If you don't see it in other apps like Xcode , try a different cable or reboot your computer

So I got a new cable and my apple tv was then able to show up in iTunes. But when I try to click on the serial number to find the UDID for the iPwnStore it says n/a.

I restored the apple to factory settings and am still getting a n/a for the serial number.

Anyone have any idea what is going on or another way to get the UDID?

While the USB C cable is connected to the Apple TV , try disconnecting and connecting the power cable

I'm new here and I would like to know if I can fix my provenance. I have 1.2.6 (Release) on my iPad and all the games work beautifully but I can't get my 8bitdo Nes30 controller to work. Every time I press a button it crashes. idk how to code or anything. Some people said to downgrade but idk how to do that either. Any help or suggestions?

So I got the new cable and figured out how to see the serial number and UDID. if you click on the n/a the serial number will pop up, click again and the UDID shows. The button isn't visible but you can click it.

So I purchased the iPwnStore service and it was pretty seamless. However now I am having an issue with roms showing up. I downloaded the roms to the server following the directions in the video on page 1, everything looks great except when I go back to the provenance app on my apple tv they don't show up there?

Any ideas what I am doing wrong this time?

If the roms you have don't work , try another zip

I apologize if I am not following, I only tried like 6 roms, all with a file suffix of .nes. Do I need to zip up the individual roms? Does it need to read it as a .zip?

I don't know that you need to zip them up so much as you don't unzip them in the first place.

Ok, I will look into this. The ones I uploaded weren't zipped to begin with, it was only a few but I will try a zipped library I recently downloaded.

Thanks for the help guys.

Nevermind, I didn't have them in the rom folder. Previously when I used this I didn't have to store them in the rom folder.

Yeah, I was kinda hoping for a Provenance update but it's been a while. I think I've pretty much given up. Oh well.

You ever get this figured out? I hadn't had to update Provenance in a while and while I knew I had this problem I couldn't remember the fix. But tonight I had too, so I figured I come back here and post the "fix" in case you didn't figure it out, gave up or someone else has the issue too.

The key fix for the Top Shelf problem is to be sure you change the Bundle Identifier for both ProvenanceTV and TopShelf. Initially I couldn't figure out how to change the TopShelf Bundle Identifier. The easiest way is to select the box labeled 2 from this link (https://blogtogo.de/wp-content/uploads/appletv-provenance-5.jpg). You'll then not only see the a Target (box 3) called ProvenanceTV, but also one called TopShelf. You'll need to change BOTH! Lastly, don't copy and paste into the TopShelf area as the file name is a bit different (rather just change the "jamsoftonline" in box 4 for both to whatever you'd like).

Hopefully this works! The new updated app is even nicer. Only "issue" is trying to get it initially and updating.

Devincentis is correct, but there is an even easier step to fix that. If your provenance has stopped working just make sure you have the latest Xcode, run the initial load, type the default bundle identifier (com.jamsoft...) in the search box and replace them all with your own and build the app as you normally would.

Cheers.

I purchased this

I'll report back when I Get it with a mini review
I won't be using the remote skin

I posted in the other thread by accident

I can't build mame anymore in Xcode , I keep getting an INLINE error
Is there a fix for this?

This thread is dead but I got some good news

I figured out how to get roms into the MAME app from iPwnStore without a jailbreak

Download Mame from the iPwnStore website on your computer , it will be a file like this "donexxxxxmame.ipa"

Now rename that .ipa extension to a .zip , donexxxxxmame.zip

Open the zip file , it will give you a folder named "payload"
Inside this payload folder is a file named "MAME"

Right click "Mame" on mouse and select show contents

Next step drag and drop your roms in there , no need to create a folder just drop the roms after show contents .
You will be uploading this "mame.ipa" to iPwnStore website, so obviously don't load 2gb roms in there , just get your favorite 30 arcade games

After you finish dragging your favorite games in show contents , hit the back button to go back to "MAME" app in the folder

Now open iTunes , go to your library movies/music don't matter , drag and drop the "MAME" app in to your iTunes library
Let it load

In iTunes search for MAME and the app will show up, right click the app with the mouse and select show in finder
This will give you the MAME.ipa you need to resign back with iPwnStore but with your roms inside

Open iPwnStore website , login and go to the upload custom iPa section and upload the MAME.ipa, depending on the size of the app it's gonna take a few minutes , that's why you only load your favorite roms not the entire 2gb rom set

After it's done uploading it will spit out the signed "donexxxxxmame.ipa" with all your roms inside ready to use for a year

Open ifunbox , connect the Apple TV to the Mac with USB C and power cable
In ifunbox hit install and select the .ipa you just got

All done the games will show up in the app now .

I tested installing the MAME.ipa with ifunbox after putting the roms in and getting the ipa from iTunes , skipping the uploading to iPwnStore gave me install fail in ifunbox

What I did not test was after putting the roms in and going back and making the payload folder into a zip and renaming zip back to .ipa and try to install this to ifunbox , maybe somebody here can try this , if it works you can load the entire 2gb rom set with no upload to iPwnStore required ,
I'm not going to try it because I got everything working using the first method and don't want to redo it

Have fun playing your favorite arcade games , not all roms work but the ones I tested did
Ninja turtles arcade and turtles in time
Xmen
The Simpsons
Donkey kong
Neo geo games work but have no music

Remember MAME is very picky with the rom set number , for this app you need rom set number 0.37b5
If you search for this it will be 2gb for the entire set , I'm sure you can find separate files

I followed every step and when i open MAME it says no available games, am i installing the games right? They should be in a zip file correct? I dropped a couple different ROM files in and nothing. I get the ipa file to load on my Apple TV so it must be something I'm doing with ROMS.

You might have the wrong roms , they have to be from 0.37b5

Finally found this forum and someone who actually got this to work. I have a question that you may be able to help with. Now that you have it working, can you check with iFunbox where the roms are located. Bear with me: what i am thinking is when you open iFunbox and check under applications there is the Mame app. When i click on the Mame app there is 3 folder; Documents, Library, and Temp i think. But then the folders are empty. Can you check yours and see if there is a "roms" folder in on of those. Follow me? im trying to determine I can add the missing folders in iFunbox and then drop the roms in. I found the Provenance folders and roms, but no luck getting mame to work because i need that missing information. I need to know the folder structure and how many subfolders there is. It would be awesome if its that simple but i need your help since you actually have roms working. Thanks!

I don't think I can open those folders because my Apple TV is not jailbroken , ifunbox will give me an error , on the Mac version

Just put the roms in the main "mame" folder and they should work
No need to create folders or sub folders

I used your method to load the roms and it worked perfect. Thanks for th guide it was pretty easy to follow.

Some games work if you adjust the video buffer and video depth. Metal Slug, Simpsons, Street Fighter 2 CE.

Games that did not work - Shinobi, Ms Pacman. I probably just need to find the correct compatible files and try again

Answer to my question: I tried iFunBox and does not work. It still shows the same 3 folders but nothing else. So the resigning method must be done.

Anybody still using this ?
Is been updated a few times since July to improve lag and even added dark mode

Everything still works for me , what I don't like is the MFI controller only

I rather use an 8bit or a dualshock controller
