I don't understand why a supposed SE 2 has taken so long to get out there, and now it misses Christmas. Unless it has some wonder feature that we don't know about yet.
I don't think Apple expects it to be a huge seller. But I'm happy to be proven wrong! I'm waiting for it. But I'm saddened that Apple is positioning the new SE as a "budget" phone. I want a hi-end iPhone, but in a smaller form factor than what they're currently offering.

Hold out until September then because iPhone 12 will be physically smaller than 6/7/8 according to rumors and hearsay, of course.

USB-C ... USB-C ... USB-C

Everyone wants it on their iPhone ... but Apple.

I am sure Apple makes a boatload off of Lightning based cables and adapters.

In addition ... Airpods ... are ... yup you guessed it ... Lightning.

A USB-C based phone, but you now have Airpods that are Lightning ... ya ... that's not going to fly. I suppose Apple could release a new USB-C based Airpod charging case ... $150 later ... that still won't fly.

(In fact ... this goes for the rest of Apple's headsets no? All are Lightning based.)

Also, next year comes ... 5G. People will grumble and groan about Lightning ... but will throw that concern to the curb just to get on 5G. Just for this fact alone, Apple has no incentive to go USB-C with phones next year.

Phones and phone based accessories - Lightning
Tablet and Laptops - USB-C

Those issues were in software and fixed with an iOS update. The extra ram will be for features exclusive to the new device, likely around being able to buffer 3D imaging or the like.
Are the bugs with multitasking and saving browsers/tabs in the background all fixed?
I’ve been holding onto iOS 12 because of those bugs.

This cracks me up. iPhone runs circles around android using half the RAM. Why increase the RAM if “it’s not about the performance”? Just to post bigger numbers on a spec list?

I told you. The refreshing is the main issue with iPhone. Increasing RAM will be great for performance but Apple is not realizing what is going on with their own product. 4gb of RAM is totally a joke. Oh yeah Apple doesn't even mention its RAM from their website.

I guess you are trolling NickName99 and it's not funny.

The iPhone Classic (SE2), will not likely have wireless charging either. That is why it is not an “8S” model. To keep the price at $399 it will likely be all aluminum more similar to the iPhone 7. The biggest selling point will be an A13 phone at $399. If it has 64GB in the base model, most who buy this phone will likely go with that. The camera will likely be the same as the iPhone XR. So one gets
A13
3GB RAM
64GB storage
Single lens (XR) camera
4.7 inch LCD Retina display
TouchID
All aluminum (no wireless charging)

Not bad for $399. Likely soon discounted to $349 by big retailers. If it does get wireless charging, that makes it even a better value.

I think it’ll just be a slab of aluminum—no display, no camera, but an Apple logo on back, of course. (Or is that the front?)

It’ll sell at US$499. (About $300 more in Canada because, well, they’re Canada and Apple can.)

They’ll market it as The Least Expensive iPhone Yet!

Those issues were fixed in the iOS 13.2.2 patch. The current release is 13.2.3. It’s been a wild ride with the iOS 13 updates! Everything seems pretty good at this point.

The iPhone 12 should be a good upgrade, I just hope Apple keep it at the same price level and offer a 128GB option still. But no mention off the screen technology these devices will use?

Do you honestly think “Apple is not realizing what is going on with their own product”? It sounds like you’re the one trolling, and it is assuredly funny. If “4gb of RAM is totally a joke” then why is it that iPhones blow away Android phones with 8GB?

Even easier to predict Android processor performance. Just take current iPhone and add 2 years to see when Android phones catch up.
Partly true but then, of course, processor performance is just one spec out of many and Android leads in most of them.

I'd really wish they'd stop using the term "iPhone SE 2".

It's a budget phone, but it ain't a "SE 2" for sure.

Agreed - It's only used to drive clicks because the term "SE2" does actually drive interest from current SE users and fans.

Sorry for the unpopular opinion, but I honestly don't give a lick about USB-C on iPhones.

(I know - sorry - it just doesn't matter to me as I have Lightning stuff all over the place but literally zero USB-C in my life to this point)

I think the vast majority of people would not welcome USB-C for the same reason. They already have the cables they use and they haven’t bought into all the latest Apple tech as someone who visits this webisite would.

They would probably think “God, another kind of cable!”
