It does not always work and I don’t exactly want the AC when it’s cold outside. As this is an air vent mount, would it be possible to blow cool air over the phone to prevent this?
"Priced at $100, the Boost Charge Pro Wireless Car Charger is designed to attach to the vent inside of a car. It can be used in landscape or portrait mode, and it comes with a USB-C cable and a CLA charger that can be plugged into a car lighter socket."
Thank you! At current Amazon pricing you can nearly buy two of these plus two Apple MagSafe adapters for the price of one of the Belkin mounts. Belkin's pricing is idiotic.Just get this Spigen vent mount. $19.
They saw the new Apple pricing strategy and decided “Yup, let’s do that too”Priced at $100
I actually hate both those features personally, vent mounts have overheated my phone in the past with heat on, or I have to turn off that vent, which sucks, and integrated cables mean soldering or throwing out the whole device if the cable gets damagedThis Belkin design is really good. 15W MagSafe and a vent mount with cable integrated. Makes you wonder why this was not done by the competition months ago.
It can definitely handle it, I have their 7.5W magnetic mount. But $100 is overpriced, definitely.Overpriced. Not confident magsafe could handle bumpy roads. Plus slow charging while using GPS I question how useful this is.
The same people who spend $250 for ear buds, $1200 for an phone, $3500 for a laptop. I don’t know if you noticed or not, but this is an Apple forum 😂$100 for a car vent mount?! Who is buying this?
I think it depends on your car. I have a small compact car that rides like a tank. It’s not the vent clip that’s the weak point, but MagSafe just isn’t strong enough for hard bumps. If you have a nicer car, that’s larger then you don’t feel those bumps.Overpriced. Not confident magsafe could handle bumpy roads. Plus slow charging while using GPS I question how useful this is.
I have the same problem. Which one from Mophie do you have?I hope it stays on the vent better than their non-charging vent. That was TERRIBLE. My car has a stiffer sport suspension, but it was constantly falling off. I think it’s buried in the center console of my car. The one from Mophie stays so much better.
I got it at a kiosk at the mall. I use the Mophie Snap in one car, and this one in another car.I have the same problem. Which one from Mophie do you have?
I was about to say, can’t you just use a cheap mount like that and the Apple charger for the full 15w?Just get this Spigen vent mount. $19.
It’s nice until the phone starts to overheat from using GPS and charging at the same time..
I have a similar one and my 12PM overheats regularly when charging and gps, especially if it’s sunny outside.
It’s a vent stand. Turn the AC on in the car and you’ll have cold air blowing directly on the phone. It’s more than enough to keep the phone cool.I also want to say that without proper cooling, especially in a car, it can get quite hot (direct sunlight, closed interior) and with full 15w charging speed, this is going to generate so much heat for the phone which will end up damaging The battery; lower life span, maybe even swelling.
and kudos belkin for making the cable fully attached to the damn hing, very apple thing to do
You can buy the $40 non charging onewhat about CarPlay I use mine to connect to CarPlay so wouldn't be able to charge it the headhunt charges it
You have to include the cost of a 20w car adapter as wellThank you! At current Amazon pricing you can nearly buy two of these plus two Apple MagSafe adapters for the price of one of the Belkin mounts. Belkin's pricing is idiotic.
