Great news! You qualify for an early iPhone upgrade with a new 2-year commitment.
Full upgrade available: August 21, 2013

so does that mean I can buy the iPhone 5... for... $450?

best place to sell my 4S? I called GameStop and they said their servers were down and couldnt tell me how much mine was worth. But I have a 4S in perfect condition.

Yes you can early upgrade and you may have better luck using Craigslist.

Early upgrade cost is full upgrade (subsidized) cost plus $250. Then an additional 36 dollar upgrading fee.

I did. I bought my 4 on launch and was able to upgrade at full price cut to the 4S. I do pay over $150 a month on my bill so many that was why. This year though, so such luck. I may call and ask like others have done to see if I will have any luck, but otherwise I will hold out till the next iPhone.

Just a thought for you. You could sell your iphone 4S and upgrade to the 5 for probably very little out of pocket. I sold my 32GB iPhone 4s for $500 net on ebay. It going to cost $600 out the door for a iPhone 5 32GB so I'll be out only $100 and will have the 5. Think of it this way if someone said to you you can upgrade to the iphone 5 for $100 to $150 (depending on what you get for your phone) would you do it?)

I would if I could sell it for that high. I haven't seen them going for more than $400 on eBay recently, and I won't pay $200+ for a new iPhone 5.

I'll wait and see if my date is moved up. I pay $198 a month on my line so it's strange that my upgrade date is longer than it ever has been. If it isn't moved up before the launch I will give AT&T a call and see. I have been a customer for 9 years and have paid nearly $200 a month on time each month if that matters to them at all.

I got an iPhone the same day as my wife but they are telling me I got mine in April 2011 when my wife got hers October 2010. I still have both iPhone 4 and my wife is eligible for the upgrade but I'm not. Att did NOT move up the upgrade time because I am not eligible for a full discount until November 30, 2012. Stupid. I'm taking my business elsewhere since they won't move my time for the new phone they aren't getting my money anymore. I'll be going to sprint.

Good luck with Sprint (or Verizon) moving your upgrade date or giving you an early upgrade in the future

Yeah, it's not like anyone else got their dates moved up. I was just accustomed to them doing it each year for people who pay $100+ a month on their bills. I guess they aren't doing that this time around unless they just haven't gotten around to it yet. Disappointing but I can wait for the iPhone 6.

AT&T certainly isn't doing it. It's cheaper for me to pay 135 cancellation fee and spend 199 at sprint then pay 450 at AT&T. Kinda stupid I'm being penalized for getting married and adding my wife's line to my account. We both got our phones October 5th 2010. But since I added her line to my account it changed my date to April and not here and now she's eligible but I'm not. Makes no damn sense.

Well, either you call them up and complain to switch the eligible date around or you could do it the easy way, which is upgrade to the iPhone 5 for $199 on her line then go to the at&t store and have them perform the "device swap."

Sprint or Verizon certainly isn't going to treat you any better in the future as they've done away with early upgrades entirely.

I called them and complained told them why should I penalized for getting married? Then they go onto say we can override upgrade dates EXCEPT for apple phones because of their contract with apple. Why would apple not want to sell their new product? Stupid. And my wife wants the iPhone 5 as well so that is not going to work, as for some how she is eligible for the upgrade even tho she changed to my contract how does that not reset her contract date but it resets mine?

I'm not asking for sprint to help me with an early upgrade I'm just saying it'll be cheaper for me to goto sprint then to pay 250 dollars for an upgrade when a cancellation fee is 135? Explain how that works? 250 to upgrade but 135 to take my money from them? I have always hated cell phone companies.

I'll tell you what's cheaper. Upgrade to the iPhone 5 on her line for $199 then do the device swap.

Our main line (that was upgraded last year) isn't available for full upgrade until April. Usually is every year. Secondary line (upgraded last year) is available for full upgrade in March. Hmmmmm.

I called them for the 4th time and they said they will call me back Friday and pre order it on the phone at 3 pm est and waive my early upgrade free and I can get the phone for the flat 199 plus 36$. Guess it only takes a few complaints.

What did you say? And how do you start the call without looking like a fool as I'm sure they make notes on what previous calls were about.

I said exactly what my posts have said. That there is no reason i should be penalized that I got married and joined accounts.

my upgrade isn't til 10/22/12 (got iPhone 4 at launch but my sister recently used my upgrade, so I got stuck with her date :( ). Any chance of this changing or am I stuck till the end of October?

They may be able to move you up 30 days, which would put you day after the release.
