AT&T Says iPhone 4 to Be Initially Available Only in Black?

Women? I want a white one, I have had a white one since the 3G, My white 3GS took a crap and I had to exchange it for a black one because white was out of stock. :mad: Now I can't pre order a white iPhone4? :mad: Racist!

Just spoke with someone at one of the DFW area Apple stores who said to their knowledge the White iPhone will NOT be available for preorder as it is "more in demand."

One would think that if it's more in demand you would ramp up production for that model...I guess we'll find out in the wee hours of the morning.

I really wanted white, too. Hopefully she's misinformed.

I do find it hilarious that people who wanted white will get black now because they can't wait a month or 2 at most for the one they really want. The instant gratification complex of some people is a trip. I just hope these da*n things don't sell out or something. Not experienced with pre-orders, but I'll be up before 7 to make sure I don't have an issue.

And it astounds me that you can look at an excited fan's decision to go with the first available option and judge them. The snide, arrogance over something so trivial is pathetic. When given a choice, they choose white, but if white isn't available on launch day, they want black. Maybe some people don't really care about the color as much as they care about getting the device. There is really nothing wrong with that.

Cause the white Macbook screams "Classy" ... and the white blackberries of T-Mobile scream "Classy" ... the reason the manufacturers produce things in white plastic is for certain economic\ethnic demographics more times than not.

This is some petty crap.

I am just as excited as anyone about this phone--hell, my wife calls me obsessed--but it's JUST A CELL PHONE. There is no reason everyone should be up in arms, pissed at AT&T (it isn't their fault dolts)...
On the other hand, this is a RUMOR. I called my local corporate AT&T store to be told that was not the case and that both the white and black would be available.
 
there's no way this can be true... what company, especially apple, would go through all this trouble to have a half-assed botched launch.. it's 2 ****ing colors, it's not like they're recreating the rainbow.

Everyone just calm down, it's going to be ok... I can bet Apple will have the white ones for pre-order tomorrow... AT&T... well they're newbs anyways... look how long it took for tethering... get with the times AT&T!

It is confirmed in Germany that T-Mobile won't have White available at launch and no date either - so I don't think it's that far fetched...

Just sitting back watching all these Apple forums explode with chaos.... like it was mentioned before, screw AT&T they're a waste of time :p Apple Store FTW.
 
Just called Apple and they said they're taking phone orders starting at 7 AM Eastern. She didn't know what time website orders start but she said it could be as early as midnight as far as she knew.
