I've never seen a mall security guard carrying a gun.
Many where I live are off duty cops and armed (since technically they are never off duty).
I've never seen a mall security guard carrying a gun.
Most concealed carry owners do not have any actual training besides basic firarms safety, and are more of a danger to themselves and the community than anything else. Why do you think police officers undergo intensive and ongoing training in the use of firearms?
The entire exchange could have taken less than 5 minutes.

being the CCW permit holder that I am... I sure hope this guys did more than break some glass; security guard is going to feel a lot of pain for this one... doesnt matter if that guy was running with the whole damn store being pulled behind him, can't shoot at all for this one. I really hope there is more to this story.
Gun rule # 1 All guns are loaded.
Gun rule # 2 Do not pull a gun out unless you fully intend to fire it.
Gun rule # 3 Do not fire a gun unless you intend to kill.
Yeah dude, the US of A is one hell of a safe place to be!!!
Ipads aren't worth dying for. My condolences to the families to these robbers.
Think you mean "seconds". And I agree - noting no automatics required, and everyone was pretty sloppy in placement.
In fact it is, so long as you're not involved in illegal drugs.
Mall security guards carry guns? Jesus, I'm glad I live in New Zealand where no one carries guns on their body![]()
The problem with stolen Apple products would be no Applecare.
How sad,
I mean a person lost his life because of his actions, and the guard now has to live with the fact that he took a life. All for what - some iToys? Doesn't seem worth it.![]()
Do you have a reading comprehension problem? 40 shots were exchanged. The suspects were packing heat and using it against the security guard. His life was in danger.I'm as pro gun rights as anyone, but this sounds like a problem for the security guard. Unless that guard's life was in danger, there was no reason to shoot anyone, especially in the head. The placement of that shot was no accident.
That being said, I'm sure there are a lot of facts we don't know. Innocent until proven guilty, of course.
The good old US of A and their 'superior' gun control... Such an example to the world!

Another completely ignorant reply. You hit the targets you have available to you it is a simple as that. Even if other body parts where available it is far better for society that criminals end up shot in the head. The simple fact is that is the defective part so live or die that bullet in the head delt with that which was dysfunctional.
Oh by the way personally I don't care if the criminal was armed or not. Dy definition they are criminals and the best possible outcome is that they all die before society has to spend millions on them.
I suspect that the guard probably only fired a single clip full while the robbers came with extra clips pre loaded also. Very scary to see someone shooting at you and pulling for a pre loaded clip.
The security guard just saved CA taxpayers a nice chunk of change.
Because bad people have no way to obtain guns in the UK, right?
