Thanks Hugh Mann. I have added both to the table. Curious that your replacement iPad seems builded before your first buy...

If you feel inclined I have a DQTFK with in-spec minimal light bleed in extreme conditions. My iPad 2 is better than my original iPad 1. Mine is good. I received the replacement on May 9th.

Hi,

I have actually taken both my iPads back to Apple, but checked the receipts and both my Serial Numbers began with DLXFF

(i include the picture of my iPads comparing the backlight bleeding)

Your picture is really good for comparison. Maybe ipad 1 has some backlights there too, but is something much more clean and uniform. That's the less I could ask Apple to do with the iPad 2 to accept one.

Hello ! My iPad is DLXFM (18 week) from HK, i think it`s not so bad but and not perfect. Below photo with 100% and 50% brightness

Same Issue

My first ipad 2 had severe backlight bleeding, and I exchanged it a couple of days ago....the second one still has it, but is not as bad. Should I keep trying to swap it out or wait? Is anyone actually getting one that has 0% blacklight bleeding or do all of them have some????

...I will let more people answer and in some hours I will update the table.

@Jrfowlessc I prefer if people say if it's good or bad. Your ipad seems in the limit but I prefer not include average ratings to have a clean table where only appear the Ok or BAD words not to complicate it too much.

I have a DLXFF serial, and the screen bleed is awful.

I was going to take it back last month, but I heard so many people have had no improvement with their replacements that I am going to wait for the next batch of improved screens to hit the iPad 2 and then take it back. I had heard June/July for improved screens, but I have no idea how accurate this is.

At least Apple aren't quibbling about replacing iPad 2's with bad screen bleed, so I am happy enough to wait until the issue is fixed before trying the lottery of seeing if I get a better screen or not.

DLFX - 4.3.3

Still.. bleeding.. but better than my first. Will keep this, but if its worse.. then I might need a replacement (AGAIN)

Guys is the backlight bleed shown in normal viewing environments or do you have to look for it?

It depends on what normal is. If you have a case of bad bleeding and watch a lot of movies, you're probably going to notice it. If you use your iPad for browsing in well lit areas, you probably wouldn't even notice.

Received a brand new one today from Apple Store online (direct from China) with severe back-light bleed. They obviously are still shipping them this way.

Happy with mine which came yesterday. It was shipped from the UK this time though instead of direct from China. Not sure why.

Can you share your first 5 letters of your iPad? Also is it black or white?

How about the one who just received from china? Thanks.

ughh...please don't...lol. I ordered from apple site after returning my bleed unit after 4 or 5 replacements (they literally didn't want to give me a refund, just wanted to keep changing out units till i was satisfied.), rather than wasting gas and such I just ordered from their website the second I read the article that the culprit has been pinpointed and apple is starting to use samsung screens.

as it stands, its in movement to be delivered next friday, i really hope its not another bleed unit, if so...i give up, just gonna return and get on with my life. as pathetic as that makes me sound. LOL.

Wait a minute Apple acknowledged the problem as a screen manufacturer - where?
