Alright guys, I think I've finally reached the end of this screen bleeding debacle. The story goes: my original launch day ipad 2 (16gb white wifi model, the only one available after I had waited in line for nigh on six hours at an apple store which had a line some 400 people deep) had severe backlight bleeding blighting the entire 1/3 left of the screen. that was exchanged a week later for a unit which for all intents and purposes was worse because while the bleeding was slightly less, it was distributed in an uneven pattern around the entire periphery of the screen. so that went back for a third replacement, which to my luck had only moderate bleeding at the top left of the screen, but was found to have no less than FIVE dead pixels near-center. I was beyond po'ed and at wit's end by that time and sold it, deciding to wait a month for things to clear up with apple's QC issues. Well, a month later I finally found another 32GB black wifi ipad 2 at a target which I drove 2 hours to get to, and guess what, again it had severe backlight bleeding issues visible at less than 50% backlight and with 2 dead pixels. needless to say, that was promptly exchanged for another ipad at a different target. again, screen issues, no dead pixels this time, however there was now a hefty dent on the top right bezel and the digitizer glass seemed to be separating from the case (huge gap was visible on the top). returned it at that point and was resigned to wait two months this time around to see if things would clear up by then. well, finally caved and bought another 32gb black wifi off of some scalper dude on ebay around June, and screen only showed moderate bleeding this time around. everything was working as it should have, until the home button STOPPED RESPONDING. no amount of hard resets could remedy this issue. again, that was exchanged at the apple store for a brown-box replacement, with "7/1/11" stamped on the side of the box and with serial number DLXFQ. thought I had finally come across a good unit when yep, I discovered three dead pixels. well, today I exchanged that sucker yet again and to my relief there are now NO DEAD PIXELS, MINIMAL SCREEN BLEEDING, NO DENTS OR WARPING OF THE CASE/DIGITIZER PANEL, AND NO HOME BUTTON DEFECTS (YET). now there's news about an ipad 2 HD WTF
