AT&T - Best Bet for an iPhone plus +

I ordered 5 hours after the preorder started in Sept. Sept 12 to be exact. I have always gotten my phone from AT&T. My ship window was 10/31-11/11. I stopped in a store, called, etc. Got absolutely no useful information. None. So here is the deal. Apple is going to serve there customers first. That includes anyone that goes into a store. Every time someone walks in a store and buys that Plus you want, you just got delayed further. If you really want the phone this year, your going to have to find it locally or hold your breath. Apple employee "I am not sure why AT&T has oversold the 6+, we barely can get them here." So, i suggest to save frustration, do what I did. I used the iPhone inventory tracker, found my phone here in town (we have an apple store) and verified they did have it by phone. Called AT&T and had them cancel and VERIFIED they did it correctly, I was then instantly eligible to buy the phone from Apple (I am a next customer).

Short story: don't ever preorder from AT&T a high demand product. Just work with Apple directly on it. Don't waste your time on a carrier. They are at the mercy of Apple.


The only thing AT&T did right was canceling my order....they even wanted me to do a survey on the customer service....LOL.

Hope this helps someone get there phone they have been waiting on!

P.S. The Iphone 6+ is the best phone I have ever had, buy far......If you know you want this phone, get it. It is FANTASTIC. No wonder they are in such demand.

I went into our local apple store and they said even though my ATT Next plan is eligible for me to get a new phone, i cant do it through them. I have to go to an ATT store or order online through ATT. Did you do your ATT Next upgrade at the apple store? Did they take your old device? I am still lost as i have seen other members say they have done ATT Next upgrades at an Apple store yet i havent been successful the time i tried to.

Dumped AT&T order

So after waiting 45 days for AT&T to do SOMETHING WITH MY ORDER, I finally called and cancelled it, since the Apple stores haven't gotten any gray 128g 6+'s what makes AT&T think THEY will. I thought I would be re-eligible for upgrade right away. So far, 6 hours later, still not eligible. Now I'm out of time in the area near the Apple stores so I have to leave and have to wait MORE!!!!! Starting to be really pissed at AT&T! I will never order from them again.

Ordered 2 Space Gray 6+ 64gb on 9/21. I have a shipping window of 10/29-11/07.

They were both on a premier account.

It's not looking to promising. :confused:

I was going to order from AT&T but when I spoke with the rep he told me that Apple would get the first bash of 6/6+ before they do. So I went to Apple.com and order 64gb 6/6+ on 9/19 and my wife 6 got here on 10/3 and 6+ on 10/16. Glad I ordered from apple and not AT&T. Seeing what every body Is going through now with the the delay shipping etc. U guys just hang in there I know eveyone have been waiting for a long time. But trust me it's well worth the wait, the 6/6+ are amazing.
 
I hear ya. I'm trying to be patient (as I know everyone is) but 47 days in, this is getting a bit ridiculous. The other bummer is I see a 6+ 64 in stock at a target here right now but Im waiting for ATT since they have the guaranteed $200 trade in for this old 4 I have sitting around.

Did you get any update today. My status changed from " Preparing to shipment" to "Back-ordered" :( :( :( I don't see any est. shipping dates mentioned now.

Nope. Exact same for me. Says backordered now. I talked to att and they said they can't tell me anything that I can't already see. They have zero idea when they will get more.

I still see some at Target. I may just cancel.

To add to the whole debacle, my bank reissued ALL of its debit cards "out an abundance of caution" after I had the AT&T store swipe my card. I spent 2 hours working with both in-store personal and several AT&T phone operators trying to update my CC info. No dice- last woman I talked to said I needed to go back the store. Ummm, that's where I went first.

Sent an email to office of president- the guy who called back informed me it was not a customer service issue as AT&T did not "cause the data breach or cancel the original card." WTF???? He is "trying to get it resolved" but it's been 2 days with no update. Not hopeful. What moron designs a sales order system that does not allow updates to payment info?

So I am tempted to cancel my order, find a phone at an Apple store (there is the exact phone I ordered available at a store 5 miles from here right now). Just need to conform I can buy it using NEXT.
 
So got feed up waiting...cancelled my order last week. This morning had the day off, walked into the local Apple Store and picked up 2 gold 64GB iPhone 6+ (they only had gold in stock) in the capacity I wanted.
 
Managed to find a 6+ SG 64gb in stock at Target. Cancelled my Fiances order and grabbed that.

Now to find one more and cancel mine. Thanks for nothing ATT. 50+ days of waiting without any type of correspondence is just unacceptable.

Yes u can I bought my 64gb 6+ SG from apple.com useing AT&T next. Order on 9/19 got it on 10/16

Has anyone on here received a Plus from att. I almost get the impression that no one had.

The issue for me is I'm using an eligibility from one of my other family members to buy an iPhone and I was told by att that apple can't use an upgrade from a family member only the carrier can. So for this reason I'm at AT&Ts mercy.

Ok that's bogus. I used my daughters line eligibility to upgrade my line. I got tired of waiting for AT&T and went to an Apple Store yesterday.

How accurate is the 7-10 days shipping that Att.com and Apple.com have on their site for a 64 gig iphone 6 SG?

My wife and I orderred ours together on 10/24- one 64GB iPhone 6 SG and one 128GB iPhone 6 SG. We just got an email today that they were shipped via FedEx and will be here Tuesday.
 
Damn.. iPhone 6 shipping.. not the 6+...

Still waiting for my iPhone 6 Plus 64gb Gold to ship... Ordered on 9/26.

Hope this makes the rest of you feel better. I ordered my iPhone 6 Plus 128GB Gold on LAUNCH DAY September 12th, 2014 thru AT&T Premier. Still waiting. Day 58.

Man, I don't know why they told you that! That is EXACTLY what I did. I Went into the Apple Store, saw the phone in the reps hands, cancelled the at&t (emphasis on lower case here) order, and got my phone. AND! don't let at&t pull this BS of not being able to instantly make your line eligible for the NEXT program. They can do it. Took a supervisor to do it but they can. Oh, the first rep for at&t said they couldn't. Complete BS!
 
But has anyone got a tracking number or their order of a 6+ from AT&T? This is ridiculous. I've ordered all of my iPhones from the AT&T and never had to wait this long.

Fiiiiiiinally.

After catching up on the forums over the last few days, I was so determined to call AT&T and cancel my order after I found out that each phone we ordered was available at our local Apple store.

Sure enough, we checked our AT&T account online last night and our order for all three phones was marked as "Shipped" and tracking numbers were provided.

In the order:
iPhone 6 SG 128 GB
iPhone 6 Plus Silver 64 GB (x2)

-The iPhone 6 showed delivery dates of 10/21-10/30, and then switched to "Backordered." This was not changed before it was marked as "Shipped."
-The iPhone 6 Pluses both showed shipping dates of 11/19-12/1.

We ordered October 10th through AT&T's website (we do have a Premier account). Our phones are supposed to be delivered on Tuesday...hopefully that will be that.

Crossing my fingers for all of you that are still waiting!
