Here's hoping the SE is a SE and not a cheep edition. My fiancé's hands will not grow bigger and his phone is not getting any younger.

I hope this is the year they finally switch to USB-C.
My fear is with the adaptation of usb-c, people will not only flock to non-MFi cables, but also low quality cables with no voltage control. Given what will certainly be an even bigger battery, it will be hard to put them blame of phones overheating and exploding on cables.

Bruhhh. Just for the sake of consistency! I really just want to exclusively use USB-C cables.

My external hard drive, iMac, iPad Pro, external battery pack etc. all use USB-C. I think 2020 would be the year hopefully.

I hope they keep the midnight green.

Either they get rid of Midnight Green for Sapphire/Deep Blue or they keep both.

Either way. It is time for a flagship iPhone in a darker blue. Midnight Green totally surprised me on the 11 Pros.

If they actually bling it out with a dual lens and 256GB version, I'm all in on upgrading my 8 and keeping that SE2/8SE/9 for the next 2-3 years. I still love the 6-8 form factor.
Same here

This just in, next years phones will have better hardware. You heard it here first.

What’s your point? If that’s the case then I guess what’s the logic of any rumor site posting any information about future products since “they’ll get better hardware”.

How do we know it's going to be iPhone 12 and not iPhone 11S?

The article is simply identifying the next latest iPhone will be the ‘12’ to let the reader know. It could be an 11s, Macrumors doesn’t know the next iPhone title, apart from anyone else on here.

Generally 's' models don't look any different to the phone they replace while all the omens and supply chain entrails point to this being a complete outward redesign.

I don't understand why a supposed SE 2 has taken so long to get out there, and now it misses Christmas. Unless it has some wonder feature that we don't know about yet.

If it is a cheaper phone Apple may not want that as a Christmas option. Apple loves to push people to higher priced products. A cheaper phone may mean less sales of the more costly phones they sell.

Please stop calling that iPhone 8 spec bump an SE2. It's just not, especially when it seems like 5.4inch 12 Pro is the best option for SE fans.

Is there a technical benefit to doing so? Is there some functionality they cannot provide with lightning but can with USB-C?

With Lightning, it's not possible to reach USB3-speed throughput, let alone 3.1 (10 Gbps). This is why Lightning doesn't support proper (read: uncompressed) 1080p, let alone 4k, video output either.

Of course, it's highly possible they'll have a physical USB-C connector but only with USB2 speeds and won't bother with implementing proper hi-res, uncompressed HDMI video output either.

The iPad Pro already has a USB3 lightning plug, they just haven’t made an adapter cable that supports that speed.

Is not it easy to be Apple analyst these days? Look at Android phone specs from a year or two ago and "predict". Hence 6GB prediction.
Even easier to predict Android processor performance. Just take current iPhone and add 2 years to see when Android phones catch up.

Perhaps, but I suspect it's more of an issue with the type and number of apps that people run, particularly those with AR functionality. 6GB is probably a reasonable bump to give those apps breathing room.

Agreed, but I'm with @Dwalls90 in that having all devices use the same connector (and thus cables) would be a huge benefit.

That’s fair. I can’t really argue with that.

Android smartphones can support up to 12gb of RAM while iPhone 11 Pro has 4gb of RAM.

What's the issue?

iPhone tends to refresh apps too often. Closing all apps does not solve the issue. It's not about the performance. This is why Apple need to increase the amount of RAM and yet they are so lazy about adding more RAM.

This cracks me up. iPhone runs circles around android using half the RAM. Why increase the RAM if “it’s not about the performance”? Just to post bigger numbers on a spec list?

One thing people should research before diving into their upgraded iPhone 8 with cutting edge hardware (SE 2) is network configuration/reception. For example the XS out performs the X with LTE speed and connection by a mile.

Keep in mind Apple is charging, as far as what they feel is, a very low price for the SE 2. With the best CPU and upgraded RAM, they will have to cut cost somewhere. So if you are in network traffic with the same iPhone 8 antenna configuration surrounded by iphone XS, 11 Pros, and Samsung devices, it will not be a good experience, even with all of that upgraded hardware.

That olive drab color is going to come in handy when the new civil war starts. They need a desert tan. Rose gold sorta matches New Mexico. :)

Didnt analysts last year predict iPhone 11 will have 6GB of ram? Take it with a pinch of salt

I think i'll get the SE2 now and the 12 pro in 2-3 years. Sounds like a plan
