Haha nice. Was sleeping for a night shift when preorders happened so I missed out on a good delivery date but I definitely would've be pulling a sickie if it were coming tomorrow!
I was in the States for preorder, fell asleep and had to order in the morning. Still on a Dec 28th shipping date. Kinda sucks, but I’m sure it will get here way sooner, as always!

Anyone else in NZ seeing utterly useless tracking updates from DHL?
My shipping status hasn't updated since 4 am yesterday, when my package arrived in-country from Sydney. I called them this morning, and they insisted it would "probably" be delivered today.
If my phone stays stuck in Auckland all day today and I have to wait until Monday because of DHL's screwup, someone's going to lose their head over it.

Hmmm, yes thinking that too! I just got off chat with a service specialist and they said that once the reservation page goes live tomorrow at 6 am that I should have luck getting my preferred iPhone X for in-store pick-up! I had a friend line up only from 6 am, was 21st in line and got what he wanted, and said the whole line of 41 (by 7am) got their iPhone X as well!
Oh, cool that's my local too! Can't make it there today, but fingers Xed for a reservation for tomorrow pick-up!
I went for a swim, bought a coffee, and then went to the Apple store to pick up the phone on a Telstra contract (need the service in hospitals or I'd have gone for Optus for the football coverage). Never wasting time pre-ordering again. Wasted hours with Telstra. The apple store app failed me too.
I think the apple supply lines and distribution are at the point the demand is not insurmountable.
