… why do you take the case running with you? Even with transparency activated I get three to four hours on average with my Pro’s. How far are you running that you need to take the case?
I don't take the PowerBeats Pro case with me when I run. I take the AirPods case because I don't always have pockets (otherwise they slide out of my ears). I do take my AirPods Pro with me most every place else though, so portability is key. I was hoping there'd be one set of wireless bud to rule them all if the new Beats Fit had a super portable case like the AirPods Pro. They don't. So no reason to replace my others. That's the point I was making.

Hold it: these tips look almost identical to the Pros. Are they interchangeable? Could we use colored Beats tips on our AirPods Pro?

the AirPods Pro uses a custom oval shaped ring to click the silicone tip in... the Beats, including this, connect via a small round opening that looks more like a small tube... its very different and they are NOT interchangeable for sure.

Pass. I got suckered into buying low quality Beats earbuds a few years ago and could never get them to stay connected to my iPhone.

Never again. Apple ruined the brand in my eyes and it’ll forever be associated as garbage for me.
The cheap Flex unit works pretty well; was worth the money spent but these new wireless buds look nice.

AirPods 3 headed back.. ordered these in Black for a friday delivery

Liked the AP3 but the lack of Noise cancellation was a deal breaker. Yes, I knew when I ordered them they lacked ANC, but I thought it worth a shot with the better "fit"
Why didn’t you get the pros in the first place if ANC was something you wanted?

Following their appearance in iOS 15.1 and some celebrity leaks, Apple's Beats brand today is officially announcing Beats Fit Pro, fitness-focused wireless earbuds that include flexible wingtips to help them fit securely in the ear.

The $200 Beats Fit Pro also include all of the features you'd expect from higher-end Apple earbuds, such as silicone tips in three sizes, Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Transparency audio modes, Adaptive EQ, spatial audio with dynamic head tracking, and an H1 chip for "Hey Siri" and Find My support as well one-touch pairing on iOS, automatic switching among devices on the same iCloud account, and audio sharing.

beats-fit-pro-9.jpg

We've been using the new Beats Fit Pro for close to a week, and the best description we can come up with for them is a fitness-focused version of the AirPods Pro. They have very similar feature sets but almost completely different designs, with the Beats Fit Pro lacking the stems seen on all AirPods models and going with a low-profile in-ear look with wingtips for stability.

beats-fit-pro-3.jpg

Three different sizes of silicone ear tips are also included to help find the best fit for your ear canal, with an Ear Tip Fit Test available in Bluetooth settings to assess whether your selected tips are providing a good seal.

beats-fit-pro-8.jpg

On the fitness side, Beats says it measured thousands of ears to be able to digitally model the soft wingtips, which indeed are quite flexible yet provide good stability to keep the Beats Fit Pro secure in the ear. Getting an earbud in place requires just a slight twist after inserting it into your ear, hooking the wingtip in place in your upper ear. The Beats Fit Pro also have an IPX4 rating, which means they are sweat- and water-resistant so you won't need to worry about them while working out.

beats-fit-pro-4.jpg

Setup is super simple thanks to the H1 chip, so all you have to do is bring the Beats Fit Pro close to your device and open the case, at which point you'll see a series of prompts to get your earphones paired to your device and walk you through the basic functions.

beats-fit-pro-10.jpg

As for sound quality, Beats says it has developed an all-new transducer for robust sound, along with a new vent system to minimize distortion in the treble range and eliminate discomfort. In our testing, we found very good quality on par with the AirPods Pro, though a bit heavier in the low end, which isn't much of a surprise for a Beats product.

The Beats Fit Pro include dual beamforming microphones in each earbud, as well as an internal microphone and voice accelerometer, all of which work together to optimize sound quality both for audio playing in your ears and for picking up your voice.

beats-fit-pro-6.jpg

With no stems, the Beats Fit Pro don't feature squeezable force sensors for onboard controls as on the AirPods Pro and third-generation AirPods. Instead, the outer surface of each earbud features a Beats "b" button that supports multiple functions, just like the Beats Studio Buds and similar to the Powerbeats Pro.

beats-fit-pro-7.jpg

A single press of the "b" button on either side will play or pause audio or answer or hang up a phone call. A double press skips to the next audio track, while a triple press skips backward. By default, pressing and holding the button for a second rotates through the various listening modes.

