I agree with something being screwed up. IstockNow.com, updated very often, shows NOTHING in stock as far as the 6+'s go. http://flightaware.com/live/iphone as of this minute has no flights in the air.

Baseless wishful thinking theory of mine: What if Apple knew albeit too late of the "bendgate" issue being worse on the 6 Plus? What if they stalled up shipping to correct the problem? Could it be too far fetched to try and "thicken up" the back of the case's inside and they are just quiet about it? "Quickly! Let's sell whatever we got left of the initial batch while we correct the problem and release the revised case as soon as we can... November 9 to November 27th... blame it on demand!"

I thought about that too, but a) CR claims the bending issue is worse on the 6, b) most of the delay seems to be based on memory chips, but most importantly c) Apple would have to deal with almost everyone who got the original phones trying to get the new version as soon as it was discovered.
Apple could try reformulating the metal used to make the case, but I don't think they will change the shape of the part.
This is one of the rare cases I think Apple should have charged more money: a $200 premium for the 128GB versus the 64GB model instead of $100, and likewise for the 6+ versus the 6 would have helped demand better match supply.
Sometimes I feel like Apple is trying to make people buy iPhones with the white front versus the black front as a branding move, which might explain why it seems easier to find non-SG models in larger sizes/memory capacities. Who knows, maybe the ugly back of all of the phones is to help sell cases.
I believe you can. I saw the Next option on store.apple.com website, and the Target sales rep asked me as well, whether I wanted to go with Next (I did not).

whatever is available is always the opposite of what I was looking for...or maybe I'm just unlucky lol. For me the 6plus in gold in 64/128 is showing november at the earliest when I ordered last week and that hasn't changed.
To counter your argument I would've preferred the plus to be standard 64 with the 128gb as the upgrade
.My saga continues. Placed order on 9/19 for a 64 gb SG phone. Used Fedex next day for the shipping. Got an email Friday (10/3) that it had shipped. Then I saw USPS 2nd Day. I recently switched to a PO Box because someone kept messing with my mail - so I have a forward setup. Really hoping that this package doesn't get forwarded to the po box that will add days to it.

Depending on the reliability of Istocknow.com, there are absolutely no iphone 6+'s anywhere. Maybe 1 here or there but that's it! It is plausible that Apple IS secretly reinforcing the pluses or retooling the software. I had read about the software for the pluses being reworked anyway so maybe that is the reason. Who knows. But I will not take the chance of canceling my order with AT&T and re ordering through Apple unless it gets close to the middle of November and I still see no movement. Only then will I make the change. Unless something else comes about to change my opinion then I'll hold what I got.
I ordered a silver 64GB iPhone 6 in the morning of 9/20 through AT&T and received a shipping window of 10/9-10/27. Saturday, I received an odd email from AT&T about a recent change to my service plan, and Sunday (yesterday), I received an email that the phone had shipped for Tuesday delivery.

Ordered Silver 6 16GB on 9/16. Delivery window was 9/25 - 10/06. So today is the last day of delivery window. I don't see any of these phones in my area from anyone. Looks like they are in very short supply. So while many people are hoping for early delivery, and many have had early deliver it's a matter of having the items to ship, look like the wait is going to continue...
That sucks!!! I'm right behind you with that exact phone with a window of 9/29-10/08. Ordered on 9/18. Was hoping that these would start going out. I have to wait for AT&T, but check your local Target or Radioshack as they have been in stock for the last few days throughout the country. Your 16GB silver 6 is just sitting on a target shelf thanks to Apple's clever distribution scheme!
Ordered Silver 6 16GB on 9/15. Window was 9/24-10/3. On 10/3 changed over to "back ordered". No communication at all.
Tried to do the Target/RadioShack/Apple store way, but there were none...frustrating. And my current phone keeps getting worse and worse...now it randomly dials numbers and types for me. Good times.
