Your answer is it's backordered and Best Buy hasn't done a good job keeping people updated. Funny enough, I had an email from them yesterday saying that it would be ready for pick up today as well, but the order status still clearly shows backordered and "processing". Needless to say, there was no Apple Watch at the store.

With that said, Best Buy should do a better job with communicating, however, I believe Apple is to blame for the shortage.
I agree. I'm not sure if Apple is intentionally limiting supply or if Apple is just bad at forecasting demand. Either way, I'm tired of Apple playing this game at every release. I'm ready to jump ship.

Both my watch and iPhone showed back ordered and it shipped he next day when I ordered them. Their system will show back ordered even if its stock. If it lets you add it to cart it's in stock. Unlike other products or models it will show sold out online. That means they definitely don't have any.

I don't understand why I don't have a Watch then.

I'm getting ready to place an order and thought I'd solicit some feedback here.

I'm trying to decide if I want to order from Best Buy or Apple. I see the stories about Best Buy folks seeing backordered but shipping a day or two later, and there are some who are still waiting past their promised date. Website says get it by Dec 7.

Apple gives you a ship date, but a lot of times that date gets pulled in as time passes. Shipping in 3-4 weeks can end up shipping in 1-2.

I have Elite status at BB, so I'd have 30 days to return. I have a SBSS Series 0 now; want to order a SS Series 2. If I don't like the Stainless, I could return for the SBSS Series 2.

I think Apple's policy is 14 days. And their store is more inconvenient to get to.

What do you all think will get me the watch the quickest?

It depends on the AW model. You want one that is pretty rare and in short supply. Don't think you'd get it that fast.

The model I got was the 42mm, SS, Milanese. Said backordered, and shipped next day and now its on my wrist. :)

I just picked up my 42 SS WSB from Best Buy. 2 days early even. Website ordered 2 days ago.

Picked up a gold aluminum S2 on Tuesday at my local Best Buy. It was the only S2 they had in the whole place.

My order status has now changed from "Backordered- processing." to "Order received."

Not sure if that's good or bad but it's further back on the timeline they provide.

Anyone else ordered / is waiting for / received rose gold 38mm S2? I ordered RG/38/pink sport band like a week ago and ETA is Nov 16th. I've never seen this SKU available at BB or Target or Apple for in-store pickup. This watch is for the wifey. I was able to pick up my SG/Nylon 42mm S2 at BB pretty easily shortly after launch. Seems like RGs are harder to find.

So did mine.

I'm reeeeaaaalllly close to canceling the order and just picking up a series 1.

I don't like to swim. I can see how the gps might be handy, but was mainly interested in the brighter screen and the bigger battery.

I'll see what happens tomorrow.

I was in the Apple Store yesterday and probably seen at least 5 people wanting to buy the new Watch and none were in stock. All of them but one walked away without ordering one. Makes you wonder how many sales Apple is losing by not having any stock.

I can tell you that I have stuck with Android for the past 8+ years for this reason and only this reason. I have been tempted by the iPhone since the 5, but I have always gone with something different because of the backorders. I even ordered the 6S Plus last year, then cancelled it after 2 weeks because it was still going to be so long. I can honestly say that I probably would've switched to Apple years ago if I could've actually bought one without waiting over a month to get it. I can't be the only one.

Got mine one day earlier than expected. So far I love it! I am used to the fitbit interface, though, so I am going to see if I can get used to the apple watch.

Mine says available 11/08. Cancel time.

Like I said earlier in this thread, at the initial watch release I intended to buy a SS watch for my wife and I. I became so frustrated at the unavailability of them I never bought them.

I checked Best Buy's website today and it has been updated to Dec. 8th for the watches we want. Apples website is still saying 4 weeks. I've lost my motivation to purchase them again. Yet again, Apple has saved me about $1300-$1400. I am an admitted Apple fanboy but their lack of product available for purchase when they "release" them is just beyond ignorant.

Ignorant may not be the best word but it is definitely inconsiderate and irresponsible.

Just an update from my side with my order with Best Buy:

Ordered S2 42mm Gold with Coffee Woven Band on 10/12. ETA on order page was 10/19 with standard UPS shipping

Received shipping notification on 10/13

UPS delayed shipping by 1 day

Received watch on 10/20

I had the Series 0 and now Series 2. LOVE it so far and this color combo is gorgeous!

Like I've said a dozen times on here. Mine said the same on Best Buy's site, but many online convinced me to order it because if add to cart was avail Best Buy has them in stock even with a dec back order. Mine shipped the next day. I got a 42mm ss Milanese loop 3 days later in my hands.

I had the same experience (2 days in my case) for a 42mm AW2 aluminum in space gray. I swung by best buy last night to see if there were any other ones in stock and one of the sales reps said that shipments come in daily M-F. Whether or not that is true, it seems like Best Buy is getting a decent amount on a periodic basis.

Seriously, screw Best Buy, I'm done with them. Period. I had a nightmare time with them twice dealing with my Samsung Note 7 debacle and swore them off for ever buying another phone directly from them again. Fast forward a few weeks, now I'm back on an iPhone 7+ and try to order a watch today. Tried ordering 3 times, each with perfectly valid credit card and matching billing/shipping address only to have the orders immediately cancelled, because they couldn't "verify the order". CC company shows three authorizations and refunds -- they were getting payment! Done with Best Buy for good! Will never step foot in one of their stores again, unless it's to see something in person before buying elsewhere. It's no wonder they are struggling! They're the new Radio Shack and will be out of business within a few years.

Went to Ebay, found a Series 2 42mm Space Grey for a $50 premium from someone that has it in hand (new/unopened) and could ship it today. Ordered and within 10 minutes had the shipping notification -- will have it either Monday or Tuesday. Cancelled my Apple order that wasn't estimated until mid November.
