But when you watching videos, (including widescreen one) there will be image in that area, right? So the bleeding cannot be seen :(

I guess you are right, but what if I want to sell it before buying the next version? You know the first thing they are going to do is check the backlight and it may be difficult to sell without lowering the price significantly. I've always sold my previous Apple iPods, displays, macbook pros and mac pro with no problem because i kept them in perfect condition. It should be in perfect condition when bought in the first place!

I received my DLXFV iPad today and I'm going to return it. It has only one major backlight bleed on the bottom, but it's pretty severe and very distracting. Here's an image:

That there is exactly how my iPad 2 looks too.

Still waiting for the call from Apple for refund / courier collection.

I've been so burned by this purchase, I don't think I'll buy again.

Still waiting for the call from Apple for refund / courier collection.

I've been so burned by this purchase, I don't think I'll buy again.

I have an appointment at the Apple store Thursday morning. Even though mine was engraved, I was told that I could exchange it at the store or send it in. I decided to just go to the store and get an un-engraved one, in case I have to return that one. If that one is defective, I'll just return it along with the leather cover and camera and get my $1000 back.

DLFXD, ordered online, received first part of May, cool blue but with only one spot down in the lower right hand corner (about 1mm) when on a totally black screen.(but don't notice it when using "star walk" or "red shift"); not noticeable during my normal usage...so keeping it.

i've noticed that when i push down on the bezel in different places i can replicate a similar symptom, has anyone tried to use heat to loosen the glue and see if the issue disappears? curious about it and may try it on a unit i get off ebay

Got my replacement last week

Hi All. I just bought an iPad as a gift for my husband's birthday. The box will not be opened until next week. I am not sure if I should be concerned, but if anyone can take a look at my serial number and give me a sense if all will be okay, I would greatly appreciate it.

SN: DLXF8LT

Thanks,

Linsam

taipan61, could please check again your serial?. I bet it is DLXFD... instead of DLF...

I'm marking it as OK in the next update. If the owner says 'I will keep it' then I set it green. Thanks.

Hi Linsam, hard to say. Your iPad is from week 8. We have only 3 units from this week. Two are OK and one is bad.

I have the feeling you are going to be lucky...

But when you watching videos, (including widescreen one) there will be image in that area, right? So the bleeding cannot be seen :(

Except when you watch a movie like batman, pirates of the carribean, matrix or other movies that tend to be on the darker side. Sure movies like toy story there is little to no hindrance.

Another bad brand new unit.

DN6FV

I was wondering, has anyone gotten brand new, ordered online, 16GB wifi from other factory besides DN6?

I picked up a DN6FT from the store earlier tonight and at 100% brightness there are 3 or 4 barely perceptible bleed spots on the left-hand side and one on the bottom right-hand side. Nothing that I would be at all worried about or consider taking in for an exchange.
