AT&T's Server Problems Continue to Cause Problems for iPhone 4 Pre-Orders

I decided to take Apple up on the "reserve" option and also discovered a new Apple Store closer to me opened two weeks ago (Tacoma), so I don't have to drive 45 minutes through traffic to go pick it up.
Bottom line is today's pre-order fiasco was exactly that, a fiasco. I basically said screw it and put my guns down 12 hours after the fact and decided to go pick one up and set it up live (before I knew there was a store nearly an hour closer to me). Either way it's quite a black eye and pretty ridiculous how things worked (or didn't work) today.

Got through to the screen that says I am eligible for an upgrade, I then clicked continue and went back to the spinning wheel. Held my breath I hope it goes through

Just go to the Apple store and check your account. Look under "Order Status" within the account.
My iPhone is happily sitting there, saying it'll be delivered on the 24th. I haven't received an e-mail yet either, but in my experience sometimes that takes a day or two, even for iTunes songs.
They'll be delivered by the 24th. If there was any reason to believe otherwise, Apple would have changed the "Delivers on" date. They wouldn't want to make the situation any worse by missing their own date.

I've been trying to order the iphone 4 32GB since 8:45 this morning. No luck. I've tried the ATT site as well as apple.com and I keep getting error messages (e.g. P1232 on att.com). However, it seems like many people are having success ordering. Am I alone, or are many of us still out here still trying?

I considered that option too but before I reserved I noticed it said it would end up costing 700 and so I backed out.

I've been trying since 2AM and still NOTHING. This is absolutely outrageous and I can't be the only one. Switching browsers doesn't help. I have been trying since minutes after the store came back online last night.

Nope your not the only one, I'm still trying but now it gives the the option to reserve 32GB for $699 LOL because it cant check my eligibility with ATT....ahh i hope i wount have to go to the store to do it
I'm supposed to be taking a vacation on the 26th. I hope to god if this goes through I'll be able to get it before then or I'll be really pissed especially if it ends up shipping over my holiday.

Still trying to get my second phone... got one for my wife. I started at 2 am mountain time, spent an hour doing it... and have been on most of the time since I woke up. I got the reservations at the store, but I don't want to wait in line for it. STILL GOING

Did anyone manage to get their Apple Store confirmation email yet? I managed to get my order in an hour or so ago but I don't have the confirmation email yet....

nope. i haven't gotten an email from apple or AT&T. i've also checked my bank's website, and don't see pending purchases either.

If i go to apple store will they let me pre-order... My name is not primary on ATT account but i am authorized user and i am allowed to make changes to the account.....will apple be able to see that i am authorized user?

I was up at 4am (EST) trying to order via Apple, finally I decided to order via AT&T and in 10 mins the order was complete. I printed the order confirmation at the end of the order but I am still waiting on the confirmation email. Do not anticipate it for a few days....I did log into my AT&T acct this evening to see order status and it shows my order from this morning....will just stare at that until I get confirmation.....?? Will keep you posted, please do same.
I just now got all the way to checkout on AT&T and up popped the "Bad Gateway" error again. %$^#&@**!!!!!!!! 😡
Whoever suggested changing your billing address on the AT&T site is a genius !!!!
As soon as i did that, i went back to apple.com and went through the process. 5 minutes later, i had the 32GB iphone 4 in my cart and was ready to check out. Add this and the one i ordered for my wife on the at&t site (apparently got it right before the cutoff), and i'm golden. Now counting the days till the 24th.

If I reserved to pick up at the Apple Store, and then decide i'd rather have it delivered.. how do I cancel the reservation at the Apple Store?

Click the cancel reservation button... either on the website or in the confirmation email.
Would it be under Order Status? I haven't gotten the email and I can't get Order Status to load. 🙁
