In three days it will have been a month since I placed my order, 64gb iPhone 6 + SG. I realize some people ordered on release day and still haven't gotten theirs, but others who've ordered after have.

Honestly, waiting a few weeks after release, okay. One or two months is outrageous and a company like Apple should be able manage its production issues much better than this, there's no excuse. If I weren't locked into the iOS ecosystem I'd seriously be looking at the Nexus 6 or Note 4.

Ordered 9/20. 6+ sg 128 gb.
"Preparing to ship" on 10/29-11/7.
No movement since.

877# says backordered.
Today is I month anniversary.

Ordered via AT&T corporate store on 9/20 w/ zero changes to order status. Anyone with similar order date seeing something different? **Estimated delivery between 10/29 - 11/7

I ordered my 6+ 64 GB Gold on 9/19 and no change. My estimates are between 11/9-11/27. I am just thinking of cancelling with ATT & just directly order through apple., at least they have estimates which are usually quite accurate.

I ordered 9/12 at 8:05 EDT on AT&T regular website. My date was given as 10/13 - 10/22. I called AT&T because of an upcoming vacation starting on 10/17. I was informed that it wouldn't be a problem, the dates that AT&T was giving were overestimated, we'd get them before that.

8 days into my 10 day shipping window, no movement. On vacation without it. #AT&T Fail. Now, I'd love to huff and puff, threatening to terminate AT&T as my service provider. All my phones are out of contract but the reality is that I just don't want to go shopping for rates, phones, microcell, tablets, etc. Of course, AT&T realizes this and as a result, has no incentive to provide better service.

I'm the poster boy for pointing out AT&T's problems with either properly maintaining the queue, correctly estimating fulfillment time at point of sale, mollifying upset customers, and/or correctly tracking and reporting progress from point of sale to delivery.

Unless someone has enough free time to canvass every message on every board, I think it would be difficult to lay blame specifically, or root out the source of the problem. I say this not as an apologist for Apple or ATT, but only by looking at the vast array of variables: 6 or 6 plus? Color? Carrier? Capacity? Destination country? Was it ordered online? Apple.com? ATT.com? Etc? ATT brick and mortar store? Apple Store?

The bottom line: a basic premise of retail from the consumer perspective has been breached or violated. First Come First Served. The internet's instant access to information has clearly exposed this. Yes, you could switch to an android or windows phone to avoid the very much First World problem of not receiving your desired product quickly due to supply constraints, but then... well, enjoy your new OS and ecosystem.

I ordered an iPhone at an ATT retail store on 10/5. The customer rep basically lied telling me it would ship in a couple of days. He also changed my billing to paperless without asking, and pushed unsuccessfully to change me to a Next plan. Lovely experience. My emails stated Preparing to ship from the beginning. The times ping-ponged between 10/8, Early November, 10/10, late November then finally 10/15. (yes, I checked multiple times daily) It is on the truck for delivery today. UPS.

New to the forum... I ordered a 6 Plus SG 64 for myself on 9/24 through ATT business. As well as a regular 6 64 GB Gold for my wife only change is the 6 went from preparing to ship to "back ordered". It changed when her phone went past the stated shipping window. Her estimated ship dates were 10/3-10/14. Still no change.

Ok folks, I officially throw in the towel, I cancelled my order for a 64 GB 6+Gold with ATT and have placed the order through apple directly. I will at least have a predictable delivery date, which is hopefully by thanksgiving at least.

Lessons learnt is never to order through ATT especially if the product is massively sold out. I did wait a month+ patiently thinking it would ship., but I guess I am not patient enough to wait another month.

Now moving on to the Apple thread to bitch & moan ;-)

Cancellation resolved.

I wanted to follow up my post and at least provide information about the resolution of this cancelled order, so that if anyone else had or has the same problem in future, you can see how this one turned out.

I'm usually not one for pulling and end run around the system, but after making multiple calls to customer service and being told there was nothing they could do, and with the escalation team having taken more than 60 hours to get back to me, I finally escalated it myself. On Sunday, Oct. 12 I sent an email to the address for Mr. De la vega that was posted earlier in this thread. In the email I provided my order number, as well as the names of the CS staff with whom I spoke, and the dates of those conversations.

