Smoke and mirrors. I'm on ATT, and there are no longer overage fees. They simply slow data the same as they do on unlimited. Hence, there is no "unlimited" plan. . they're just adding an expensive 22Gb plan.

That's not my recent experience. In November, I was out of town and our home internet went down. Since I wasn't home to fix it, my kids thought it would be fine to just stream netflix and youtube on their phones all weekend. We went over our 30GB allotment and ATT charged us $15 for every GB over our bucket.

First they were trying to get grandfathered UDP customers to change over to something else and now they are offering UDPs again. How quickly things change. More like they have to keep up with the Joneses...

LOL! This is a pathetic response. It's like their previous "unlimited" plan: overpriced and throttled. My current shared plan with them gives me 30 gb of data PLUS tethering and rollover data for less money. I love how they're all jumping on the "unlimited" bandwagon now, when the term is mostly a marketing gimmick.

I was hoping this would be a good deal for me but its not. I currently have a 30Gb bucket that we dont go over (although I do have to keep an eye on it and make sure the kids aren't going crazy) for 4 lines. We pay $157/mo ($112 for the main line with $15 for each additional line; not including fees/taxes) and I have tethering. I don't need a lot of tethering but it is a must have for me. I got rid of my grandfathered unlimited plan a long time ago because we never used more than 30Gb and this new plan saved a lot of money. I would LIKE to have unlimited back so that the kids could stream with reckless abandon on long car trips but not at the expense of losing tethering and a higher bill.

Cricket uses att $35 with auto pay and 3 gb. The average person uses 3gb per month. These $70, $80,$100 plans subsidized those that don't want to work get a free phone and free talk and text. All courtesy of the richest man on the planet Mexico's Carlos SIM.
Um, what? ATTWS owns Cricket Wireless…

I dont freaking understand why they wouldn't include tethering.
If they throttle at 22GB, I would be happy if they say, for instance, 10gb of tethering counts towards those 22gb of data before throttling. I would be ok with that!

Why, at&t, why don't you listen.

So $100 a month (before taxes and fees.) Just swapped to t-mobile from AT&T earlier today. So far so good. I'm not sure why AT&T thinks people are going to pay $100 vs $80 on Verizon or $70 on T-Mobile. They have good coverage, but is that really worth $30 more per month?
AT&T had to put something out whether a respectable plan or not to get their name in the media as well.
Up to the consumer to be aware of what they are really getting and fees on top of what they are publicizing.

Everyone call and ask about this new plan tomorrow, use online chat, or phone to ask about tethering. Their call center's log it, and at&t will see an uproar about it, and eventually include it. fingers crossed

This is going in the right direction, but my current plan (with 30GB of rollover data for a number of phones and iPads) is still significantly cheaper per device after a FAN discount. I was able to take advantage of the double-data deal they had a while back. We haven't ever hit 30GB, but 20-25GB definitely happens.

If pricing reflects the need to take steps against persons who really abuse "unlimited" data, I'd rather they cap data at 30-40GB month, but without all the restrictions. Unless you are playing videos all the time, you can never hit that as an individual. Tethering to me is really important when I travel for work, so I can't have a plan that prohibits that.

Idk what all the excitement is about.

I have an old mobile share family.

20gb of data with rollover and teathering: $100 (request only double data deal)
4 lines: $60
Fan discount:20% (basically wipes out taxes and fees)

Typically have 30gb of data, 4 lines, $16x.xx a month.

AT&T doesn't seem to care about keeping wireless costumers they've lost about a million the last 6 months.
At this price why not pay the same or less at Verizon with a better network and no capped video quality? 10GB tethering too.
Better how exactly ? I work underground in the subways & the most reliable provider is AT&T

No tethering? Lol, nope. It's commonplace these days. I wish them luck.

Little timmy wants to use his iPod touch on a road trip. Mom flips on the tethering switch, gets "call 611" message. Mom is frustrated and confused because all the other moms (Verizon/T-Mo customers) have it and their kids can play on road trips.

AT&T mom talks with AT&T husband that night, switches carriers the next day so her kids can have internet in their SUV on road trips.

No personal hotspot? I don't see any mention of it. I can only assume that they're sticking with the policy of the existing "Unlimited" plan (i.e. no personal hotspot allowed).

No tethering just like their current unlimited plan requiring DirecTV service

I'm pretty sure at&t stopped charging overages so techincally you're paying for 22gb's of LTE speeds.

I guess I'll find out for sure tomorrow, but I'm curious what the cost of a second line is if you have your own (100% fully paid) device. I JUST switched (less then 20 days ago) from my grandfathered unlimited data to 10gb plan and I think the second line is only $20/mo extra. If that's the same kind of deal with this unlimited then I'll switch over to that again. Hopefully it includes some amount of tethering (3gb+ etc).

I have one iPhone (mine, primary line) and my mom's dumb "feature" phone. I know sharing a big unlimited plan with two phones when one isn't using data is kinda stupid, but the unlimited calling and text is really good for her and this future proofs giving her an old iPhone of mine to use. I've always been a little worried she might use a bunch of data without knowing, like playing a YouTube video or something and just muting the audio and then getting called away doing something and come back a couple hours later. I wish ATT allowed limits of data to be set on the shared lines rather then just on/off.... without charging extra

Corporate discount will only apply to the first $60.

What? Why? Wouldn't it apply to the first $100 since that's the primary line and then not the extra lines?

Or much more than that given that you'll still likely see LTE speeds plenty of times even when you are beyond 22 GB of usage.

Well, at least that part of it is better than Verizon's version of it (so far) where corporate discounts don't even apply.
