Attempted Apple Store Holdup Goes Bad: Suspect Killed

Let it be an example to any prospective robbers.
Look at the risks the robber has: slap on the hand, and the gain: cash, toys, etc. Now think twice before rubbing, you could end up with a bullet in your head. 😱

It's terrifying how many people in this thread are actually happy and excited to hear about someing being shot and killed, and all the shocking comments about how more criminals should be shot and killed. There is a serious disconnect between reality and fantasy here.

These guys knew there was going to be a component of danger in their heist. Hence, they brought loaded guns with them. If they did want to run the risk of being shot and killed, they should've stayed home in bed.

It just amazes me how many idiots are on this board crying foul because a person in law enforcement killed a criminal who was trying to not only rob a store, but also trying to kill him.

A security guard is not a person in law enforcement. That said I see little wrong with a security guard who is being shot at and is outnumbered shooting back. Plenty of people who lived good lives will see them ended early today. There is no harm if some who didn't do as well.

I hope you aren't serious... You don't point a gun at anyone with wanting to kill them. The idea of winging him, or shooting the gun out of their hand is just Hollywood. Don't believe in the movies.

It is rule number 1 with guns.

Sounds like it went well. A bad guy is dead, and the security guard did his job.

Surprised the security guard was armed, especially in California. The mall cops 'round here ain't armed.

I live down the street and the chula vista PD are part time mall cops there. So i can see y this guy got shot.

Im sure you have very good reasons for your opinions. And I agree with a few you have made, just not all of them. Your over simplifying things, i wish it was that simple. I think the world would be much better if it was as simple as you've concluded.
 
I only read the first few pages but had to respond..... those of you crying for the criminals give me a break. THEY decided to put themselves in the position that ended the ones life and got the other one shot. I have my CCW and am always armed and trust me, I will use my fire arm in the self defense of my family and other law abiding citizens.

Security guard did what HE had to do to return to his family, sucks for the bad guys but oh well. He may have bad feeling about the situation but I sure hope he doesn't have any bad feelings about saving his own life. The douchbag ended his own life with his poor decisions. He deserved what he got.... one less POS to make the world a crappy place to live.

This is the 6th time in a year that the APPLE store has been robbed or a victim to some sort of loss or crime. To be frank, i for one am sick of it.

All Apple stores are now under surveillance by armed security and have been for the last five weeks. These aren't your average rent a cop. They are trained marksmen, ready to shoot to kill the scum bags who try to harm innocent hard working people.

Good for the guard, Darwinism at it's best. No surprise they would pull this off in state that has such stict gun control. The robbers would think twice before trying to pull this off in a Red state.

My condolences to the officer who was forced by these robbers to use lethal force.

It's almost like you're making a comparison between some one breaking a car window for a CD or a Radar Detector, to people wielding firearms at a shopping mall.

There is a big difference between thinking what the guard did was right and thinking it was good.

The best case scenario is that everyone was left alive. Having dead criminals is the lessor of two evils. The guard did what he had to do, but it was unfortunate that he had to do it.
 
It is sad that someone lost their life in this. However, the security guard (from what the articles say) did his job and was completely right in what he was doing. For the people complaining about the headshot thing, go out and go shooting sometime. For one, depending on the distance and your skill, you can't always make a perfect shot to the head or anywhere, and you are shooting to stop the threat. Remember, this guy was being shot at, he probably wasn't standing there taking aim with bullets flying past him. Secondly, from what the articles say, the criminal got shot while he was in the car. This means as they were shooting at him from the car he fired back, once again he probably wasn't sitting there thinking yea, I am going to shoot him right in the head. Being shot at is not fun(I am a former Marine), and you return fire to stop the threat. Like I said, this is sad all together, but the security guard did his job. There are consequences to everything we choose.

Haha, i dont think they rolled in their with a bling'en lexus. Hell i've seen some busted lexus driving around. Most white collar crime is greed, like when the bankers stole all your tax dollars just recently. Im not too sure about street crime. After all, when the quality of living goes up in the inner city, the crime rate goes down. Its not magic or rocket science.

Dont get me wrong, i wanna slap 'em upside the head as well, im just saying lets not forget the power of the people and how we can steer this ship to healthy and prosperous times. Do you think theres going to be the same level of street crime where opportunity and prosperity are abundant. I dont.
