Just ordered an AW2 42mm space gray aluminum with arrival date of 10/21. Let's see if BB can come through.
 
This is so lame. There should not be a one-month wait for the series 2 for in store pickup.

Seriously thinking about going with a series 1 that I can walk in and get tomorrow. It's disappointing they're that far out on the shipping dates...

Order online. I ordered a 42mm SS in store was mid Nov, delivery also mid Nov. BUT IT IS ON MY WRIST ALREADY Apple had it to me in less than 2 weeks.
Dont settle for less than you really want just to pick up in store now, I nearly did that as I prefer shops not online, but this was my first online order from Apple and real happy with results.

Yes, I did. Honestly, I am very skeptical about them coming through and, like others on this forum, I expect some e-mail notifying me of the delay. I was really on the fence between the aluminum and the SS. Couldn't decide, but saw this and went for it.

If anyone is on T-Mobile I ordered one 42 Space gray on Saturday and received it today. Pretty fast turn around time. It's funny they have the worse IPhone 7+ stock but okay Watch stock.
 
Wow! Just got an email from BB. My Apple Watch series 2 42mm space gray shipped today. Placed the order last night. Is this for real?

Wow. You're lucky. I ordered the same thing from them last night and selected ship to store because I wasn't going to be home on the delivery date (ship to store was one day later.) and it says backordered now.

Where do you see backordered on your order? I can't see any info on my ship to store except for in process and the original email they sent with a pickup date.

I thought of what you stated yesterday with your BB order. I honestly wonder why that is the case. Do you think someone returned it?

I got an order confirmation that says "We've received your order, but it's not quite ready!"

The email reads normal. It lists the order date, order number, and pick up date. There's a yellow button that says View Order Status.

When I click on that it tells me that it's backordered.

I called Best Buy and they assured me that it just says that, and they are showing the pick up date as the 22nd (which is what I show too.) They tell me that this is just how it works, and it'll be in the store waiting for me on Saturday... Apparently.

I'm cautiously optimistic on this one.

Your answer is it's backordered and Best Buy hasn't done a good job keeping people updated. Funny enough, I had an email from them yesterday saying that it would be ready for pick up today as well, but the order status still clearly shows backordered and "processing". Needless to say, there was no Apple Watch at the store.

With that said, Best Buy should do a better job with communicating, however, I believe Apple is to blame for the shortage.
