Which order status do we trust?

AT&T premier order status was updated today and my 2 Iphone 6+'s went from 10/13-10/22>10/02-10-13 and November something to 10/02-10/13 AT&T website states the same. When I called the number it said my orders were on back order? Anybody else have the same results?

I hope my 6 Plus gets delivered to me on 9/19. I preordered my 6 Plus at about 11:50 PM on 9/11 on AT&T.

Well the rep said there is no way I would get it on release day, as their estimates are now "accurate." I will just go into the AT&T store on Friday morning instead.

Promise to come back here and post when their "accurate" dates turn out to be anything but? They're getting people off the phone as fast as they can.

Many stores don't even physically have the phones yet, not to mention it's the weekend. Add in the fact that people who ordered later are seeing earlier ship dates in a fcfs system.

Those things together should indicate to anyone with an inkling of common sense that accurate is not a word that should be associated or used to describe atts dates at current.

I just checked again, and now my dates are back and the status changed from Processing to Preparing to Ship.

I preordered a gray 128 gig, 6+ at 12:05am pst... was 10/13-10/22 originally... then backordered all day today... just changed back to 10/13-10/22

interesting...

Maybe I missed the explanation, but how are those with "backorder" status in a better spot then "preparing to ship" status? Seems like it would be the other way around?

I have a 6+ on order BTW, it's status is "preparing to ship"
Cause it's the internet and they said so..

Sweet. The site updated again as of now.

Yesterday: Expected Ship Date: 10/13/2014 To 10/22/2014
Today am: Pending
Today now: Expected Ship Date: 10/13/2014 To 10/22/2014

iPhone 6+ Gold 64gb ordered 2:30ish CST with 14-21 estimate

K you guys are taking this shipping stuff way too seriously.. I think it would be awful for Apple or a carrier company to open up a pre order window only to run out of phones within an hour or two..

I'd say if you ordered within that time frame you should get your phone when apple said it was going to be released.

My story is Midnight PST checked apple and att sites. I had to do mine through att since it was an early next upgrade but my dad's contract was up so we wanted to do his through apple site since it's usually more reliable based on prior experience.

Couldn't get att site to check for my upgrade eligibility kept crashing due to traffic. Apple site was not even open yet so I decided to open the apple store app and sure enough it let me order my dad's, but only the 128gb iphone 6 showed available, around 1210am PST. Got his done, got confirmation from apple.

I couldn't get through att site and it went down again around 1230am with the waiting in line page. But at that time I was almost through placing the order putting my card number and their site wouldn't accept it. Once the other window I opened on att site came back to normal and not on the waiting page I was able to go forward with the order on the other page I was almost done with. It was 12:46am PST. I got charged the early upgrade immediately and $1 as well.

By this time I also noticed my dad's line upgrade was done with a new contract date as well. I did not receive a confirmation email from att until 4:44am PST. I am a premier member, anyways, it said both order status and shipping as pending.

Just today Sunday at 11:44am PST I got charged for the tax I owed. I logged back in to order Status and it says estimated date 11/9 to 11/27 shipping.

My dad's iphone from apple is good to go for the 19th. Now I seriously doubt att is gonna take 2+ months to ship my phone. With the next upgrade they also said I have to ship the phone back to them within 30 days with a box they'll send me.

If you wanna go ahead and cancel the att order better for others but like I said if you placed the order within the first hour or 2 you should be ok otherwise shame on these carriers.. big time..

Thank u for the info on the next upgrade. It's my first time using it and should I decide to upgrade next year I was curious if ordering online would still be possible and if so, how it works.

You know in the past the largest phones always seemed the last to go. Is it just me or does it seem the opposite this time? (Storage space I mean)

my shipping date shows 9/17 - 9/18. I hope i really do get on one of those days but the 19th will be good enough haha.:D

Have you checked FedEx?

Speaking of Fedex.. they also have the Fedex Delivery Manager that lets you set certain notifications (see attachment).