The press and hold gesture for each earbud can be configured independently through the Beats Fit Pro listing in your Bluetooth settings, with the ability to select which of the three listening modes (ANC, Transparency, and standard with Adaptive EQ) are included as options as you cycle through, or to set one side to activate Siri rather than change listening modes, for example. Or, you can use the press and hold gesture for onboard volume control, selecting one side for raising the volume and the other for lowering it.

beats-fit-pro-11.jpg

Skin detect sensors located in the earbuds mean that Beats Fit Pro can tell when they are in your ears and automatically play or pause when you insert them or remove them from your ears. With the specific ability to detect skin contact, you also won't have issues with the earbuds being tricked into activating playback when tossed into a bag, for example.

beats-fit-pro-5.jpg

You can also control listening modes in Control Center on your iOS device by long pressing on the volume control to bring up additional options. You can also turn Spatial/Spatialize Audio on or off, and choose between fixed or head tracking when you have the surround audio experiences turned on.

beats-fit-pro-12.jpg

Battery life is rated at up to six hours with ANC or Transparency turned on, and that can be pushed to seven hours with those functions turned off. Our informal testing found results consistent with those stated benchmarks. The carrying case charges over USB-C (no wireless charging, unfortunately) and provides up to 21 additional hours of battery life with ANC/Transparency. A Fast Fuel charging feature delivers an hour of playback after just five minutes in the case, and they can charge to full in about an hour and a half.

beats-fit-pro-2.jpg

The charging case for the Beats Fit Pro is significantly larger than that for the AirPods or AirPods Pro, though not nearly as big as for the Powerbeats Pro. The earbuds snap into their slots in the charging case magnetically and remain firmly in place even with a fair amount of shaking of an open case.

beats-fit-pro-1.jpg

The Beats Fit Pro do support Android with the dedicated Beats companion app for the platform supporting one-touch pairing, a guided fit test, and the ability to toggle listening modes and customize the "b" button, but you won't get the full suite of Apple-specific features enabled by the H1 chip.

The Beats Fit Pro are priced at $199.99 and are available in four colors: Stone Purple, Sage Gray, White, and Black. They are available to order in the United States starting today with shipments beginning November 5. They will launch in China in early December, with additional countries to follow in 2022.

I'd like to say that this is bu*****t that they don't do a worldwide this year.

Curious about this as well. I would definetly not do any jogging or running with my Airpods Pro as these type of plugs just dont sit tight enough into my ear no matter what tip I use; when running they will fall out.

Wondering about this as well. I occasionally run with my Pros, but I feel like I’m constantly resetting them in my ear.
It’s entirely because the silicone tips are too soft. They create zero friction, so they don’t stay in anyone’s ears. Everyone I’ve seen who claims they fit fine, all fail the ear fit test.

Hopefully these are better and more reliable than my Powerbeats pro. Those have to be set in the charging case JUST right, otherwise they won't charge and drain. You have to put them in, manipulate them til you see they are charging (check status on phone), then you close the lid, that sometimes moves them enough to stop charging. What a headache. And when I sent them back as they were having non-charging issues, I was told they were working fine, and then came across others with same niggly little charging problem. I like Apple stuff overall but not too impressed with the Powerbeats pro.
I am a fan of my Powerbeats pros, but I have had the same charging issue. It’s somewhat moderated by the quick-charge feature (I was able to get enough juice in 5 minutes for an hour-long run this morning after finding them drained.)

These new buds look like they would check all my boxes for a replacement:
1. Earhook inside the ear instead of outside, which won’t fight with hats, glasses, or headbands (and hopefully fits more snugly all around).
2. Smaller case is exciting, since the current one is redonkulous (and hopefully fixes the charging issue you mentioned)
3. ANC and other feature upgrades, including more touch controls (if I read right)

Instant buy, I get mine Friday. I've used Airpods, Beats Powerbeats Pro, Airpods Pro, Beats Studio Buds, and now Beats Fit Pro.

AirPods -> fall out of my ear instantly, even walking. Putting aftermarket "wings" on them fixed the problem but you had to take it on and off every time you removed it from the case which was unacceptable long term. Also the lack of ANC is a big problem since I use headphones extensively on airplanes every week.

Powerbeats Pro -> most secure workout headphones I have ever used (when the car runs you over on the side of the road they will stay on). sound very good if a bit heavy on the bass and because of their tight fit even though they don't have ANC you do "ok" on airplanes. on the side of the road running you won't hear that car coming though. the biggest problem? huge case, huge price, and major problems with the case not charging the headphones after a few months due to wonky fit and this is something that ends up affecting nearly everyone who has bought these over an extended period of time. No wireless charging too.

