That’s why I am leaning towards the 15 pro max this year even I prefer the 15P
My current 14P just isnt good enough

The tests conducted are being portrayed as typical use and linear when that isn't the case. There are too many variables involved that the YouTuber conveniently leaves out. The YouTuber also touts himself as a pro user, whatever that is supposed to mean. lol The video, in my opinion, is being shown through a cloudy lens.

One person may get excellent battery life with the 15 pro while another may get an hour or two less. That happens with every model. That doesn't necessarily mean that the phone that gets less with some users is "bad", as is being portrayed in the video.

With the ability for a lot of the population to charge at least once during the day, I really don't understand the obsession with so many people of not charging when they can, just because they are trying to hold Apple to some definitely battery life when Apple has never guaranteed set battery hours every time for every user under every condition.
This. I either don’t spend enough time on social media or I’m not a Pro enough user, but I have never felt my battery wasn’t adequate, or not been able to charge my phone at least once throughout the day.

I disagree based on my own experience. Left my house today with around 45% battery on the 15 pro. Used Google maps to travel to a destination around 30 minutes away and also used google maps on the way back. I did nothing else on the phone. After that approx. 1 hour, the phone battery was down to 5%. That's significantly worse than my 13 pro.

Weird. With my 15 Pro, I drove ~80 minutes round trip today using Google Maps the entire time, wirelessly connected to Carplay. 40 minutes to dinner, 40 minutes back. Used my phone a little at dinner (not much - mainly to download and look up some wines on the Vivino app at the restaurant). If I had to guess, I'd say this entire 3+ hour excursion used about 15% battery life. I didn't notate the exact percentage when I left the house, but it was probably approximately 65% when I left I believe and ~50% when I returned home.

I’m going to try the 80% max charging limit.

Who’s with me?

I think I might. I only had to charge every other day with my 12 Pro Max (especially the first couple years).

I'm worried the 80 percent will put me at daily charging.

Ok, so full day after yesterday's transfer.
Wife is very hard on her phones, so the 15PM ended today with 8% battery left and 12h SOT. This is a big win from the get go i would say given she plays genshin for an hour or two on a phone call.

I picked it up to put on a charger - it is so much lighter in the same case versus 14PM. Weight alone is enough to have a lighter phone.

Just have a question about my old 13P.

I activated Airplane Mode with wifi on. In 19h battery droppef from 100% to 82% without a single use. Sure a few notification come still through (5-8) but is that normal?

Can be, check your screen off time, there can be some offender app or bug. Happened to me sometimes, a reboot often fixed it

Not really, it just means you are on your phone way too much, I'm using the iPhone 14 Pro and I used to have the 12 Mini before that and the battery on both are fine.

That’s my Problem. I like the size of the 15P but personally the battery of max would be better.

BUT then I would be constantly on my phone. According to my GF I’m already to much on my phone. With the max I would even be much longer on instagram etc. I don’t want to use the phone more than 5-6h per day

I searched for my old 13 Pro launch day battery posts in another forum and have to say probably they are the same. Maybe 15P slightly worse? Time will tell. Yesterday from 8 am to 11 pm I had about 3h SOT with 39% battery left. I was out for lunch for 3h and I used nearly 100% screen brightness and LTE and during my drive I streamed music. Played Clash of clans and Clash royal for about 20 min.

Also what I noticed: When I don't use my phone much during the day battery life is worse. Like checking phone every 20-30 min for about 1-2 min (WhatsApp, iMessage and maybe mail). If I use the phone for 30-40 min straight I get much more screen on time. I once got 10h SOT on my 13P with a lot of YouTube and browsing. But I used the phone for 3h straight (yes 180 min SOT in 3h)

But I had also sometimes 2h SOT with 50% battery left on my then new 13 Pro.

Would be happy to get 6-7h SOT with the 15P.

It would also be nice to customize the low power mode. I want 120 hz but I don't need full CPU and GPU because I don't really play games. With customize low power mode I would use that way more often but can't go back to 60 hz

Anyone here who knows what iOS was used in all the iPhones?

Anyone here who has background app refresh always disabled? How was the battery life compared to background app refresh enabled?

Would it help do describe the 120 Hz screen og 15P? Then at least you get all the other benefits over the basis 15.

Seems like Apple’s tick-and-tock approach to the battery life ends at the 15 series. I’m not all too impressed with the 15 Pro’s showing either. As someone who’s looking to downsize to a regular Pro from my 13 PM, this is disappointing. I guess we gotta wait till the 16 Pro series for some substantial improvement in battery life.

Those tasks that were done, shouldn’t put too much strain on the A17 Pro. My only assumption is the 15 Pro battery size is still too small to benefit from the efficiency of the new 3nm architecture. Seems like the Pro Max is still untouchable and I would still sacrifice size and weight for battery life.

In contrast to the 11 Pro and 13 Pro, they were absolute tanks with battery life for their sizes back when they launched in 2019 and 2021 respectively.

I too would like a lower clock without sacrificing 120hz..

16 pro is rumored to be 6.3 so ofc battery will be better . i just cant stand something bigger so ill just cope with the meh battery on the 15 pro I suppose

So 3,5h SOT + 2:05h screen off (music streamed 30 min, rest offline music + smartgym live activity at the gym)

Most of the time with WiFi, currently on LTE.

Looks comparable to launch 13P.

Note: I only got 8-10h SOT with the 13P while watching 1-3h YouTube videos. It appears there is the 120 hz the best
