It really is hugely frustrating.

So far everybody who preordered a 6+ from AT&T around midnight PST on launch day has a 10/31-11/11 ship date. Now I don't really think it'll take that long, or I would certainly cancel my order. I expect them to change it.

But why estimate a date so far out? Why not just say "Order placed, will update when we have an accurate shipping date"? All this does is make customers uncomfortable.

I ordered from AT&T Premier at 2:40am EST an IP6+ 64 Space Gray
EST delivery 10/2 to 10/13

Got the two texts this morning. I had to be one of the first. Got my order confirmation email at 2:43am EST

cancelled my damn preoorder from AT&T, apple is the way to go.

It's apparent that the Carriers and Apple were taken aback by the demand for the 6+. Ship times jumped for everyone almost instantaneously.

Yeah, you beat me by 15 minutes-- my order confirmation is 3:01AM ET. You're the first one I've seen with a ship date earlier than 10/31.

I had 5 lines to upgrade. We are on the Mobile Share Value Plan so I can't use the subsidized upgrade or I'll lose the discount. I preordered when AT&T's site came up slightly early. You had to do them one at a time. The site said that you could have only 4 lines using Next. I do the first 4 on Next because that's the only option other than a subsidized price. I get to the 5th & again, it's either Next or subsidized. I choose Next. The first 4 lines have all received the text that the order is processed & they all have estimated ship dates. The 4th line's ship date is October 31st. The 5th line's order still just says Processing. I called AT&T & they told me that you can have 10 lines using Next so not to worry but they can't tell me anything about the status of that order. So, I'll wait a few days to see what happens. It's going to be a long wait whether that order gets fulfilled or I have to do another one in a week :-0

The more I read about these ordering times and their corresponding ship dates, the more I think that the estimated shipping times are just random placeholders. I had ordered and was back in bed by 11:55 PST and my estimated date is 10/31 to 11/13.

I'm not going to cancel my AT&T order. Us early birds might still be in good shape when actual dates start filtering in.

My first two 6 plus orders have a date of 10/2 - 10/13. I ordered slightly early - as soon as the AT&T site came up. My next 6 plus has a date of 10/31 :-0

Does that cancel button actually work? It has a pop-up that asks me to confirm the cancellation, and tells me that it will send me an email to confirm. After I click on confirm, it just kicks me out to the page where it asks for order number and zip code. No email, and the order is still active 12 hours later.

Were you ever able to cancel your order? I tried to cancel one of mine that's in limbo & got the same thing as you -- no email & the order is still active though no activity on it (no text saying it was processed, no expected ship date).

And I was first in line yesterday at the AT&T store..:mad:

It's been 24 hours, nothing has changed.

I'm so glad I decided to reserve a phone for pickup in addition to ordering from AT&T. I didn't feel comfortable with how long AT&T was taking to process my order.

Well, I got the email today that it would not ship until 10/13-10/31. Cancelled that order. Now I have my reservation for 9/19

Never again will I order from AT&T.

i ordered at 2:04ct...i have a ship date of 10-13, payment authorized on my acct, i have recieved the 2 texts...and it says "preparing for shipment"

When I placed my orders for two 6 Plus, 16GB, Gold and Silver, @ 3:10am when I finally got thru, AT&cheaT told me shipping in 14-21 business days. I got my order confirmations/status updates this morning showing a process date of 11/09-11/27. Screw that. I canceled the orders. Spent two hours on the phone with customer service, because they apparently aren't set up to cancel orders....They were dumbfounded when my reason for canceling was because they about 30 business days off from when I ordered, both the CSR and the supervisor I talked to.
I'm not waiting till Thanksgiving to get the phone. I don't have to have it on launch day, but not Thanksgiving. Taking my business elsewhere, not because AT&cheaT can't deliver, I get the large demand, but because there customer service sucks, and they basically don't care.

When i ordered my iPhone 6 plus it said shipping was 14-21 days and now when i check the status on att it says shipping is 10/31-11/11 anyone else having this problem. i got my order placed in 27 mins of opening

I also had to order through AT&T (Premier) at 12:01am PST because I used a shared upgrade. I placed my order within 5 minutes of it going live for the 64GB iPhone 6 Plus Silver and didn't receive an email until an hour later. In the email it says 14-21 days but upon checking my order status on the website it says arrival between 11/9 - 11/27. WTF!
I really hope this changes.
My credit card has been charged the full amount already and I have received 2 text messages from AT&T saying that my order has been processed.

AT&T is a joke. You don't see these issues with Verizon or Sprint. As soon as I get cut from my unlimited data plan, I am gone.

Maybe you'll get it by the time the 6s plus comes out.

Haha lets hope not.

anyone got email this morning yet, this suck even more.
Due to the high demand, your iPhone is not yet available for shipment. To check the progress of your order, please visit att.com/wirelessorderstatus and use the order number above along with the shipping zip code.

Well, sure. I think most people with an unlimited plan would leave if AT&T dropped it. That's why they haven't done that!

I understand why people are pissed and need that ship day phone date but I am in no rush and will wait.

I ordered my 6+ at 310am and my shipping date is 10/31-11/11 or something like that.