AirPods Pro -> a much better fit but STILL falls out during runs, great sound, all the cool "Apple Ecosystem" features. the ANC is *very good* and the transparency mode is like magic. The fit is the major issue for me and this became my "non-workout" headphones and then I used Powerbeats Pro for workouts. The two headphone lifestyle was not fun.

Studio Buds -> came out of left field and shocked me. first the sound is near identical to the AirPods Pro which is to say: outstanding. the fit is AMAZING for me and really stays in the ear... they do not fall out during runs although on occasion loosen a bit so I push them back in firmer. They also look so much better to me without the stems. I have been wearing these as my ONLY headphones since they launched... BUT (and there is always a BUT)... the "nice stuff" from AirPods was missing. First off ANC was only 75% as good. Still plenty good for airplanes but it was clearly noticeably not as good as the AirPods Pro. Transparency mode on these SUCK and basically give you a hint of the world outside your music but everything sounds fake and hard to understand. No way I could carry a conversation leaving these in and not nearly as safe on runs. And finally all the nice stuff from AirPods... they don't turn off when you remove them from your ear, no spatial audio, no auto switching when moving between Apple devices etc. The thing is... the small size, great fit, great sound made it still worth it... UNTIL...

Fit Pro -> these look like my loved Studio Buds but with EVERYTHING fixed. Same great fit but with the wingtips that eliminate all remaining worries about loosening or falling out? CHECK. Same great sound? Reviews say even better CHECK. Better ANC? They say it is now the equal of AirPods Pro CHECK. Better Transparency mode? Thank god, the reviews say the same as AirPods Pro again: CHECK! All the nice Apple features like auto stop, spatial audio, switching etc. CHECK! Still no wireless... can't win 'em all.

I obviously have spent way too much on earphones but finally I think my dream buds are here... AirPods Pro with a more secure, fitness focus fit while ditching the stem? Yes please. I'll check back in next week and let you know how it is going.
I’ve only had the AirPods, AirPods Pro and Beats pro. And I’m the same conclusion exactly.
AirPods Pro for everything other than working out. Can’t have the hooks at work with glasses for long periods and the AirPods Pro’s fall out to easy.
Can’t wait for these.
And yes to the charging issue with beats.

I don't know why you think this is an Apple problem. Do you really think Apple DOESN'T WANT to sell high end headphones to a wealthy, English speaking (for packaging and marketing) western country?

I'm sure there is a regulatory issue preventing this and you can blame the Canadian government for this.
As a Canadian, I would be genuinely curious at what kind of regulatory issue is preventing these from being sold now, when the Beats Studio Buds were Day 1 in Canada, were they not? (I think they were?)

I plan to upgrade from mine. They seem superior in every way… Other than maybe the full earhooks.

Apple treats Beats as sub brand. Just went into their web page and there is no mention about the earphones on the main page, but the AirPods are there. To see the Beats line it is necessary to click accessories on top of the page, then Headphones and Speakers and then you get to see AirPods and Beats products.

Now it got confusing... Beats Fit Pro vs Beats Studio Buds vs Power Beats Pro
I wish you can compare all of the headphone. I can compare AirPods vs Airpod Pros, and Beats Vs Beats (whatever), but I can’t compare these vs AirPod Pros. Unless I am missing something.

My experience exactly.
Yeah those are already looking better than powerbeats pros in terms of what it's offering. But if the annoying like really annoying case issues are gone then I will exchange my powerbeats pro ASAP for those. Whenever The Source in Canada gets them.
The Powerbeats Pro are hideous and gigantic! Ugh. Aside from the problem with anything labeled 'beats' and the resultant sound profile...those things are just too large to put over my ears. I can see myself tossing them across a room after fiddling with them due to the size. But I like small wireless earbuds. These beats are attractive and may sound good -- I would love to hear/read a real evaluation of both the ANC, sound quality, fit, and comfort. I'm sure that if Apple says they're water-resistant, they'll be reasonably so. My current earbuds are not rated for water-resistance, but I work out with them anyway, and no problems so far in several different models (Bang and Olufsen e8's).

I'm just glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has spent way too much on too many models of earbuds!

