Just curious - for those of you who bought iPhone 4 on the first day but are still not showing as eligible for upgrade, are you on a single person account, or do you have more than one line on your account?

I bought mine on launch day and it's still not showing eligible for upgrade. We have 3 lines on the account, two of which are iPhone 4s.

Well, my line is the main one in a family plan of a total of 4 lines. SO my bill is $172/month including taxes, unlimited data on 2 lines, unlimited texting, N&W, and mobile to mobile plus the cost of the extra two lines of $10 apiece.

That's not the culprit then... I have two lines as well. Second line is eligible for upgrade in November, I believe.

A friend of mine has a single line, and she's getting the 2/2012 message.

Surely it's not based on the folks with unlimited data... although I do have unlimited and my friend does not.

But, before everyone gets too upset, I'd wait and check again just before launch (or when pre-orders are announced). Your status may change at that point.

Wait, does getting the phone on launch day have special implications? What if I bought one during, let's say, the first month of release? I didn't, but I'm curious because I kinda want an idea of how the iPhone 5 to 6 upgrade might go if I upgraded to the 5 the first month... I realize it could totally be handled differently, but still.

No, I don't think it makes a difference if you buy on day 1 or day 12.

my 2nd and 3rd lines are still 2/2012 and 3/2012

the first line is eligible now.

3 iphone 4's with unlimited data, talk and text.

I'm on a family plan, I'm still ineligible and bought on the first day.

From what I understad, if your're on an individual plan and your bill is over $100 per month, you get upgrades every 12 months OR If you are the "master" line on a family plan, you get upgrades every 12 months.

oh, I also get the "$250" upgrade until I drill down to a 32gig iPhone. Then it's $549.

I bought my ip4 on launch day last year and I am still not eligible until 11/18/2011. I am the primary line on a two line family plan but i have been doing everything possible to reduce my costs so i imagine ATT does not like me right now:p Oh well...if I don't end up getting an early upgrade I will just wait until November.

AT&T know that iPhone users get really excited about the newest greatest models. and are very eager to resign there contract when the new shinny phone is coming out. Shortly after the model is announced ATT will change the dates usually with a few month forgiveness. If you think about it you signed a 2 year contract ATT never makes you wait the 2 years for the upgrade they have every right to though.

I got mine the day it came out and I'm still not eligible until 2/2012. I hope this changes. Another line on my account got their iP4 3 months after I got mine and they're eligible in September. Weird.

I had the upgrade with $18 since late may.
I pre-ordered with Att and got my ip4 a day before launch.

Each line on an accout has it's own contract and a Monthly Recurring Charges (MRC) value assigned. The MRC of each line determines the schedule of handset upgrades offered per line.

Is your line the primary on a FamilyTalk rate plan or just an add-a-line? Note: Add-a-lines start with a very low MRC of 9.99 before any features are added, this makes these lines eligible for a handset upgrade about 18-21 months after your last upgrade.

Hint: Always assign a line as the anchor line on a FamilyTalk rate plan that has the higest MRC and to be eligible for a handset upgrade every 12 months.

Then how come the *639# method seems like it's giving me the wrong info? Either *639# is wrong or the website. (Hoping it's not the website :D)

I think *639# is your correct day. The website is just weird and says I am eligible on one line (the one with the iP4 bought on launch day).

When I click on "Upgrade Eligibility" next to the paragraph that says I am ready for an upgrade, it opens a new page that says I am not eligible until 11/23/11.

How do I change this or check to see which line is anchored?

I'm fine with paying the early upgrade price. Been doing that since the 3G release. iPhones hold their value very well so I can usually get about $400 for my iPhone 4 (white color helps) and that means I just have to shell out $50.

Bought my iPhone 4 after launch day - got it the first day it was available in AT&T stores. I'm currently listed as eligible for a full upgrade. I guess AT&T likes me

My MRC before discount is 109.99, but drops to 98.xx after discount.

Just to be safe, I added a $4.99 feature on there this month. :D

And I, too, suffer the same issue as astral125. Stupid websites.

Does it make a difference that I'm on a FAN discount with ATT? I get 23% off of my bill.

Hee! That explains it then, because my bill is well over $100!

I had an iPhone 3G within a week of launch, and had an iPhone 4 launch day, was never given an early upgrade. I was an add-a-line on our plan though, I just called and switched my number to the primary/anchor, thanks for the tip. Hopefully I'll see a difference (it raised my base from $9.99 to $49.99 a month, before data which is $30).

Got mine the day it was released and it still says Nov 18. I've been with them, since they were Cell One, back in the mid 90's. I pay 87.00 a month. I got the early upgrade last year, sure hope I'll get it this year too.

11/25 for me. I got my iPhone the day it was released. I also added my wife to create a family plan which I did the following week, so I assume that's why it's not the 18th. I pay $152 a month.

This is the one time I really need to upgrade (broken home button) so I hope they bump me up a bit.

I really think the early upgrades last year were to stop people from fleeing to Verizon.
