Grabbed a 38mm space black w/link bracelet. I know it won't fit my wrist, but I thought they sold extra links but it appears that's only for the 42mm.. :( looks like i need to cancel it.

I just bought this, this is insane. Apple sells that link bracelet alone for $450 on their website. Here you are getting a 1st gen SS watch and link bracelet for only $250!
I considered this deal a few times just for the link bracelet - but the big problem (for me) is it's 38mm only.

After a year with a 38mm watch I recently up-sized to a 42mm watch and I absolutely love it. Easier to see, longer battery, easier to touch. No way I'm going back down to 38mm.

If it was 42mm I'd be all over it. :)

Same here.
Hell I'd do it just for the band and then sell the watch

How is the speed of Series 0 with WatchOS3?

Debating between this and an aluminum series 2
I have both. Series 2 loads app about 2-4 seconds faster than Series 0. Honestly, it's not a night and day difference...but Series 2 is faster, though.

Check out this YouTube video. It helped me decide.

Oh nice, didn't see the video until now. It's around the same that I experience with both of the watches...in the video, it looks like the apps loaded 2-3 seconds faster on the Series 2.

Any difference between having the App in your dock vs opening the app for the first time?

In the video sometimes the original watch already had some info showing in the background while the series 2 showed nothing.

Yes, it is evident that the Series 2 is faster. The most obvious discrepancy is boot time. For what I use the watch for (Notifications, Time, messages, etc.) the difference was simply not worth the premium. Depending on your daily habits your needs may require the Series 2's GPS and water proofing. My lifestyle just didn't, so I saved the 300+ dollars on a Series 0 SS and called it a day.

I also picked up a silver AW with a link bracelet for $250. Crazy deal! I had a rose gold AWS 38mm before, so I'm very happy with this deal.

I'm keeping my eye on the 38mm space black SS...they are at $350 for the link bracelet/milanese loop and $250 for the watch alone...if it drops to $200/$150 I may get one of those, too! ;)

Tempting. I have the 42mm Space Gray 1st Gen Aluminum and always thought to trade in and upgrade. $349.00 ($350 off on most models) for 42mm SS

Trading in the 42mm Sport in "Good Condition" - Best Buy gave me a trade in price of $118.00
hmm.

I'm so screwed. I didn't measure my wrists before jumping on the the stainless and black stainless link bracelet deals. I was in the nike store at lunch today and they had the new nike models to try out. i tried the 38mm band to gauge how the link sizes will be and i could barely get it on the last hole of the nike band. Apple site says the 38mm goes up to 200mm wrist size for the nike and 195mm for the links. I really didn't think my wrists were that big... do your research people lol, dont be like me

And you made the right choice. I picked up the Series 2, and was not impressed enough. There was still enough lag when doing some things that I felt it was not worth the money. I think this is likely due to the amount of RAM being the same as the Series 0. For example, when using the scribble feature to reply to a text, there was still a nasty delay without feedback when tapping the scribble on-screen button the first time you use the app. I was hoping the S2 would fix this issue, but it's still there.

Anyway, if you don't need waterproofing or the extra brightness, or the GPS that drains the battery a hilarious amount, skip this generation. The speed increase IS there, though. I did like how the app switcher scrolled left to right much more smoothly on the S2 than my S0, but... it just wasn't enough to justify its huge price.

If you're on the fence, these Best Buy prices are incredible for the S0.

those who got the 38mm SS w/ link bracelet via Best Buy, has your order shipped? i ordered one late Friday afternoon and it's still "In Progress" and has free 2 day shipping. i ordered a 42mm SS w/ black leather loop on the 22nd and it shipped that night and is out for delivery today.

You should sell it and make a few bucks. There's plenty of people like me who refreshed the page often and never seemed to land the deal. :)

These are good deals. Glad I kept my first Gen Stainless steel Watch though. Still running like new.

I ordered the 42 white leather loop (medium) yesterday after having bookmarked the Best Buy page weeks ago and monitoring prices. I got an email today telling me it was in backorder, but that somehow it was still expected to be delivered by Wednesday per the 2 day shipping window. Based on my recent experience with my ATT preorder, I feel like companies just want to take my money and send me their products whenever they get around to it. This is why I shop almost exclusively on Amazon.
