No you jackass. I still live in the US, I go back back every 8 weeks. And in 3 more weeks, I'll be back in the US for good to start my 3rd year of Med School. What do you do with your life? Aren't you supposed to be fighting for my freedom to own an iPhone? ;)

I mean if you want to get technical, I can use any of these for what I need it for overseas. But I like using Siri... U Mad Bro?

My battery seems to be improving also, as I've noticed a few people say now. I mentioned days ago how my 4S battery life was pathetic right out of the box. It was at 80% charge out of the box, and was dead in 3.5 hours on 3G, (and believe it or not, it was not used for that entire 3.5 hours)

You're supposed to be able to get 6 hours of 3G browsing, and considering that I probably used the internet for only 2 hours of that 3.5 before it died, that's pretty lame (granted I was using location services at one point, and was navigating, if that makes it any better/worse).

Did the update a day or two later, full drains/recharges. I already mentioned that, but bear with me...lol
Anyway, I started noticing strange things. From 1% charge down to when the phone shuts itself down, it lasted 40 minutes haha....meanwhile I was getting about 3-5 minutes of browsing per 1% drop prior to this....
And a couple times, the phone refuses to charge to 100% no matter how long it's left charging. Just stuck at 99% until it's drained and recharged again comlpletely. I think I also read other people noticing this...
Sometimes it says it's at 98% and if I unplug it, it jumps up to 100% on its own a few minutes later lol...
Or sometimes it will go down and then up again between 98-100 a couple times before behaving normally again.
something is definitely messed with the battery meter lol but I'm not too concerned.

After all, I felt it seemed the battery was really catching up to my old phone, and lasting longer than before, after several days. So I started timing myself on everything and doing the math. The battery now matches up to Apple's specs for the 4S battery life.
I'm actually kind of shocked....

I am blaming iMessage. Since I am unlimited SMS I turned it off and got this beauty.

Just used my iPhone for 45 minutes music in gym, still 100%

Gotta love having no buggy push connections draining your battery:rolleyes::apple:

That is not a positive. It means your battery is already not calibrated. Should be at 97%.

I noticed I am getting the advertised wifi browsing times (I am connected to wifi most of the day at home, school, work.)Yesterday I wasn't near wifi at all and operated on 3G the entire day. Got around 3 hours of usage and it died. They advertise what.. 6 hours?

so my 4s has been great since I got it on release day until two nights ago. Suddenly, it was dead at midnight. Odd... Plugged it in and charged. The next day, all was well until I picked up the phone around 9.30pm and it is warm and battery is down to 17%. I powered it down and turned it back on.

Today, it was great all day until 10pm again. Warm, bottom right area right above the dock...battery down to 41%... Power cycled and it is no longer warm and drain stopped.

Something suddenly started triggering the radio... not sure what.

Hope this gets sorted soon, done EVERYTHING. Suggests in this thread, and elsewhere.

My drain worse than ever this morning.

If i knew why some people's battery are draining faster i would be working at apple and a fix would be on it's way.

All i can say is i've never had a problem with battery life. I rarely let it drain completely, normally top it up when it falls to 50-70%.

Yesterday i did my once monthly calibration on the iPhone and iPad. The iPhone 4s had lasted 3 days. That was

1day 16hours standby
8hours 12mins of usage

Which is frankly amazing. That included, lots of browsing, twitter, lots of music, email, phone calls, sms, photo messages and a small amount of other app usage.

Interesting to note, the iPad takes twice as long to charge with a higher wattage charger, so it must have at least double the capacity. Not surprising considering the size.

I was happy when I charged my iPhone today it lasted

6 hours, 35 minutes usage
1 day, 12 hours standby

Quite a bit of it was music - rated at 40 hours i believe.

It is still 10x better than my old Android device.

Battery life getting better and better.

Hi can anyone tell me why my phone doesn't show time since last full charge?
Usage and standby shows "_" and no timespan? Please help or pm me...

That happened to me once, just let your battery die all the way down and when it charges it should appear.

What batterygate? Admittedly, I am at home this week, not using the phone that much (although there is an hour phone call in there, some Words, and a dozen or two texts), and I have full Wifi and Microcell when at home.

Do you listen to music (non-streaming) on your phone or read ebooks? If so how much of this time was spent doing either?

No more than usual. Two hours of music listening. Three hours on 3G checking various news and feeds. The rest was on WiFi network.

So are we expecting iOS 5.0.2 to fix the battery issue for good?

Unfortunately i'm getting used to the bad battery life, but the iPhone 4S for me, is a temporary phone, until the iPhone 6 comes out.

wifi & bluetooth off. Fairly light usage....no complaints whatsoever.

Just watched battery go from 78% to 56% browsing MR for 40 minutes. One window, 50% brightness, WiFi.

:(

Try turning off cellular data (under general-> network). I've had about 20hrs standby on my phone with almost no usage since I got it, meaning about 5% drop per hr in standby. After turning off cellular data I've gone over 1,5hrs without a percentage drop (in standby ofc.).

I know this is not a permanent fix, just a temporary fix untill they find out what the hell is going on:p

Turn off cellular data when you don't need it and if you're outside and want to surf then just turn it on, surf and turn it off again.

You people posting 6-10hr usage time, what kind of reception are you getting over 3G?

Me and my friend both bought iphone4s on the same day, nearly identical setup/apps. I always have 5bars where I am at usually, I get 5-6hr usage time. My friend gets 0-1 bars typically and gets 2-3hrs usage time.

I'm in a 4-5 bar area most of the time with good battery life...
