AT&T Pre-order status

Glad I could bring some joy to this frustrating situation. Either way, I am a premier customer and haven't gotten my phone, no updates in over a week, and no ray of light yet that the configuration I ordered is being received by anyone.
 
This is crazy... still no movement on my stupid 10/2-13 date. No store in the entire southeast has the 6+ in... The only sign of hope is that 5 planes landed yesterday... ones about to land in a few minutes.. and two more take off today.

Same for me (in the NE). 128 6+, gold. Ordered about 45 minutes after pre-orders went live and got confirmation email almost immediately. Sitting at 10/2-10/13. I am increasingly of the mind that those will be the actual dates.
 
now that i think about it, if there are none 6+ available for pickup at my apple store, there is zero chance of me driving by this morning and them having 6+ available eh?

Do they keep some stock for walk-ins? I felt like they did before but who knows about 6+ situation.

I thought the same thing... and went yesterday to see if they did, even though online they said they didn't. At 10 when they opened they walked out and said they didn't have any phones.

So.. I'm just going to wait and see online when they get one. Since there was a ton of planes that landed yesterday I think theres a good chance stores will start to get even a few in. Reserving online gives you time to cancel your order and figure it all out vs walking in store then trying to cancel and not knowing how long it will take for the system to refresh so Apple can give you your discount.

You can.. but.. I wouldn't do it until you have a phone in front of you, or know theres some at Apple so you can reserve it online then pick it up.


At this point.. I'm considering trying Walmart... Radioshack.. and all these other small places. Maybe they have one or two in and people aren't thinking about going ot these places. I know for midnight video game launches.. Gamestop has some 100-500+ people in line for major games and I literally just walk into walmart without a preorder and walk out at 12:05... maybe I can get lucky.

You can.. but.. I wouldn't do it until you have a phone in front of you, or know theres some at Apple so you can reserve it online then pick it up.

luckily i have other people on my family account that are looking for 6+ too. so ill keep my at&t preorder and try my luck.

doubt other retails will have 6+ for a few months though.


Speaking of Apple. I don't think i've ever bought an iphone there retail. Do I need ID? Must I be the primary account holder of the at&t account, or an authorized user fine?

Authorized user works. You could always ask for the last 4 on the social of your parent or whoever is the primary. But yeah, authorized user should get you covered just fine. I prefer to but the phones at Apple.. everything just works, it's pretty quick, and you have fun while you're in there too.

I got a text from ATT!.....😱 To tell me I changed my email address. 🙁


From the flight tracker site, if im reading it right, it looks like 5 more planes are on their way to the U.S.?
 
Yeah - my time with AT&T chat reps/instore managers/ phone reps has been a complete joke as well.

I'm done talking to them. Email the CEO of the company and you'll get a response by someone in the presidents office.. they are much more willing to talk to you and treat you like a human. You may not get a phone any faster but.. at least you can vent to them and know your concerns will be heard.

2 are headed to US right now. 1 just landed in KY and 5 landed last night.

I know if you order from Apple.com you get your tracking number when it leaves China, How about AT&T? does it have to come to state side and get sorted for to AT&T before we get a tracking number?

As did I.. at least for my area. Planes can get from KY to my area in about an hour so I thought for sure there would be stock to go around.

I have to get some stuff done during the day and I think I'll just swing by the Apple store just for the hell of it. I want to get my hands on the 6+ again just to make sure one final time its the phone I want.


Still waiting to hear back from the CEO's office on a followup of our conversation. Sent 3 separate emails over the weekend updating them of all the bs that's been going on. I'm glad I had an issue with them prior to the launch so it just builds onto my case of ongoing issues.


***** For those who are trying to find a phone at Apple.. check out this page. This grid system makes it so much easier for you to tell when they have any phones without you having to constantly check. The numbers in the boxes mean now many minutes have passed since it last checked. Usually, it checks every 5-10 minutes.
