Depends on what you ordered. I can see movement on my wife's Rose Gold 7 ordered on apple.com via UPS MyChoice, but when she checks the order Apple still stays that it hasn't shipped. Also, it's coming from China, whereas I imagine Best Buy pre-orders will be coming from a US shipment center (already here), not direct from the factory in China, so they wouldn't need to ship as early. And as for my 7 Plus black ordered via apple.com, no movement, though I expected that with a quote of Oct 4-10, which is why I also ordered one from Best Buy.

Hope so. So... basically, we won't know about the status of our orders until it's already too late to get in line at our local Apple Store? I heard people start lining up Thursday mornings and if you wait until late Thursday night you may already be 30-50 people back in line.

Your iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, or Apple Watch Series 1/Series 2 will not go into shipping status until after customer service is closed on Thursday night. This means that you probably won't have time, or be able to, cancel the order on Friday and get it at an Apple Store either if you are using some sort of Carrier Upgrade eligibility like AT&T Next.

In all honesty, it seems like the best way is the Apple yearly program. But that requires you paying an additional 5 bucks a month for AppleCare+. However, even that had issues with the upgrade this year through Apple.

I am just keeping my fingers crossed the information I got from Best Buy Customer Service is accurate.

Best Buy is joke
i wouldn't trust Best Buy

Who are we supposed to trust, Apple? Their own iPhone upgrade program is flawed this year as customers were put into a separate group of phones and a large percentage were unable to upgrade their devices. I believe I read here on Macrumors that a Class Action Lawsuit is now filed against Apple for this.

There seems to be no good way to get a new iPhone, at launch, without trouble.

I did call BBY customer support a little while ago. This is the third person I have spoken with. I will say, they have all given me the same response. The last guy I do feel like he was being genuine with me. He said, " I'm not allowed to tell you for sure yes or no. What I will tell you is this. Everything looks good for a pick up on friday. I will also tell you, I do not recommend cancelling your order based on the information I have here."
I would like to believe that. Yes, It's the information I want to hear, but in the same regard, I feel like I have been calling looking for bad news and I haven't received that yet.

Going to call again to match information and will keep you all posted.

Which specific iPhone did you Order from them?
What date/time did you order it?

This information is completely different than what Best Buy Customer Service told me today. While an order may get a tracking number, Apple won't allow a third party to ship any of their devices, that aren't released, prior to release day. So it shouldn't change shipping status until around 10 - 11 PM on Thursday, the 15th, or 12 to 2 AM on Friday, the 16th. Best Buy indicated this would be shipped, via UPS, with Same Day Air shipping option.

I don't quite understand why they can't give you a yes or no? When I have pressed them, over the phone, about my specific order numbers, they have said it shows I will get my iPhone 7 Plus and Apple Watch Series 2 on Friday. They have a class action lawsuit coming if they sold you something, with a specific release date promised, and fail to deliver.

Believe best buy, when the 16th comes and you don't have a phone...

Any clown can file a bogus class action law suit..geez

The same Best Buy Rep on their forums, has chimed in again and stated essentially what I learned from Customer Service earlier today (I posted that on an earlier page). You can read Best Buy's response here.

If you don't want to go to the link, it says:
For those of you who pre-ordered online, whether for store pickup or shipping, I would anticipate you to see your order continue to progress by tomorrow night or early Friday morning. For those of you who pre-ordered in-store, you unfortunately don't have visibility to the step-by-step progression of your orders.

Either way, you should receive email updates beginning tomorrow night or early Friday as we prepare for the launch. I would encourage you to keep an eye on your email inboxes (including your spam and advertising folders) for updates coming your way!

Again, this is all Apple's fault for not allowing third parties to ship their pre-released products like they ship other items. However, I believe if you purchased with "Get it by 9/16," you will have it on launch day.

Apple will make it right if they mess up Best Buy will not, BELIEVE ME

I called Best Buy customer service and the person told me both my watch and iPhone will be delivered on the 16th. Take it for what it's worth. As I am typing this I just got an email about my Apple Watch stating that there is issues with apple and my watch won't be ready until October. They provided a 50.00 coupon because of the inconvenience. UNREAL!!

Well I just got a delay email from Best Buy about the watches pushing it back to 9/28. Just the watches so far, but those said get it by 9/16- so they are delaying things that were listed that way. Kinda ticked.

What this means is that Apple didn't send Best Buy as many watches as originally expected, or that orders far exceeded what Best Buy ordered from Apple, either way it's a supply issue. The Apple Watch hasn't exactly set the world on fire (not saying it's a flop or a bad product, I own one myself and have purchased one for my girlfriend) so I wouldn't be surprised if the company didn't order a lot of them for the initial launch.

The iPhone is a different story, Best Buy knows how important and popular of a launch it is, that's why so many of us who work there were so surprised that we seemingly received such a limited quantity of plusses this year.

Still, delaying it to the 28th puts it past what Apple was saying, which seems to suggest they are just tossing expected delivery dates out there without having a real inventory check at POS.

One Tuesday, Best Buy opened up to pre-orders to those who want to buy without an account ("Unactivated" at full price which includes a $50 premium over Apple's MSRP). I ordered a 128GB Silver iPhone 7 (Verizon) and have pickup scheduled for Friday. My status hasn't changed nor do I expect it to. But I am confident I will get my phone Friday AM when i go pick it up. They have never let me down with full price phone purchases. Also, since I went with Silver, I don't expect a shortage.

You have a better chance with the phone being silver and a regular 7 model. But right now there is no guarantees with anything.

Nothing in life in guaranteed. But I have seen it all when it comes to pre-orders. Missing tracking emails, lost planes, store confusion, late freight, etc... but it always works out in the end. It probably will for 95%+ of pre-orders.

Ugh definitely not 95 percent,Far from it.

Not only did my Stainless Steel Silver Series 2 Watch get delayed until 9/28, they didn't even bother giving me the coupon. However, that coupon/gift card expires in 30 days.

I am so over Best Buy.

Sorry to hear about the Watch. Hopefully it comes sooner or you find it elsewhere.
