it was disheartening to see mine still in limbo every time i refreshed the ***** pages. So seeing on the apple app DOES accept att next, i started to get excited only to find out they DON"T accept in store pickup through next. I've heard stories that apple is able to do it, but i don't want to have to go all the way across town (since the closest wasn't available) to find out no. So i contemplated going in and testing the 6 versus the 6 plus and if the 6 is good enough, than i'll get it (since there is an absurd amount avail). I have to say, the 6 plus is quite a monster and is a bit awkward to hold. Yet, so is the regular 6 in a way. But comparing the displays? To me the plus wins hands down. I like the 6, but when holding the 6 plus it gives me the feeling i have a whole new smartphone. The 6 makes it feel like an improvement over the 5 and 5s, but something about that gorgeous display for the 6 plus is hard to beat. Anyways, i ordered through apple app today for delivery since i cant pick up in store through next and delivery estimate is unfortunately oct 21-28. Somehow though, i'm much more confident apple will pull through for me in a better way than att has so far.
