Does anyone here have a gun metal that they're looking to sell? I'm just looking for the aluminum cap not the whole thing. I don't think Atomic is selling caps separately.
 
I will admit I don't like how the Delrin side bows out a tiny bit due to not being as rigid. I attempted to remedy it by re-tightening the screws multiple times to no avail. In the end I just cut a small strip of double sided tape and put it there, problem solved.
i've found that rotating the cap helps remedy the bowing, but perhaps a bit better is to attach the cap a little on the loose side. the more you crank down on the screws the delrin bows. likewise i'd guess that the threads have a finite lifespan so being gentle is probably best.

the case is quite good and i've gotten a lot of compliments on it. it would be perfect if only the bottom wasn't so deep.

According to the person who handled my order they are selling caps separately already. I paid for an extra cap (19.99) in gunmetal but they didn't include it in my order. Still waiting on a resolution.

Do you know how to order them? Do you have to call? I want to order a couple extra caps but have had no luck when I check their site. Getting disappointed. I get bored with cases easily and I love this case but would like some other colors to mix it up. I'm ready for a bit of a change and don't want to pay $80+ just to change the cap color. Any and all info would be excellent. Thanks!

NancyZ: That green is awesome! Makes me more excited for my green and gunmetal caps. I think they are going to go well with the white iPhone, I just hope the Delrin is the same shade of white.

To those who are cluttering this thread with arguments, take it to PMs or something, I hate scrolling through pages of pissing matches in order to see a few relevant posts.

To those who had the original billet case:
If I have the original billet case they might let me swap it out with a hybrid? I've got two of the billet ones, they were gifts. Do I need proof of purchase to do a swap?

Just curious as to how you guys (or anyone else for that matter) went about this? I'll assume you had to mail the previous one back, but what about receipts or something? I too got a billet as a gift and would like to swap it with a hybrid.

On Dec 11, I emailed Atomic about the gap on my case. They responded quickly and said they would have a replacement case by the end of the week. It has been 3 weeks , no replacement case and they have not responded to any more emails. I really like the case, but would like to get one without the gap on the delrin side. Why no response, and what happened to replacement case.

Update. Received email from unni stating I will receive new case without gap this week. Will update when I receive it.

instead of fixing my problem (or even giving me a false promise for that matter) atomic ignored every email i sent. i opened a pp dispute to try to get their attention and they ignored that too. i ended up getting my money back but that's not what i had wanted. the case is great but the customer service is unbelievably poor. ...to think that had my experience been a good one not only would i sing their praises anywhere i could but i had planned to give them to family members as surprise gifts. their loss. when people see my case and ask about it i feel i owe it to them to let them know to order at their own risk. what a shame.

I got them to respond back to me on Dec 30th after they promised to send me a replacement on Dec 16th.

This is what Unni sent me. We shall see.

"We are just waiting on the new caps to be anodized. The ones with a different cut on them. I will send replacement case when this is done to do it right rather than experiment here and there. This can ship next week, not this."

I emailed last night. Had to have been about 8:30pm. I had an email waiting this morning(less than 12hrs later) asking what colors and where to ship them from Unni!! Outstanding. I'm an once again very impressed with Atomic service. Can't wait to get some more caps to show off!!!

Durability of delrim side is 99% compared to alum side; since it's not metal and does scratch if droped or bumped.
No signal nor gps signal!
My like it about 99% too ;-)
The -1% is for the space around the inside of the case: I hope they sens me a replacement soon! Then I would give it a 100% of love.

Still loving mine. Excited to get a couple more caps. Ive had no signal issues or gps issues and I use live guidance a lot. It has been dropped on my hard tile floor thanks to the kiddies and everything is still working and looking great. I do have one minor ding on the cap from a very high hard fall on the tile. But the phone doesn't have a mark on it and works perfect!! It did it's job well.

Okay you guys convinced me. I love these metal style bumper/case. The biggest no sale for me was signal drop and GPS issues. I rely on GPS quite a bit and to have a case that renders that useless or hampers it in any way is a no sale for me. From the looks of things, this one doesn't cause the issues. I want a solid one color piece, not a fan of dual tones... so time to go check out the site.

Updating:
I just received the replacement case today.
Great improvement in fitting and sharper / script edges compared to the previous one.
Awsome ! No doubt the best alum / hybrid case .
And last but not least the only one that has zero effect on signal and gps!

This is getting ridiculous. I paid for my extra cap at the same time I paid for my case, the 14th of December. Now going on 3 weeks and have yet to receive my extra cap as they forgot to include the cap in the main package. Seems like they are OK with taking peoples payments but not actually getting the items shipped in a reasonable time. My patience is wearing very thin.

Just got responded from Unni minutes ago. My replacement case shipped express with a tracking number. I'd appreciate that, I think they did trying to improve their CS. If anyone with any problems, keep emailing, they will respond.

I've emailed them 4 times. Twice on their site contact page, and twice personally. No response. Terrible service and no sale for me, friends and acquaintances. Never do business with a company that cannot even respond to a simple request via email. Hopefully another company will have a similar product that has zero effect on GPS and Calls.
