1% per hour. I get the same. Something's wrong. Apples specs say 200hrs standby not 100

Maybe the battery's are duff and not holding their charge?

Have you done a hard reset? Maybe an app is hanging and using your battery... Also I have noticed a big jump in battery life after turning off all iCloud features other than Find My iPhone and Backup. Don't know what your settings are, but try a hard reset and when you turn off your iCloud features see how it goes.

EDIT: BTW that's a lot of appointments lol

I've tried that, still got a battery drain somewhere. i'm going to plug in the Mac later and see if there are any stats between these times.

PS, I'm not going to publish my appointments... would you?

I was averaging 10 hours of standby and about 3 to 4 hours of usage and would be down to 20% battery left. My usage included texting, twitter, Facebook, about an hour of calls, and minimal web browsing. This was on 5.0.1. I recently restored and upgraded to the new build of 5.0.1 which they said only fixed SIM card issues. This is what I'm at right now with texting, twitter, Facebook, 2 hours of calls, and about an hour of web browsing:

I restored and then restored from a backup to get the new 5.0.1. I was getting major phantom usage like others here. Battery went down ~25% overnight. I restored again and set up as new and now I got 4% drain overnight. I'm at 3.5 hours usage and around 21 hours standby with 47% remaining. Pretty damn good. I haven't installed any apps, so no push notifications. I did set up iCloud, have iCloud mail and gmail set to fetch every 30 minutes. I turned off the BS location services (compass calibration, iads, diagnostics). My 3.5 hours usage is about 30 minutes of calls, the rest texting and web. Some Siri in there too.

I'd like to have all my previous settings and game saves. I'm now going to restore from my previous backup and see if I can keep this good battery life up. I'm hoping that since I set it up as new immediately following the restore, I fixed whatever bugs were in there.

I think I speak for a lot of people when I say..... WHERE THE **** IS 5.1????

It's been WEEKS since they thought they initially fixed it with 5.0.1, how the hell did this build ever make it out of testing when they were putting the 4S through its paces??

It takes longer than a few weeks to come out with a major release... all of the .1/.2/.3 are considered major releases, unlike .0.1/.0.2 etc. Give it time... we're only up to beta 2 on 5.1 and you can bet we'll see a couple more betas before a public release. This past beta is a week and change old so I'd expect a new one sometime after Christmas and before the new year.

Well they might as well take their time with it I just hope the battery drain issue is fixed. I expect it around end of January.

The 0.5%/hr is probably in the most ideal conditions. Maybe full strength signal and no movement. Maybe even airplane mode? I haven't seen anyone with only 0.5%/hr standby battery drain.

My 4S seems to have 0.5%/hr drain on standby. The other night I checked my percentage before I went to bed, woke up 8 hours later and checked, and it was 4% lower. 0.5%/hr x 8 hours = 4%.

Maybe I'm lucky? Maybe there was a bad batch in the mix around launch?

I just got mine.

Your father dies of a brain tumor, I'm totally happy with my brain, I don't know why we need to spend money or time on a cure, not sure what people are complaining about. See where we can take this......

LOl yea. You're trying to say that just b/c I don't have a problem doesnt mean others dont. And my situation is not representative of the whole. But you're reading too much into my comment. I'm happy with my battery life. I'm just here to brag about it. :D

How are you getting 7 hours of usage and well over 2 and a half days of standby? Do you turn airplane on a lot? What do you use your phone for? Or is that what it's supposed to be? Cuz if thats the case, my battery isnt as good as I thought it was.

I do all the normal stuff. Calls, email, twitter, Facebook, instagram, record videos, web browse, text, etc. On this particular usage I didn't play any games..which may be why it is better than usual. I usually get 1.5 day standby with 7 hours usage. The extra standby this time maybe because I didn't play games. When I do it's normally things like bowman, flight control, flick field goal to name a few.

And I never use airplane mode.

Just got my best stats on standby when I charged it with 3% left

6 hours, 10 minutes usage
1 day, 17 hours standby

iPhone 4S Battery Tips

Well, I would like to make some comments of a set of settings that worked for me:
1. first of all I really don't know why but if I turn Wifi On during the night my battery drops like 30% in 6 hours of sleep, so try not to turn on Wifi unless is necessary, u can test it out but 3g works much better in standby than wifi in my phone.

2. i use all the normal settings: icloud on with push, facebook, whatsapp, location services all on, data on, notifications all on, background apps, etc...
But I found 3 things that improved me a lot my battery life: Wifi On only when needed, siri off, setting time zone off, and most important, Gmail with gmal setting in fletch at 15 min, without using ms exchange at all.

If u need the mail with push, i think is better wait for an update, but for now this solution has worked for me very well...

I attached my results, it said's that the iPhone has been plugged, but i only plugged to transfer 4 photos to my PC at work, so imagine the percent is at 3% or so.

I hope this can help someone with a problem like mine, this is my fourth day with positive results so you can check it out if it helps somehow...

Sorry for my bad english, Im not from USA.
Thank You

I seem to have figured our what's causing my phantom usage... having songs on my iPhone!?

I tested it and it had great battery life until I put my music on my phone...

But why!?
