AT&T Pre-order status

On a side note, there needs to be a sticky on the difference between a "HOLD" and a "CHARGE" on your account. Both affect your account the same way but mean two different things.
 
Wondering if anyone who pre-ordered with at&t got a fedex shipping notification at all? I successfully pre-ordered my phone (16GB+ space grey) at approximately 3:04 a.m. Eastern time. I haven't recieved any myups shipping notices yet; but, I have some what of a sorted history with ups and would prefer Fedex since I have a feeling they dread seeing they have to ship anything to my address haha (I pretty much told them they should change their slogan to "how can brown let you down?") Also, I hope everyone receives their phone on or around launch date. Good luck everyone!

Last 2 iPhones (3GS & IP5) that I pre-ordered through AT&T were sent via Fedex and not UPS. Might be the same for you!

I ordered the same phone, 3 minutes before you, and my initial email said 14 - 21 business days. The status page stated 10/31 - 11/11. Today, it says 10/13 - 10/22. Just goes to show you that is is nearly pointless to put stock in what AT&T currently states as shipping times. This gives me hope to receive mine on 9/19!
 
Ordered at midnight PST on the dot, 64GB iPhone 6. ATT's status page said "between Oct 13 and 31". I checked again last night and it changed to Sept 17-18 for my ship date.

6+ 128gb sg, I am personally taking backordered to be a good thing, better than the original 10/13 - 10/22 I had, I ordered at 12:05 PST
 
Here's my theory:
The majority of 6+'s are going to be shipped directly from China this coming week. This was how it was for the 4s. Because they're literally making our phones right now, exact inventory can't be confirmed. If you believe the rumors prior to announcent, the 5.5 in screen had production issues and the 4.7 had a month head start and were able to start shipping to the US prior to preorders. That's why the 4.7's are much more plentiful and the shipping dates have stayed relatively consistent. As the Plus's start to ship stateside the fist part of this week, shipping dates will get solidified their too.

Just my theory...

I got my order in at 3:04 AM EST for 128GB silver 6 plus. My shipping dates went from 10/13 group to the 10/02 group several hours ago. I also think the ones that say back ordered will be the first to get them based on the 5 launch. Mine was back ordered and I received it on launch day.

We will all know more in the next three days. The dates should change and we should have them if you ordered in the first hour or so on launch day. I read somewhere that Apple spent 31 million dollars to have every commercial shipping plane delivering phones for the next two weeks. AT&T is prob just waiting on some of those planes to land and stock inventory.

That's so hardcore. How much u wanna bet TIM cook gets laid A LOT. I need to run a Fortune 500. Sitting behind a desk spitting orders and doing interviews for a few hundred milly a year? No sweat amirite?

I'm in the back order boat as well. My status was sitting at 10/2 - 10/13 until it shifted to back order today. My configuration is a 6+ 64gb silver, I'm really hoping that the theory that back order is a good thing is correct.

My question for you is how does your UPS recognize that order as being yours without having entered a tracking number given to you by AT&T?

However, this is good news for me as well seeing as I ordered the same model as you and have the same shipping status through AT&T.
 
I ordered a 6 Plus 128 GB immediately after ordering went live. My initial shipping date was 10/13 to 10/22. Today, it moved up to 10/2 to 10/13.

UPS My Choice searches their UPS database for any shipment coming to your address.

I am still unclear as to why anybody calls to an AT&T customer service center for information on their order this early on. They are only going to be able to see what you can see. People calling in are forcing these reps to provide information they simply do not have. Hence, the information they provide is a best guess on their part. I read earlier of a guy who called four times. Three of those four times, he was told that the shipping information was accurate. The fourth rep told him he would get his phone on 9/19. He chose to believe the 9/19 because that is what he wanted to believe.

Bottom line is nobody should be taking much stock in what the AT&T reps say for the next week. Let it all sort out and give the reps a break.
 
Ordered my iPhone6+ 64gb 12:46am est, and my initial order said 14-21 business days, or Oct 2-13, checked again this morning and it is Oct 13-22. I do not understand how I ordered it before 3am and it keeps getting pushed back.....

This happened with my taxes this year.... Ugh is all I can say about that whole ordeal.

Moving on... The post about att inner workings quotes this gem -

"He said Apple is the only hardware vendor that operates this way prior to a launch. They wait until the last possible minute to hand the hardware over to AT&T in order to prevent early leaks."

Which is priceless considering they hand them out before the items are even announced to foreigners who have leaked them previously. Goes to show, you don't have to be smart to be rich. Not even close. No correlation even. Actually most smart people get really bad paying jobs relative like physicist and chemist and rocket scientist.

Moral of the story? Either rhyme words, look pretty in front of a camera, play a game (sport), or make a YouTube channel. Be rich.

Mom says go to school, work hard, be middle class. Good ole usa.
 
Well from what I can tell the backordered status MAY be legit. I posted earlier that UPS my choice shows a 9/19 delivery of a package 1.20 lbs and after looking at the AT&T status my 16GB gold is pending shipment. The silver 64GB is still backordered.

I doubt AT&T would send the shipping info to UPS is they were going to ship both phones.

Oh I'm sure that's what they "think". That is until about 10,000 of us are stomping into stores across the country demanding to speak with a manager and raising hell. I promise you this. Quote me and save this post. Next year I WILL have my upgrade on time. Whether I get my phone on time this year, well that's up to att. If this situation comes to pass for anyone, speak up for yourself. Demand to speak to a manager. This isn't like the lady sueing (and shamefully winning) McDonald's because she burned herself on their coffee. This is entirely legitimate and understandable. No supervisor who actually cares would argue with you and would update this right away. If not, I'll be skipping my way to corporate.

With that being said, has anyone tried to activate yet via that pre order registration code or whatever it is?
 
Ordered from AT&T on midnight right on the dot. 64gb 6+ space grey. First shipping estimates said 10/13-10/22 now it's updated to 10/2-10/13. Anyone else in the same boat? Hoping the shipping estimates continue to update and I hope to receive a shipping notice within the next few days. Seems like a lot of the 6+'s got longer shipping estimates.
