AT&T Says iPhone 4 to Be Initially Available Only in Black?

It's fake. An official AT&T memo like this wouldn't have a typo. Read the last line on the heading....
should read...."White will BE available...." not "White will available..."

I just talked to my AT&T rep, Black will be only one available at launch for AT&T. 
Talked to Apple, they will have Black and White available for pre order.
I will be pre-ordering from Apple.com

Apple wants the money first. It makes sense to sell the white through apple only, but I don't understand the secrecy of it all.
I agree that the white Macbook looks classy, but I'm disgusted with the white 3GS. I had mine in an iskin case from day 1 and still ended up with a crack near the dock connector that looked horrid. There is nothing more unattractive than a white device that starts to show flaws. If you get a scratch or even the smallest nick it looks filthy. Plus, being a girl, I wouldn't like the idea of holding it up to my face, now that the front is white, due to makeup, etc. I love my white macbook but I don't take it in and out of my pocket/purse a hundred times a day, or put it up to my face!

Nice catch! I read it a few times and didn't see that. I did notice however that "Black" is capitalized the first time it's mentioned and not the second time. Seemed kinda sloppy to me.

I have the $20 unlimited data plan. Can I be grandfathered into the $30 unlimited data plan or will I have to choose one of the two new options?
What's really frustrating is that everyone says something different.
I just off the phone with AT&T Business Customer Care and he said they've heard nothing about not having white, and would know by now if it was true. He also said "it's two colors and they've released the two colors for the past two years so it's really not a big deal."
So according to him, Black and White both available. He also said AT&T will start taking orders online after midnight. FWIW...

No offense, but these people don't know anything. I will never understand why anyone calls these people asking for information.
first off I think the black iphone looks like a ice cream sandwich
secondly I called both a large AT&T store here in St. Louis and apple customer service and the both said that the white iphone will be available for preorder.
no company, let alone two would pull a stunt like this, less than 12 hours before the preorder of a product and not state the unavailability of one of the models. If true, they both deserve the hell storm that will happen.
I am excited to get the white iphone 4 as I have been staring at the same black bezel for 3 years I want something new and fresh as my upgrade path is to not but a new phone till it no longer takes the newest iOS.

so i just called the apple customer service and was told as well that they have heard nothing about this and my rep didnt believe it was true. i also asked him what time u can start pre ordering and he said 9 am EST. but i dunno what to believe anymore.
but i do believe that apple is smarter than this and they value their customers, i have never known them for last minute stuff like this, especially not being released to the public. i feel as though if it were only going to be available in black steve jobs would have only advertised the black in his keynote and on the apple store site.but then again they still havent told us what time we can pre order by now which i think is odd anyway im sure it'll all work out and i think everyone should stop worrying until we hear official word from either ATT or Apple....listening to rumors drives everyone crazy and thats just what this is--a rumor.

Since it will be harder to get many more people will want the white! Good marketing. People always want what they can't have!
Umph! I bet you would also be the type to make the black iphone sit at the rear of the bus.
