AT&T's Server Problems Continue to Cause Problems for iPhone 4 Pre-Orders

Just got mine ordered after 13 hours of trying.

If anyone is still having trouble, log into your ATT account, and change the address in some way (you can change it back immediately). This was suggested earlier, and after everything else failed, I tried it. First time, got right to the checkout.

Can you please explained what you did? I'm seriously this close to go have a nervous breakdown at At&t or the Apple Store-

After a long power nap, got my reservation confirmation email at 7:13 AM, just to find out all these people bashing on the reservation. Why would apple have an option that would be pointless, if all you required was to be in line? So, i went to my local store, asked to speak to the manager and he said, more or less " We are all aware of the fine print on the reservation email ( the " first come, first served" ) but that's not how things work, on the 24th, you will have a device here with your name on it, and we will hold it until the end of business day, now if you don't pick it up we will sell it to the general public the next day, for example if we get 1500 devices and 1000 people reserved we will place 1000 aside for those with reservations and save them for them until the end of the day." So, don't worry, if you have a reservation just get to the store that day and you will have it on LAUNCH day, lines or not.

Thank you for this. That fine print has had me worried most of the day. My employer is awesome and gave me a month off when my son was born. That ends this week and I go back to work next week. I hate to ask my boss for the day off or coming in late that day just so I can make sure I actually get the phone I have ordered (especially since on the 24th I am exchanging my 3Gs with Apple for it.)

That makes me feel much better. Though I will probably pop by my local Apple store and ask the manager the same thing since I will be driving by it the next couple days. Surprisingly when I went in there today to ask about the exchange there wasn't that many people in there. Even they were expecting way more than had shown up.

YES! Finally! Best part I got my 32GB Iphone 4 for only $199!!! BUT for some reason it charging me $52.41 tax??? HMMM...

I switched to google chrome and it worked, was using firefox and IE previously. Dont know if it will help but thought I would mention it

Finally! Successful iPhone 4 order through Apple Store. Only negative is that iPhones have to be shipped to your AT&T billing address.

Thanks to whoever suggested using Google Chrome! I was just able to get 2 orders in on Apple.com.

Still don't know if my AT&T orders went through earlier today since I received no confirmation, but I guess I'll deal with that when the time comes.

I had mine go through and Apple has charged my card, but i have yet to get a confirmation email. So I am assuming that I won't be getting it on the 24th.

Exactly what I'm going to do. I have an at&t order number but no confirmation. If a phone comes, it comes. I'll sell it for more.

And I just got through with Apple through Chrome. Try Chrome. It works best.

Finally got the GD Apple website to confirm my eligibility and then it crapped out after it showed me my price. Naturally now it can't confirm my eligibility again.

This is a GD complete clusterfook.

Got my second one ordered! My bank put a hold on funds for the second one so I switched to another card since their 24 hr customer service center was not taking calls. They did the same thing on the iPads. Both iPhone 4's to be delivered the 24th! Awesome!!! Thanks Apple...

Exactly this. I think Safari tries to cache the DNS sometimes and it fails bad. I've had all sorts of issues with various sites in Safari 5.

That being said, I can't get to Apple's order status anymore.

Same here. JUst went through on Chrome for me. Sure it doesn't matter but I am happy either way.

As mentioned before, I had a successful pre-order this morning on ATT, but the order status says its "backordered". Out of curiosity, I just went back on the Apple site, and have now been able to add a pre-order to my cart with no issues (for delivery on the 24th).

Any idea what might happen if I submit a pre-order through Apple, as well? I'd hate for them to somehow both be cancelled. Perhaps I'll just leave it alone and wait for the ATT order to arrive?

What makes you think that? I still haven't recieved a confirmation email, but the Apple page said "Delivery: June 24th" on the order thank you page. I don't think anyone is getting confirmation emails yet, mostly because those systems are probably being used to help stop the store from crashing.

I think the servers are starting to clear up. Got a 32gb iPhone 4 to be mailed to my house with almost no hassle from the AT&T part of the deal.

Anyone who had trouble should try now; it seems that others have been having success as well

Has anyone noticed their upgrade date changed to 11/16/2011? This is ********. I've actually hit the 'Unable to upgrade your account at this time' page on apple's site, meaning it hit ATT, but says that I'm not eligible. If it wasn't for the early upgrade for everyone, I'd still be eligible next month, so I'm definitely eligible. That date changed this morning...

Finally got mine to go through too...and I was even savvy enough to remember to order a bumper and AppleCare at the same time.

Funny thing is that I started using Google Chrome and Safari side-by-side to pound away at the servers and it finally went through...with Safari.

Finally Got It To Work

Apparently I'm not the only one that has gotten it working! I haven't received the confirmation email from Apple yet but hopefully they'll get that out as soon as the servers get less busy. I also tried to check on the order status on the store site but it wasn't working. I wonder why? lol

Oh...and yeah, how did you get the iPhone 4 32gb for $199? Damn! lol

Oh My God! What a pain in the butt THAT was.

Luckily, I work out of my home. I have been working at ordering a 32BGB since 9:00AM. I struck gold once at about 10:30 AM. It was in my cart, and I asked my wife if I should have it shipped since we are planning on leaving for a vacation on the 24th.

We decided that it might be better if I have it sent to the Apple store so Im not waiting for FedEX all day.

Tried to go back and change to going to store, and I could not. So, I stupidly took it out of my cart.

Trying to get one sent to the store was impossible then. I visited here and saw how huge the problem was. So, I resorted to downloading the Apple Store App, on my iPad and reserved one there no problem. Could not reserve a 16GB for my wife. When the confirming email comes my way, it has the "first come-first serve" bullcrap.

So....back to the coal mine, trying to purchase ANYTHING.

Finally had success at about 7:30PM!! Took about 20 more minutes to purchase a 16GB for my wife.

I'll tell you what....I love Apple and their products, but this is simply bad!!
