Everybody who preordered a 6 needs to calm down and take a deep breath. If you ordered it yesterday, I bet there's a 99% chance you'll get it Friday. Forget what the anticipated delivery date keeps jumping to and wait for orders to be matched to phones. (BTW, the people panicking and cancelling is making even more units available.)

Now if you ordered a 6 Plus...good luck - think the significant majority will be waiting until October-November

also..if you check the order status from the first premier email on a desktop (or desktop view) where it asks for order number and zipcode.. it will pull up a cancel button

Does that cancel button actually work? It has a pop-up that asks me to confirm the cancellation, and tells me that it will send me an email to confirm. After I click on confirm, it just kicks me out to the page where it asks for order number and zip code. No email, and the order is still active 12 hours later.

I agree. Ordered yesterday and my CC has pending charge for the sales tax even though it shows 9/23-10/2

AT&T for me 6+ Space Gray 16GB. Ordered at 3:01 Eastern 9/12. Delivery date 10/13-10/22.

I just got a text from AT&T at 9:15 Eastern on 9/13:

"AT&T Free Msg: Congratulations! Your order has been processed. You will be notified when your order has shipped. <Replies are not monitored>"

I am cautiously optimistic this will get here sooner, but you never know.

I got my second text saying the same thing again and the 1.00 charge is gone and left with only the 400$ charge. Am I going to gets mine at least on launch day?

I get where you're coming from; however, people don't want to be confused by a company they just paid $$$ to. Plain and simple. It's amazing the Apple gives you a date and sticks to it, Period! AT&T says one thing, then sends an email with another...just not a good way to do business. It confuses people and causes them to lose trust in their ability to deliver as promised.

You may have the ability to wait...other maybe not. The arrival time starts the clock on your contract and/or pay off period if using NEXT. Delays out until October/November means 1 or 2 years from now they will be screwed on updating to a new phone at launch.... Just all around not a descent way to treat your people.

I'm sure 99% of the pre-orders will arrive on 9/19. So AT&T needs to revamp there UI and automated responses to alleviate the confusion.

Lets be clear..... Apple controls all the inventory, period. I am sure all sales outlets are given a "proposed" inventory and they have to build that into their pre-orders. Apple will ensure they have some inventory on launch in their stores because they are the manufacturer. I'm sure they will fulfill orders best they can with their sales outlets.

I got two messages at 9:00 am on Saturday. My credit card was fully charged by Friday night. 10/13 - 10/22 is my delivery date but I am praying for Friday.

Yep. Received texts last night and this morning.

Order status says "Preparing to Ship" but estimated shipping is 09/23/14 - 10/02/14 for the 64GB iPhone 6 and 11/09/14 - 11/27/14 for 64GB iPhone 6+.

Realllllly hoping this estimate is way off. Surely it will arrive before Thanksgiving!?

I agree that our model might be in short supply hence the long wait. But if i knew at that time of ordering this info, i could have stucked it out with continuing to try to order at the apple website because at that time shipping was estimated at 7-10 business days for our model. I just couldnt push through the final step of th order thats why I went to AT&t.
And just like you said, October definitely will be a looong month indeed.

For whatever its worth, my wife ordered the exact same model from Apple yesterday afternoon, and she got an email confirmation that it will ship between October 13 and October 20...

Same for me. Plus I just got the 2 text that my order was processed and will receive another when it's shipped. I feel those of is who have the 9/23-10/2 will get early.

Order around 350am on Friday, received two texts at 0930 and 1030 today. Site says "Preorder Processing
Expected Ship Date: 09/23/2014 To 10/02/2014 "

Will be teleworking on the 19th regardless:apple:

I agree - would be better to just leave the dates empty while it's Pending. In the past they've tended to 'under promise' on initial launches...which causes a big panic.

I ordered Friday morning (9/10am EST) an iPhone 6, 64GB Space Grey.

Online it says shipping 10/13/14 - 10/31/14*

I just received the text saying my order has been processed. I called AT&T and the support agent said if you get the text that your order is being prepared to ship and you should get it on launch day or within 7 days of launch.

I think he was just telling me what I want to hear...can anyone reassure me haha?

(By the way, this whole thread is such a first world problem lol)

Maybe for the folks with 6 orders, but I doubt that applies to 6+ orders.

But I received two texts as well, but ship date of 10/31 - 11/11....64GB 6+ Space Gray

I hope this is true. It wouldn't make much sense to have the order status of 'Preparing for Shipment' when estimated ship date is 11/28 (as mine currently sits).

From other responses, its still not working. Too bad because judging by folks wanting to use it,it sure would cut down on calls to AT&T.

I received my text saying it was processed and that it's preparing to ship. My question is, will it come sooner than 10/13-31 like it tells me. Cause it tells me preparing for shipment not backorder. Who knows lol

Nope that's why folks are so frustrated. The real reason I cancelled my order though and went through apple was because I was being overcharged $106 in taxes. If not I might have just kept my order.

It really is hugely frustrating.

So far everybody who preordered a 6+ from AT&T around midnight PST on launch day has a 10/31-11/11 ship date. Now I don't really think it'll take that long, or I would certainly cancel my order. I expect them to change it.

But why estimate a date so far out? Why not just say "Order placed, will update when we have an accurate shipping date"? All this does is make customers uncomfortable.

From my admittedly limited experience ordering through AT&T, I learned two things:

1. They get your order to "Prepared for Shipment" status as quickly as possible because their policy (unless it's changed in the last year) is to not allow cancellations once the item is "Prepared for Shipment," whether it's technically prepared for shipping or not. I had pre-ordered the Note 3 and had buyers' remorse and wanted to cancel, and the customer service rep said my only choice for a refund was to either refuse delivery and hope for the best, or accept delivery and walk into an AT&T store for a refund.

2. The actual ship date could be anything. The ship date for my Note 3 never budged, even after the estimated ship date had come and gone by a couple of weeks.