It should work similar to UPS My Choice.

I'm confused as to how UPS My Choice works. Do you use the address you had the package shipped to to sign up? I got to the step where it asks you to take a self-test or send your phone a code or something for security and neither worked for some reason.

Same problem. I gave up. Some things make me wonder........

Moving on. Does anyone think being east coast puts us at a disadvantage pre order wise? Since people in Cali for example were able to order for 3 hours before we were?

someone should make an ATT 6+ pre order only thread, no disrespect to the 6 orders but you guys are in the clear for Friday. Also everyone who's status says back ordered should just try ups my choice before they panic.

My story....

Normally order through Apple.com, but as it wasn't up early on, I took the plunge and used ATT.com with much trepidation.

  • iPhone 6 Plus 64gb Space Gray ordered around 2:45am CDT 9/12
  • Order confirmation screen showed a blank for expected delivery.
  • Confirmation email received about 90 minutes later showed 14-21 days for delivery
  • Checking the Order Status on att.com later on that day showed 10/13-10/21
  • Today the Order Status shows 10/2-10/13

For the 2nd phone I was adding a line and needed the primary's (my brother's) full SS# instead of just the last 4 digits and didn't get that until 7am, thus the late order. Tried to order through Apple.com but they also wanted the driver's license # and I was impatient so just ordered through AT&T since they were showing a 9/19 ship date for the iP6 at that time.

  • iPhone 6 16gb Space Gray ordered around 7am CDT on 9/12 Order Confirmation Screen showed 9/19 delivery
  • Order confirmation email received a few minutes after ordering also stated 9/19 delivery
  • Checking the Order Status on att.com later on order day on 9/12 showed 10/13-10/31
  • Today it then moved to "backordered"...but just now is again showing 10/13-10/31

Considering the iPhone 6 was still showing as Available for 9/19 when I placed the order for the iPhone 6, I cannot imagine that AT&T won't ship that one to be here Friday...even though currently it's showing a delivery date AFTER my 6 Plus.

Nothing shows up through my ups.com, but past shipments have come from FedEx so not too concerned.

So my conclusion? As many others have stated earlier, AT&T is still trying to allocate stock and their system is still playing catch-up to the orders. Seems they're going through and allocating orders now with all the changes
I feel I'll definitely get the 6 on Friday even though it shows the latest delivery date currently. RE: the 6 Plus, I feel like I got in early enough so that I SHOULD get one on 9/19, but I'm not holding my breath. I would guess if it does not arrive by 9/19, it'll be in my hands by 9/26.

Milt: When I placed my order, it said " I my credit card would not be charged until my order is ready to ship" My estimated ship date is 10/2-10/13. But my card was already charged.
Demesia: Thank you. One moment please while i search your account.
Milt: is my ship date incorrect since my card was charged?
Demesia: For security purposes, can you please verify the name, last four digits of your social security number, and billing address on the account?
Demesia: Thank you!
Demesia: Your order will ship in 14-21 business days.
Milt I see that,.
Milt: If my order won't ship for 14-21 days, why was my credit card charged already. Your policy stated it won't be charged until it's ready to ship.
Demesia: Was it charged the full amount of the device?
Milt: Of course, why else would I be talking with you?
Milt: So i figured the shipping date must be wrong since I was already charged.
Demesia: It is most likely just a hold to make sure you have enough funds in your account.
Milt: I see. Are these shipping date accurate?
Demesia: Yes they are.
Demesia: What other questions can I help you with today?
Milt: nothing else.

A hold is the same as charging it....the money is now gone and unable to be used

Since people in Cali for example were able to order for 3 hours before we were?

You're not the first person that I have noticed ask this question.

Pre-ordering opened up at the same time for everyone, which was 12:01 AM Pacific Time, or 3:01 AM Eastern Time, or 2:01 AM Central Time, or 1:01 AM Mountain Time.

They did NOT have a 3 hour lead time.
