Found the Nike+ 42mm last week in store, but couldn't make up my mind...now I'm kicking myself for not just buying it! Seems Nike.com still has some though.

and now the stainless steel options are out of stock everywhere. this late out from release, very strange most models are so constrained..

I agree. Can't find the SS anywhere, at least not the 38mm. The ship times from Apple finally improved from 3-4 weeks (I was previously seeing Dec. 9 shipping) to 2-3 weeks (now Dec. 6 shipping), but every other evidence shows little to absolutely no stock.

You can't even order the 38mm SS on Bestbuy, it it's blocked out last I checked.

No word at all on this and I'm curious. I can't say it's strange because Apple really doesn't say too much about it, but this is kind of ridiculous, especially 1. so far out from launch/release and 2. so close to the holiday season.

I wonder if they had an issue with the stainless steel especially and that constrained stock.

Looked on istocknow and there's one Apple Store in the US that has it. But quite a few (still not a lot though) in Europe and elsewhere. hmmmm....

There is a shortage everywhere. Even the standard aluminium models are in short supply....none in Europe. The Nike models are everywhere though. Bearing in mind that we are almost two months on since the release of the new phones and watches with order times still 3 to 4 weeks, I have never known such a shortage supply for Apple products.
Something isn't right.
I am surprised that the third party apple sites aren't reporting on this

I agree. Not one word.
I assumed it was only the SS models because about three weeks ago I went to Target and Best Buy and there were several Aluminum versions here in the US (Cleveland, OH area). On istocknow, it shows a quite a bit more (but still not a lot and none in my area) Aluminum. As you can see, the SS is practically nonexistent.

I am wondering also third party sites don't push that

The ongoing supply problems are certainly something that is very un-apple like.

I've been waiting 6+ weeks for my iP7+ to even ship, and now the watch is showing constraints as well? What is happening Apple?

Yeah you are right. No stainless anywhere. Load of aluminium models in the States but none in Europe....not one. Maybe this week Apple will ship supplies over.
Apple have always been good with logistics but they have really dropped the ball over the last 18 months.
It will be interesting to see how they deal with the demand for AirPods and even more so, the next iPhone next year

My husband & I are both waiting on 42mm Aluminum S2 watches. We ordered them from Apple over 2 weeks ago with an estimated delivery of November 18-28. We've had no movement & I haven't seen our specific configurations come into stock at our Apple Store. Every now & then they get a 42 Sport but never ours & it is gone quickly

So it is still more than 10 days till 18th. I think that's ok. You will see some movement few days before

I was hoping to grab a silver 38mm sport for the wife for our anniversary (last Friday).
The specific version she wants has been out of stock everywhere here in the UK for weeks.. the latest availability on Apple store says Dec 9!
What is going on.. I had assumed maybe it is the specific configuration I was looking at.. but it appears to be more widespread! Argh!
I guess it will have to be a belated gift!

I ordered a 42mm SS with the Saddle Brown leather band on Thursday last week, with an estimated delivery in 3-4 weeks. I've read some stories online with people receiving their orders earlier than expected. Would be curious to hear from those who received their watches (especially the SS version) what the difference between the expected and actual delivery dates was.

In response to the post above, I ordered my 42mm SS space black with black sport strap on 10/12/16. Confirmation email said item to ship in 3-4 weeks, estimating Nov 9th - Nov 16th delivery. My watch switched from processing to "Preparing for shipment" this morning, Nov 7th.

I ordered an SS42 Series 2 with saddle brown a couple of weeks ago with an estimated delivery of 3 to 4 weeks and on the same day it went from processing to preparing for dispatch and was shipped the next day from China to the U.K. 4 days later it was in my hands. It was scratched on the side though and so I called Apple and they put in a priority order and another one was sent out the next day.

I have just ordered a space black SS 42 Series 2 today with an estimated delivery time of 3 to 4 weeks and that has already dropped to 2 to 3 weeks so I reckon I will have it within a fortnight

Got my 38 S2 Space Gray Alum w/ black sport band from Best Buy. Ordered it on 2 Nov and it was available for pickup on the 4th. Very fast and easy.

Assuming you have the means, I would suggest placing an order through multiple channels and then canceling as soon as one of them ships. Worse case, you have to return the extra one(s).

Ordered a 42mm Aluminium with nylon Strap on the 24th October. Showed as 3-4 weeks delivery, and the 21-28th Nov as an estimate. Crazy. Just hope its worth the wait.

I've been watching the http://www.istocknow.com/live/ map since launch. It's fascinating. One day there will be nothing anywhere and then, the next day, a particular model will spread out across the map. A day or two later, everything is gone before a different model, likewise, spreads across the map before disappearing. Last week it was SS space black in the north east. It was suddenly absolutely everywhere and then completely gone a few days later. I'd wish I'd saved a screenshot.

It feels like they have one production line in China that makes one model for a day or two. Then they ship the accumulated output and change the line over to produce a different model. Rinse and repeat.

My 23rd October order which was due to arrive 21st November has just dispatched with expected arrival of 10th November.

42mm SG black sport strap

Every model (except nike) in the UK had 4-3 weeks shipping, now it's down to 2-3. Hoping my 42mm gold will arrive soon, ordered 24 Oct expected 22 Nov.

Yes Apple order times are all over the place for aluminium and stainless. Its a nice surprise though when watches ship sooner than expected.
There are plenty of aluminium in the States at the moment where stock in the uk is very limited. Very few SS in the US or the UK. The SS does seem to be the more popular model this time around but when the first gen was released, it was the sport that was more popular by quite a margin

The SS42s rolled out like a wave across the NE US today. Funny how one particular model seems to make it into the chain at a time.