Late in the day on Monday, October 13, I received a call from the office of the president. The person who called was very apologetic, reiterated that the error was a computer error, and they were investigating to ensure that no one else had the same problem.

She also indicated that the CS staff with whom I had spoken would be receiving re-training, as something like this should have been escalated to the office of the president long before my email to them.

Then she offered to have my wife's iPhone 6+ delivered overnight to a store here in Pennsylvania. She assured me it would be available for pickup the next day.

I thanked her but advised her that the store was two hours away, she offered to have a staff member drive it to my location so that I could receive it Tuesday. I told her that wasn't necessary, and that if she would just ship it to a closer store, that would be sufficient. That added a day to our wait, but as I indicated, I wasn't really looking to get it any faster, I just didn't want to go to the back of the line, since I'd preordered so early.

At 10:45 Wednesday, I received a call directly from the manager at the local store who advised the phone was in. I was there by 12:30, and had the phone in my wife's hands shortly thereafter.

Overall, AT&T's service, once the issue was taken to the "top" (or as close to the top as I knew how to get it) was resolved like lightning, with significant apologies at all levels for the added hassle.

Despite the order having been cancelled in error, I had the phone a little more than two days after the projected end-shipping date of 10/13. While it was frustrating for a while, the swift turnaround at the end helped resolve the frustration I was having, and I appreciate all of those folks who assisted in resolving the matter. I already followed up with a thank-you email to Mr. Delavega's address.

Hopefully, if anyone else finds themselves in a similar situation, you can get it resolved more quickly.

Well, I feel compelled to add my own case of woe.

On 9/12, I was up at 3 AM Eastern to order two phones. After the same delay everyone faced, I finally got my phones ordered. My SG 6 and my wife's gold 6+, both at 128gb. Order confirmed within 5 minutes of shipping, both phones to arrive 9/19.

A few hours later, I get a notice that there is a problem with the order -- my bank, apparently concerned about nearly $1,000.00 in charges at 4 AM, decided to decline payment. After getting that straightened out, my 6 was still shipping normally, but the 6+ was delayed until the end of October. Again, nothing you haven't already seen.

Ship date moved up to Oct. 2 to 13, which was exciting. Then, during a particularly bad week this week, I got online to see if my wife's 6 Plus had shipped.

Imagine my surprise to find that the order was cancelled.

After spending time on both chat and with tech support, I was told both times that the error was on the part of AT&T, and that they had no explanation for why it was cancelled. Both initially stated that it was because the # associated with the phone was invalid, but when I pointed out that I've been paying a bill associated with that line for 10 years, they looked a little deeper and discovered I was correct. Then things got weird.

The person I spoke to on the tech support line said, "I see what happened, and I have no protocol to follow on how to deal with it. My hands are tied. The best I can do is reorder now, and give you free shipping."

Well, that's not good enough. So now I'm waiting for a call back from the "escalation team" to figure out what they might be able to do. And it's been two days since then.

So basically, AT&T cancelled my order for no reason that even THEY can figure out, but they can't do anything, yet, except tell me to go to the back of the line and start waiting again.

That's, well, irritating to say the least.

Considering we had identical orders and identical order dates, you'll soon find out if that was a good move or not. I can't cancel my att preorder even if I wanted because it was a very very special retention order.

I agree, I will know soon whether I made the right call or not. Do keep me posted as to when it ships and how soon it ships. I hope it does sooner rather than later.

That's kind of what I am thinking as well although there was some mention of AT&T shipping out Sunday night/early Monday morning.

That's worrisome that it went to backordered after it passed the stated shipping date.

So there wasn't any new shipping window given?

Where O Where Could my iPhone Be... AT&T why did you leave me here all alone!

Hi,

Here is my ordering information ... I have been waiting for a long time. iDeviceChecker has not allowed me to "catch" one in stock.

Ordered iPhone 6 Plus Space Gray 128GB (Non-Premire on AT&T Web Site, on Next Plan)

Your order was placed: 06:54 AM CDT September 12, 2014 Shipping Date: 10/13/14 - 10/22/14

AT&T Pre-order status

No new shipping date still says 10/3-10/14. But just says back ordered.

Small consolation but i know someone whose phone got shipped out a week and a day after the end of the window but the dates never changed.

Have you talked with anyone at AT&T, not that it will help any.