Though so far, I have entirely stayed outside the AirPods/Beats ecosystem—despite the ease of use with my iPhone, and other Apple devices, etc. Mostly, I have used Bang and Olufsen, though I did first try several other brands of true wireless buds: JayBird (a few different models), Bragi The Headphone (earbud), and one other I can't remember now. LOL. But, for the past 4 years or so I've stuck to the Bang & Olufsen e8's (since 2017). I know they've been slammed in reviews for everything from the high price (which is true) to wireless connectivity (I fault user-capability...)...but I'm on the 3rd iteration and I've never had any of those problems.

And the sound is amazing. Likewise, the fit, and now greatly improved battery life; and finally, this year with ANC.

For that reason, I have stayed away from the AirPods/beats offerings, as none have been sufficiently tempting due to one or another shortcoming (short battery life, poor sound, no EQ, and in many cases...ugly and overstated designs, available in one color only). The AirPods Pro ANC really tempted, but 4.5 hours battery life and the prospect of natural battery degradation within 1-1/2 years to 3 hours (or less) is just not that appealing to me.

Anyhow...these do look great. I'll be looking for some in-depth reviews, for sure!
Meanwhile...planning my purchase of the B&O e8 with ANC (newest model). 6.5 hours battery life WITH ANC on. This is what Apple should be doing with their AirPods etc - extending the battery life as well as the other features. The first e8's had just 4.5 hours battery life. They've steadily improved them, including adding ANC to this latest model. I love Apple products overall, but sometimes they just seem to be so slow at adding real improvements (that I want‚—I know many of you feel differently).

Do people buy used power beats pro in the US? Where is a good place to sell? I feel like I want to upgrade to these.
Look on ebay. I've bought numerous 'used' or simply 'open box' or 'like new' electronics. Just be sure to use a well-rated seller with many reviews!

UK, Australia, Canada etc never get Beats products at the same time as the US.

Why is that the case? Apple can launch iPhones and Apple Watches in multiple countries at same time.
Well, right now, I wonder if the chip manufacturing shortage plays a role in the geographically limited release? I'm not saying that's the reason (as Apple obviously releases products on their own schedule all the time), but I wonder if it is a factor.

This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for, new set of headphones to replace my Jaybird vistas that finally crapped for running.

I think I'm gonna wait to see how the new Jabra Elite 7 Active's work since those has touch controls as a preference, and no wing tips but some coating to prevent slippage during exercise. I'm skeptical about those, but not for slippage but for how long that coating will last. I've seen similar coating as the Motorola V300 series after 1.5yrs just get guwee and gross.

Just unsure. the key factor for me is the ability to pair and switch to multiple devices (laptop for soft phone calls: Skype, IPCommunicator, MS Teams) while still enjoying with my mini, MBP and ATV4.

Hold it: these tips look almost identical to the Pros. Are they interchangeable? Could we use colored Beats tips on our AirPods Pro?

I thought the same as well. Someone else said the Pro's are proprietary but it just makes more sense for Apple to colour the ear tips and spread them across various products, cheaper mass production cost and use.

Hip-Hop yes, but with EDM becoming more popular these days that music style would benefit from these as well since some variations of the genre (like Dubstep) are very bass heavy.

Also, it's not that Beats were outright "bad", it's just that they were asking for a lot more money compared to the quality being outputted solely because it was the hot brand in town. They nailed the bass, but the overall sound wouldn't pass an Audiophile's test.

LOL ... is Dubstep even still a thing? really? EDM is for Kiddies ... Dark Tech baby! All is good, every time I hear Dubstep I think of that movie "We are Your Friends" (hardcore section lol) which did a great section of music:

the basics was good and I've been dancing to all forms of house since '87 so I was grinning at this scene (knowing lots of sexy honeys and DJs over the years)

Airpods pro: wireless charing case, touch controls

Not exactly touch controls, force controls so pressure is needed. It's a nice balance between buttons and touch - just the implementation on the AirPods Pro seems to be ... femine in my mind. That pinch by the earlobe seems to be some old school feminine queue to a hint or something, maybe just me.

Watching Soldier Knows Best video of the Beats Fit Pro's shows not only how sleek these are (buh-bye showing off ear hair for me lol) but also the need of force for button press, not a fan of pushing earbuds in my ears just for controls.

lol our regulations are VERY similar to the USA in terms of networks and electronics. It's funny you automatically goto government as the root cause yet maybe not even consider a limited product supply issue considering the latest Qtr numbers from Apple shows $6Billion lost sales for chip supply concerns. Hmm, I see you.

Yes, similar. But regulatory authorities still have to put their rubber stamp on the import licence. But yes, supply may also limit which markets get what.
