For $249, you can get: Apple - Apple - Apple Watch (first-generation) 42mm Space Black Stainless Steel Case - Space Black Milanese Loop Band - Space Black Milanese Loop Band
And here I am, paying $549 for my Series II, Stainless Steel Space Black, with a Sport band!!! Ugh, all to have the latest technology. Frustrating (Yes, I know I could simply not buy it, but...)

If this was still available to order I'd be all over it. Unfortunately it was short lived!
not sure where he's getting $249 for that one? it's $349 on BB website and i ordered that one yesterday.
It's actually on the website for $249 too, but out of stock and not available locally.

oh wow, didn't see it when i was searching. it's space black SS, thought it was SS.
I'm not sure. But you just bought it for $349? Do you have the link to that?
For someone who never had an AW the SS S0 looks fine and will do the job with WatchOS3 - but the battery life will be fairly bad if you workout. If you are coming to AW S1 or S2 the S0 will feel lethargic. The S2 is far faster - and it's not a "nice to have"; it makes the watch far less frustrating (i.e., smooth) to use in most any circumstance. The S0 is just slow to boot, to load anything, it locks up or stutters. Watch OS3 improved this a LOT but it's still nowhere near the S1/S2.
I had S0 SS since launch and had WatchOS3 on it all summer. It does improve the watch... but the S2 is just much better. It's all relative I suppose.
Personally, I would only recommend a S0 at any price now to someone who just wants notifications, time, and basic workouts. That's it. And for some people - that's awesome! If you want to do any more with it though.... definitely S1 or S2.
I should know this already, but what's the difference between Series 0 and Series 1? I thought that all the old Apple Watches were updated to Series 1.
Series 1 has a faster dual core processor and full water proofing down to 50 meters. The Series 2 is that plus GPS and a brighter screen. Zero functionality differences between all 3I should know this already, but what's the difference between Series 0 and Series 1? I thought that all the old Apple Watches were updated to Series 1.
Series 0 = Original apple watches left in the wild without updated processor
Series 1 = Original apple watch with updated processor
Series 2 = New apple watch with updated processor, water proofing or whatever, and GPS
I paid for overnight shipping.
I have pretty big wrists but I could not pass up the 38mm black link model. does the Apple store sell extra links?
I use a lot of workout apps like fit weightlifting, gymaholic, I also use a few weather apps like dark sky, carrot, and radarscope. I use drip to look at my nest cam, deliveries, hue, vidgets, just press record, chronicle, ETA, and more. All of which were just too damn slow to load on the S0 or after were in the dock they'd unload due to lack of memory over time.Thats really all I want the watch for. I tried a bunch of apps other than weather and banking haven't found a single one worth my time. Uber works well enough but I always want more information than the watch can show anyhow.
I am curious what apps you use that you feel are compelling.
through best buy? did your store have some?I can't believe how insane these deals are. I just grabbed a 38mm Stainless Steel w/a Link Bracelet for $250!!!!!
This time last month, that same watch would have been $950. Nuts!
