i wanna see the pics of the black/orange, and black and blue. that gunmetal pic from the last page, reallly showed the true colors of the gunmetal.

Damn I hate you! I wasn't considering getting one, but after seeing these pictures (which I think is probably the truest representation of the actual color yet), it REALLY makes me want one lol.

For the people that have them, how does the grip on the case feel?

Don't hate me since it was you that prodded me to post more pictures. And thanks for the compliment btw.

I'm right handed and the grip feels 'right' to me. I hold it such that my thumb rests under the cap 'bulge'. The Delrin side isn't slippery at all.

I agree. I was dissapointed to say the least. It was like 5 days after the Hybrids came out when we placed our orders. How can they possibly outsell that many that fast?

Purely a guess on my part, but if they got as many returns as some imply on the original case, I wouldn't doubt if they approached the hybrid with cautious optimism. And I'm sure they also committed many to their dealer network.

I ordered mine within days or so after Atomic announced availability (as many did) and there was no delay in shipping at all.

Another thing that might contribute to such a quick backorder is that Atomic was also taking orders via email only about a week prior to actually being available for order on the website. So I'm sure that they had many orders placed this way as well, in addition to all the ones they are using as replacements for the earlier aluminum case.

Damn, I love that color too. They really do need to start just selling caps alone. There is just way to many cool color combo's. That actually looks orange, not burnt orange like the rest I have seen. Could be the lighting too but it looks good to me.

Well in chatting w/some folks 2 things have come to surface. First it seems that the reason for the backlogs is that they are swapping a boat load of their original cases for the Hybrids. The next item is the cost of the new design. It's higher because of the many returns/swap-outs which they are encountering. So it looks like all customers, new/old are paying the price for the returns.

So while folks have debated the higher cost of the new design due to the materials involved etc., that may or maynot be the case (no pun intended).

Atomic gets a "BIG" shout out for trying to do good, by swapping the originals for a proper working model/design. It just seems that everyone new/old are also picking up the tab ($$$) not only for the original/flawed design but also for the shipping delays that have currently surfaced as well.

I was going to say the same thing. I was one who had to swap the original for the hybrid. I have a feeling that has a lot to do with the delay but I am really glad that they are taking care of that issue first!! Because if you add the time spent waiting for your original to ship. Then shipping. Then shipping it back and having the hybrid shipped to you. We that had problems with the original have spent a lot more time waiting than those who are ordering now. With that said. IT IS WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!

I had to exchange the original. As soon as I sent an email stating I had shipped the original back my replacement hybrid was sent out the next day. They are very good at getting back to you with emails. We have even shared a few more emails on how the hybrid is working out, etc. They seem very dedicated to making a quality product that performs! So I am sure you will hear something very soon. But a little slack has to be given as I am sure they are very busy right now.

I know I have read some complaints about the wait. I waited a little over a month to finally get this hybrid. But if you want a quality product then you have to expect that. I am glad they are not just cranking these things out to fill orders!! That they are actually being sure to take the time to get them all made correctly. If you are that worrried about the wait then go buy a case that every other iphone user you see has, it's your choice! If not then cut them some slack and be a little patient. I am the most impatient person there is but even I understand to get something a lot more original and a lot better quality there is a wait. And I am so happy I made the choice to wait. This case rocks and I get compliments everywhere I go. And although I see iphones all over NONE look as cool as mine

That hot pink looks great. And I usually do not care for pink

No affect on signal, gps at all...
Not even a little bit.
I dare not say the signal is even better with the case on..but it's that good.

I continue to be frustrated that no one seems to know when my replacement hybrid will ship. I have sent quite a few emails and got one response that was very generic and said "we are shipping them everyday.". I know there busy but some general time frame would be nice.

anyone has managed to get a L formed "right angle plug" into the phone with the case on ?

plug is very slim though apple bumper no problem

I don't think they will work. I don't have any to try but I am pretty sure they will not fit.
