Controller center works fine. The little glitch animation when doing a four finger close is there. Nothing crazy. Overall it's running really smooth. I mean I don't even notice the difference between ios 6 and 7 now in smoothness. Safari is much quicker on ios7. I mean even the verge loads fine without stuttering for me. On ios 6 this wasn't the case. Haven't tried Siri. Messages and everything else is great. Loving this in my mini a lot.

Thanks for replying back.

There have been very few experiences posted with iOS 7 GM with the Mini, so much so I bought a second Mini which was preowned. Got it at BB and I have 60 days to return it cause I am a silver rewards member. That will be my test device. I have not run any betas, it may give me a feel for IOS 7 to see if I even like it but as far as problems it would only be beta so ....

I think you'll love it. I did a full the restore then restored my iCloud backup and it works great. Even though I think it would look better on a white mini. But I'm still loving it.

A lot of these comments are just downright silly.

It's a personal choice, why does someone care if someone else does or doesn't update? Who cares? I'm more weirded out by that than by whether or not someone would update.

Maybe we should talk about why people feel some compulsion to care about what someone else does on their own device that doesn't affect everyone?

I completely agree with you. It's a personal choice. If someone doesn't want to upgrade, fine...so be it. There is always going to be a difference of opinion. I personally like the design look of iOS 7 a lot. I went back to iOS 6 for a week and did not like it but I'm of the personality that loves changes and new things. There are lots of people who like the familiar and resist change. Everyone is different.

I do have to say though, that although it's silly for people to lambaste the OP for his decision, I also find it peculiar he posted to begin with. You have to admit you are opening yourself up to criticisms when you not only public decree that you hate iOS 7 and will stick with iOS 6, but also say it in a way that to me, appears like his/her underlying message is "you are all stupid for liking iOS 7" and to me, that's just as bad.

You are completely right that one should not dismiss another user who likes iOS7 but we iOS6 owners do have the right to criticize Apple for their stupid design choices.

The reason you went back to iOS6 for a while must been because you were feeling uncomfortable with a certain iOS7 feature but you decided to return because you knew there was no way out but accepting the new path so its better to adapt early. Its all psychological and I aint no doctor.

First, I didn't revert back to iOS 6 because I was uncomfortable with a certain feature. I had to revert back before bringing my faulty phone back to the Apple store. This is the problem with this thread; assumptions based on your personal bias of taste and personal attacks of ones taste in design because it doesn't align with yours. And this goes both ways.

If you like iOS 6 design better, that's good for you. I've seen and used both and I prefer iOS7 in a big way.

Now, if you want to complain to Apple about missing functionality and features or bugs (which I have some complaints about in iOS 7), then that's another thing. Mind you, the OP didn't make that the primary focus of his post.

Nothing new

I wonder how many of the people who swore blind they'd never upgrade from OS9 to OS X are still on OS9?
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/31168/

I wonder how many of those people who were insistent they would never upgrade from Snow Leopard are still on 10.6?

I wonder how much overlap there is between the above two groups?

Only Apples influence, as part of their planned obsolescence to grab your money, says its outdated. You've missed the entire point.

Apple's fat & happy that you've bought into this thinking.

Don't forget the tin foil hat.

I think it has more to do with the sheer number of pixels the processor is driving in the iPad 3 and 4. The Retina display on those iPads is a monster, and I just don't think they've ironed out the animations on those devices yet. On the mini, and on the iPhones...it's a much smoother experience. But I don't think iOS 7 on the iPad 4 is bad enough to justify reverting to iOS 6, especially knowing that Apple will fix it.

The retina display is indeed a monster ... and the A5X in the iPad 3 struggled to power it, which is why the iPad 4 with an A6X was released. The chip is a beast.

Wha wha whaaaaaat?

Yup and still on 7 today, lol.

Swipe back in Safari, uber fast Siri, and Control Center are keeping me ... I'm going to try and ride it out in the hope Apple optimise 7 when the new iPads come out next month.

And as others have said, when the Great App Update happens at the middle to end of this week, iOS 6 is going to look like a mismatch of Forstall and Ive icons and UI's.

May as well get on board now.

Yeah I know have you found any way to speed up the typing? Also can't stand that music app for some reason. Parts of it are ok , others not so much.

The keyboard still has it's moments unfortunately. I agree about the music app, it's a huge waste of screen real estate, far too much white.

I thought about that, the color of the Mini. :)

I have a white cellular model, I got a black preowned one to load iOS 7 on. If I like the features of ios 7 and see no roadblocks, then the white's look should even be better.

I am too, and that's why if something new doesn't fit my needs, I don't buy it just because Apple made it.

I'm not abandoning Apple, but I will keep iOS 6 while I sit back and see how iOS 7 works out.

In the mean time I'm changing to Android as my primary smartphone. It will fulfill my desire for change & learning something new. Plus I'll have fun doing it.

By this time next year iPhone 6 will be closer to reality & perhaps by then iOS will be suitable for my preferred work flow.

Hmmm read something somewhere about turning documents and date off in iCloud......wonder how that works.

Lots of armchair designers on this forum who think they know better than Apple.

Newsflash: your personal distaste for something doesn't make it stupid.

I know better then apple and its my opinion that Apple knows better then me.. So take comfort child.

Haha, talk about contradicting your ownself. I said I have the right to criticize some design choices, thats my opinion. Some designs I was more comfortable with in iOS6 which have been changed on iOS7. Its not like someone else made iOS6, it was Apple. What we are saying is, use that experience and not just funk it up to look different. The Phone/Music/Calendar apps are examples of pushing the envelope without purpose. I am not asking to use my design, I am questioning why Apple would choose to change a certain aspect of the design which was perfect on iOS6.

Well with warm blooded children running this place, it is hard to even express an opinion without being rushed over.

Lastly all these links to how people didnt want to upgrade from SL to ML, but look at them now jokes, seriously - think about it, its all about "adapting." If you dont adapt, ie. upgrade your system, you will not be supported. To say that who is asking you to upgrade stick to iOS6, the Apps that want iOS7 is asking me to upgrade. Think just alil before writing a reply.

I went back. Liked the vastly improved cellular radio performance over iOS6 but hated the Wall Of White and vague light blue icons within individual stock apps. It seems as if contrast is a dirty word with iOS7 and my eyes did not approve of that. I found the overall experience a bit sluggish, but something I could live with if I had to.

Mostly, one of my key 3rd party apps is not iOS7 compatible so back I went.
I shall wait for reports from the next incremental updates before venturing back or I might bite the bullet and get a new iPhone.

After rewatching WWDC 2012, I can say that iOS 7 is what iOS 6 should have been.

I mean during the iOS 6 presentation they were advertising things like FaceTime over Cellular and text responses to calls as major features. These are features I'd expect to see in an "All The Little Things" topic, or even a 5.2 update!

Then the features that you get with iOS 7, along with what people have been asking for over and over again. iOS 7 is really the true iOS 6. iOS 6 was really just iOS 5.5.
