Everyone and their grandmother knows this rumor is completely bogus, and borderline probably shouldn’t even be reported for ‘news‘.
But how would we witness people losing their minds over something that will never happen!

2022: iphones ship as a pile of unassembled parts, with an IKEA-like instruction sheet.
But only those parts that you can't obtain by breaking down your current iPhone

I agree - most people do not have USB-C chargers, and certainly not in the quantities of USB-A. This is why I am confident one will be included. One of the problem would be the included Cable is *USB-C* to Lightning. Not that many people have a USB-C charger, while USB-A is everywhere.
Why does everyone say "If Steve Jobs was around he would have done ____". Steve Jobs might have done it or might not. Unless you guys have an Ouija board and are somehow asking him from the grave how would you know?
It’s not a stupid thing to report, it’s just stupid full stop. That's a stupid thing to report.
Lol...what public reaction? People will whine a bit and fork over extra money for a basic component. And Apple will do it again and again as long as they are allowed to get away with it.The cost of including a charger is probably less than the cost of the public reaction of not including a charger.
That's a good call out. I have a bunch too. I always donate clothes or furniture to the Salvation Army/goodwill. I'll include these chargers too.Just donate them.
T-hat i-s a 2020 theme... However... M-a-ybe Apple should try the more extreme 2020 theme and go random. Some receive a charger with their iPhone, some receive AirPods, some receive neither, and so on. It would spike the box opening excitement. Huh?!Huh?!I'll take the non-empty box, don't care about notch/no-notch, let the orders be choiceful: either you get a charger or earpods and they come packaged separately.
I'd be okay with that, including the option of "None." They have AppleCare and their software as part of the build-to-order process. When buying the phone they should give you the option to buy a set of apple ear/air/pro or air pods studios if they are out by the release date at a bit of a discount. Both drives iPhone and headphone sales, and customers feel less concerned about not getting headphones with the phone. Win Win.
I don't have a USB-C charger -- see my signature as to why -- but I'm still okay with Apple not including one. Granted, that's a little because I'm (perhaps naively) optimistic the savings will eventually, somehow come back around.I agree - most people do not have USB-C chargers, and certainly not in the quantities of USB-A. This is why I am confident one will be included.
Do you really not own any other charging bricks?I would never have thought a company would not include a power adapter with a device making it useless without another purchase. Except that's exactly what Nintendo did when they released the New 3DS. Should we expect anything different from a company that already doesn't even include a fast charger??
From an ecological viewpoint that sounds like a really good idea. Let people buy chargers as accessories if they really need one. Sooner or later, Apple will kill the physical charging port anyway.
So what's the issue with the one you already have? Does your current charger explode the second you buy a new phone?Let people buy chargers if they really want one???? You do realise that virtually all phones these days need charged on a daily basis? Unfortunately, powered by fairy dust is just for cars at the moment
Right. Except I thought that the AirPods and the iPhone were supposed to communicate somewhat differently because of the W-1 chip and that the handshaking that was going on was more stable. In fact the upcoming AirPods firmware or software release (possibly along with iOS and Mac OS releases) are supposed to make the switching of devices seamless and automatic. Currently if I want to listen with my AirPods on my MacBook Pro and I put the buds in, they pair to my phone, and I must go into my Mac menus and select and connect to transition the AirPods over to the Mac. Soon, apparently just playing audio with the AirPods in on a different device will change the connection. You're not the only ones with BT (audio device) problems, nor is it just AirPods. I've had connection glitches as well as a VERY annoying bug, especially if my BT speaker disconnects due to power save, during the next use, the volume control is non-effective. Typically, if I go through the process of re-pairing the device, volume adjustment will work again but not always.
Basically, I think, Apple has somewhat broken their BT drivers -- not exactly the first quality control issue in recent times though.
How about the cost of 100s of millions of chargers going to the landfill? Most folks have more chargers than devices already, and they all pretty much opt for faster chargers than the default in the box. Just sayin'. There are all sorts of "costs".The cost of including a charger is probably less than the cost of the public reaction of not including a charger.
