So are we expecting iOS 5.0.2 to fix the battery issue for good?

Unfortunately i'm getting used to the bad battery life, but the iPhone 4S for me, is a temporary phone, until the iPhone 6 comes out.

The Genius I talked to at the apple store on Sunday told me there wasn't a 5.0.2 coming out and that the rumors are false :(

Yeah, use it for music only and you can get 14Hrs of usage with 24hrs of standby. Play games and 6 hrs is what you can expect.

Pretty proud of my iPhone over the pastt day - but i havent left the house, so the one time im fit to charge it i dont need to!! haha

Not bad for the last day. Haven't been out much or used it for calls but it held up well nonetheless.

I think we can chalk this up as a non-issue now... or do we need to see more screenshots of people getting 6 hours+ usage with 24+ hours standby?

You people posting 6-10hr usage time, what kind of reception are you getting over 3G?

Me and my friend both bought iphone4s on the same day, nearly identical setup/apps. I always have 5bars where I am at usually, I get 5-6hr usage time. My friend gets 0-1 bars typically and gets 2-3hrs usage time.

It is common knowledge that screen is number one battery drain followed by GPS UNLESS your iPhone is having trouble connecting to the network then it switches battery consumption with GPS in place number two.

I can keep posting my sub 20hrs in standby mode screen if that is what it takes for the issue to be taken seriously?

Just because many don't have problems does not mean there are those with big problems.

Can't speak for anybody else but I have seen a good deal of improvement in battery life since turning off icloud back-up.

when at work where my 4s was draining alot in standby due to searching for a 3G connnection...no 3G connection at work....but my usage stats were so high even when i wasn't using the phone...now that is gone.

Before I was losing a good 6% an hour before turning off icloud back-up...now i barely lose 1-2% which is great when on edge.

200hrs standby time is false advertisement
No it's not. Turn EVERYTHING off on the Phone, lowest brightness, no nothing and don't touch it I'm sure you'll get very close.

That's how every company calculates these things. Same thing when they do MPG for cars. They create an optimum setting to get the best numbers to report. Welcome to the world of business marine.:apple:

Sorry, I can't go without Siri for 8.5 days. Love that girl. But I can pull almost 4 days with almost 10 hours of use with only Wifi on, I'm sure you remember ;)

So what do you think that Standby will be with no usage or Wifi on... yeah I'd say about 8 days

No theres like a million screen shots here of usage here already so I would assume someone would have a 200hrs snap shot by now.
Again, I don't think anyone on this forum can put down their 4s for 200 hrs. Why don't you do it since your disputing it?

It's Apple's burden of proof not mine, to prove that their phone last that long. Extrodinary claims require Extrodinary proof.. Since we have a thread called "barterygate" that's telling me Apple is not delivering on their claim.

From Apple's website...
Talk time: Up to 8 hours on 3G, up to 14 hours on 2G (GSM)
Standby time: Up to 200 hours
Internet use: Up to 6 hours on 3G, up to 9 hours on Wi-Fi
Video playback: Up to 10 hours
Audio playback: Up to 40 hours

You do know what "up to" means right? It's the absolute maximum. All the usage and standby times in this post still falls into Apple's criteria. The burden of proof is on you, because neither you or anyone here has actually tried to get 200 hrs of standby. Put your phone up to the test troll.

Heres what I got and it says connected since last charge but that is because i synced one album, but other than that it hasnt been charged.

I think its about right overachieving if anything as its mainly been used over wifi getting the 9,10 hrs plus standby

Now I"m a troll cause I want evidence?? It's a shame dealing with low self esteem people..

Why...

Why do we have BatteryGate?

Could it be payback for all the hate spewing towards Android?

Could it be that Apples finding out just how hard it is to progress in the smartphone space ?

Could it be revealing that Apple in not as perfect as they would have you believe?

Could it be that Apple is now left to complete on a level playing field?

Think about it ... I do :)
