haha! yeah, or how about this one, the 'Martian Passport Watch'

Nah, the one I posted is better I think, because they have dropped the voice calling features so you don't look daft speaking into your watch. Makes it a lot cheaper. But I think the screens a bit too small.
I like the razor Nabu idea but again it has tiny screens? I think the best smart device at CES has been the new Garmin Vivofit because of it's nice screen size and the fact it takes a normal cell battery you can change yourself.

That is a nice device.. Unfortunately it won't have iPhone or Android compatibility at launch. Despite this, looks promising.

"Apple is experiencing multiple development issues with its iWatch,"

I thought that is exactly what *development* means?

ZERO use for this product

what a waste of "innovation"

are they coming out with a "Smart Sneaker" or an "iToaster" next

Yeah, I remember how no one wanted an iPhone either. And the iPod was a stupid idea too. Why wait to see, when you can deem it impractical off the cuff?

Yeah, they said it is coming but at present want people to have an online community so it syncs to their servers through your smartphone as opposed to using an app. Garmin have a good rep with fitness gadgets.

Battery, Screen and Manufacturing Issues Plaguing Apple's iWatch Development
Assuming they even work on such a thing. Tim Cook said "the wrist" is interesting, he never said watches are.

Can't wait to get my hands on a smart watch. It can go with the iPad I never use and the AppleTV I never use.

So psyched to have a limited version of an iPhone which I can only use with one hand.

Since you like using products you will never use. You will be glad to know that there are 1000's of Android devices available out there for just that!

I think you hit the nail squarely on the head!

Not sure what's worse, the pretentious declaring themselves superior in those devices, or the people who aspire to be that vacuous and shallow by defending such an utterly offensive position in life.

Integrate flexible battery cells into the band to get additional power... come on Apple we know you can pull this off! :)

The one thing I would want from an iWatch is Siri control. The pebble works well for everything else.

Being able to just tap my watch and start a timer, set alarms, look up information, record voice memos, etc would be really cool. But I would also like it to be waterproof as well.

The new Pebble Steel looks good enough IMO, but it is a bit overpriced.

The iPad 1 should never have been released with 256MB of RAM. Thing ran like a dog very quickly after release.

Not sure whether I should ask you whether you are a capitalist or whether you simply like to rewrite history. Hmmmm, oh the dilemma.

Not a whole heap of people were using smart phones when the iPhone came along. Apple saw a developing market and dominated it.
Wearable tech will apparently be a big market. I think the iwatch could be the start of a range of new products in this category for apple, and they want to start right.

There is a name for all these issues that are "plaguing" Apple's iWatch. Its called product development. You know, the process you go thru when creating something new.

Precisely .... that just means they're setting the bar nice and high & taking the time to get it right. I'll wait for a highly designed product vs get something quick but incomplete.

Yep, because 9 women in a room can create a baby in one month. Throw more resources at the problem!!

No it wasn't. It was brilliant in so many ways. I enjoyed more than a year with my non-retina mini, it was one of the best products I'd ever owned.

I am still using a non-retina iPad mini. I don't see the benefit to upgrade vs the cost of the upgrade over the current model, a little more horsepower and a fancy screen? Pass...My iPad mini has been able to do everything I've thrown at it quite well.

Or basically Apple still can't make a "smart" watch that is something anyone would want.

I kept my iPad 1 until the iPad Mini Retina came out. For the past two years or so, using the iPad 1 had been painful. Slow as hell, and not even capable of running iOS 6, let alone 7. It shouldn't have been released with 256MB of RAM, just like the current iPad Air and Mini Retina shouldn't have been released with 1GB. My Mini Retina is fast, for now, but generates about a dozen LowMemory error logs daily, and by iOS 8 it'll probably run like crap.

They're not going to put a retina display on something as small as a watch screen. Sorry to disappoint you.

Why? It's actually easier to put a retina display on a smaller screen. 480x480 is already retina for a 1.5" display for a watch.

Well, I've got anecdotal evidence that says the iPad 1 still runs great. Why you think it should run the latest OS is simply what I think is an expectation that isn't reasonable. If technology is to improve over time, devices will be left behind in their ability to keep up - that's so simple and obvious I'm embarrassed to even have to state it here, and I'm sure you know this. Right?

The other side of my comment has to do with people who think capitalism is great, but think their consumer expectations should always be met, when capitalism isn't about the consumer, it's about the profit of the capitalist (and Apple is great in this area). It's simply a world where you can't have both, you simply can't claim to be a capitalist and at the same time demand the devices you buy be perfect for you every time in every situation. They're simply incompatible.

I'm not a capitalist, and yet I understand there are trade-offs regarding product development in that world (in *this* world in which we all live). We simply can't have all we want in devices in this capitalist world, if you truly expect differently then let's talk about changing the system, but that's beyond the scope of this forum.