Sure Id love it sooner but no biggie. It will also help me to see people who get it early and if any bugs and if I decide not to keep the device and return it without opening which will help a lot as well.

Bringing some positive thoughts in here

Lets be clear..... Apple controls all the inventory, period. I am sure all sales outlets are given a "proposed" inventory and they have to build that into their pre-orders. Apple will ensure they have some inventory on launch in their stores because they are the manufacturer. I'm sure they will fulfill orders best they can with their sales outlets.

Let's be really clear...AT&T knows what the initial inventory from Apple is. Local retailers do not, but AT&T HQ does. What AT&T fails to do, is accurately provide real-time updates to their inventory as they get crushed on launch day. Period! So to compensate, they provide huge windows of delivery dates.

AT&T is doing the best they can with their crappy backend servers...but it drives home the point that the consumers are left frustrated and confused...ultimately they will cancel their orders and go with the company that can provide an exact delivery date.

Two separate emails with conflicting shipping information is unsat, PERIOD! AT&T can and should do better!

MY order status through myAT&T still shows same info as initially. I keep checking nervously to make sure status hasn't changed:

I ordered around 5:00 AM CDT on 9/12; got email, confirmation from AT&T Premier about 3 hours later & I've received no other communication.

Wtf?

I posted this on another thread last night, but should have posted it here...

I had every intention of pre-ordering at 12:01 a.m. PT but in anticipation, I consumed an entire bottle of chardonnay while watching multiple episodes of Mixology on Netflix. I'm not sure if it was the wine or that terrible show that put me to sleep, but alas, there'd be no midnight pre-ordering for me. Interestingly, I managed to peel my drunken self off the floor at about 2 a.m. and thought of heading to ye old MacBook Air to place a pre-order but I quickly dismissed that notion as I crawled to my bed.

Anywho... At 6:45 a.m. PT, after 4 or so hours of sleep, I arose from slumber with a pounding headache and the primary goal of placing my pre-order. I initially tried on my iPhone using the Apple Store app, but it wasn't working properly. So I tried my iPad. I was able to initiate the process but it stalled. Tried Apple.com was able to get through to configuring the order (iPhone 6, 128GB, Space Grey with AT&T Next) but when I tried to add it to the cart, I received an error message that read "Customers who use their iPhone primarily in New York cannot use the AT&T Next purchase option online." "WTF?", I whispered to myself. While I've had an NYC number for the last 13 years, I haven't lived in NYC since 2006. So I was perturbed at that. Didn't really understand why those with a NY number couldn't use AT&T next on apple.com nor did I care to investigate why at the time because, you know... hangoverville.

I then went to att.com to see if I could place the pre-order there. Shockingly, the process was pretty smooth. Shockingly, because att.com is the worst e-commerce site ever. I had no hiccups or issues. I was given a 9/19 delivery date on the site and within minutes received an e-mail confirming the order as well as the aforementioned delivery date. I was so surprised at how well that went, I thought I might have still been sleeping. Thankfully, it was real.

So I went about my morn, preparing for the day, grunting 'ugh' every time the sunlight caught my eyes, when I heard the lovely incoming e-mail chime. I checked my phone and saw that it was an email from AT&T. The subject read "Your att.com order ************ needs further attention". "WTF?", I yelled out loud. The message encouraged me to contact AT&T immediately. So I did. And waited an eternity until I received an automated message of something about technical difficulties. BS, whatever. I tried calling back but received the same BS message. "Eff it," I say to myself, "I'll call those bastards back later."

At about 12:30, I was able to speak to a rep. Aubrey. She was polite and very helpful. She explained that they needed to confirm the shipping address. Really? Anyways, I confirmed it and everything was in order. I was concerned that my delivery date might be pushed back, but Aubrey said that my iPhone 6 was still scheduled to deliver by the 19th. "Goodie," I declared. All was in order.

Until I decided to check my order status online an hour or two later. (We all check our order status at least 10 times a day leading up to delivery). ATT.com now gave me a shipping date of 10/13/14 - 10/31/14! "How the hell?", I yelled. After a moment of cursing AT&T in my head, I calmed myself down in hopes that ridiculous date was some computer generated falsification. After all, Aubrey told me the 19th. And humans never ever lie to other humans. And they had already charged my CC. So I went about my day as if I had never saw that absurd delivery timeframe.

Fast forward to a few moments ago. I'm home. And suddenly remembered :p that I had pre-ordered a brand spanking new iPhone 6. Instead of relying on att.com's ball of lies of when my phone would deliver, I decided to call the customer service line. I used the automated system and would you believe it said "the items in your order are on backorder"? WHAT THE ****?!?!? AT&T can never get their **** together.

But I've decided that I'm just going to play it out and see what happens between now and next Friday. If I receive my delivery next Friday, "goodie". If not, I'll definitely give Aubrey a call.

And yes, I'm drinking chardonnay again tonight.

And just a short time ago, I received an e-mail from AT&T with the message, "Thank you for your recent purchase of order ************. Due to the high demand, your iPhone is not yet available for shipment. To check the progress of your order, please visit att.com/wirelessorderstatus and use the order number above along with the shipping zip code."

I hate them.

Very well stated. Their wireless service is great for me but its times like these that makes me rethink my allegiance.
