My order was placed on backorder earlier today. I ordered at 2:45am EST. got confirmation at 2:49am. I checked again and now it's back to preparing to ship. My previous date was 10/2 - 10/13 now it is 9/18. Be calm people.

Which phone did you order?
Ordered iPhone 6 Plus, 128GB Gold,
I got confirmation email 1:46am CDT,
ordered through AT&T website,
still says "Prepare to ship" for Oct 02 - Oct 13.

I didn't order my Space Gray iPhone 6 Plus 128GB until 1:30ish Pacific time on pre-order night because the Apple Store App wouldn't work for me. It had an estimated shipping date of 10/13-10/21. Then today it switched to "Backordered" but now it's back on "Preparing to Ship" with again an estimated shipping date of 10/31-10/21. Nothing on UPS MyChoice or Fedex Insight. I think I'm screwed :(.
 
Good news!!!

Just to recap.. ordered about 30 minutes after website went live.. email says will arrive on 19th.. next day got an email that stated it would ship 10/31-11/11.

Just checked my order status and they bumped it up to 10/02-10/13.. so pretty much just bumped it up an entire month. Hopefully this will continue and I will get it a week or two after launch; I'd be okay with that.

Edit - phone was 6+ 64 space gray.
 
There system is playing major catch-up

I went from back order status for a good portion of the day back to "preparing to ship" with a delivery window of 10/2 - 10/13. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
 
ordered right at the launch time from premier site and received email saying 9/19 delivery. Then, Friday night the order status website showed October expected shipment. Now it says 9/17-9/18 shipment. I am getting happier!
 
Nothing but the same information posted hundreds of times over. If you have an iPhone 6 order, NOT the 6 plus, then you're probably not even included in this conversation for the most part. Adding confusion to the mess. My date went from 10/3--10/13 TO 10/13--10/22. I'm assuming these are batches and I will wait until mid week to see what I hope turns out to be a realistic shipping date. Anyone inundating AT&T with phone calls about shipping are tying up lines for people who have REAL problems with their service. Those cancelling over these "expected ship dates" seem to only be screwing themselves over unless they did it immediately the night pre-orders started, and will probably end up waiting the time they thought they were avoiding to begin with.
 
I'm a verizon person and I've been reading the superior verizon thread to-date but I just had to say real quick. Att is bad, and verizon is good.

when I checked ATT today it showed Nov shipment. I got upset and placed another order using the same phone # on apple. That one is scheduled for Oct 14th.

I guess I'll just cancel one order sometime in the next few weeks.

I WOULD leave it, ATT system won't be accurate until about Wednesday
 
My shipping date bumped from November something to 10/13/14 - 10/22/14*, a whole month earlier)

* estimate per AT&T.

Finger's crossed it's moved to Sept 19 or at least Sept 26! :eek:

I ordered a 64GB, iphone 6, silver yesterday and its already saying "prepared to ship". Hopefully I get mine sooner rather than later! I keep checking My UPS and there is nothing about a label being made but I have hope!
 
I don't even know what a premier customer is. :p
I've been with them a long time, though.

AT&T Premier is the business/enterprise website....different from the consumer AT&T site. Most business orders and certain FAN (employee discount accounts) require you to order through that site...

Laugh every time I hear this! At least in my neck of the woods I have ATT LTE at the state park on the lake we frequent every summer. My son and I can play 64player COD games all night at the camp site over my wifi hotspot and a good 50mbps bandwidth for all the remote work I still have to do on my days off. Both my buddies with T Mobile AND Verizon have to hike up the road from our campsite just to make a roaming phone call, or just borrow my phone. :)

Of course discounting some minor online ordering drama for the biggest launch day ever. ATT is still bad a $$!
 
Had my 6+ 128gb gold from 10/13 - 10/22 pending shipment to back-ordered.

I was certain I was one of the first to order. Done at 3:03AM EST and got my confirmation at 4:50AM EST.

Currently my phone is back to preparing for shipment with an estimated time of shipment 10/13 - 10/22

Praying it plays out better this week.. but I think I can wait for the phone..

Just sucks knowing that we haven't heard word from AT&T yet and that every other carrier is doing well for it's customers. Thought we'd have some good luck with AT&T, especially since they were the exclusive carrier at first.

I appreciate your response. I would like to follow up by saying that in my neck of the woods ATT doesn't even have service and verizon does so its a no-brainer.
